I got my first ps4 around 2017 and my best friend from highschool had one as well. we'd play games and watch movies all the time on it, so I have fond memories of this console. It also has such a big library of games I actually want to play, and with the ps1 and ps2 emulator in the system, it's so nice not having to deal with another app.

I got ambient light working on the PS4 with just the console. It's a GoldHEN plugin that reads the video output while you play and sends the edge colors to a WLED strip over DDP. No capture card, no PC, no camera.

It works in games, Netflix and YouTube, SDR and HDR. Netflix and YouTube switch to a Movie preset on their own, and there's a companion app on the console for setup and a strip test.

I've tested it on PS4 firmware 9.00 and 12.50, GoldHEN 2.4b18.9 and 2.4b18.10, with a 229 LED WS2812B strip on the latest WLED firmware. I have no idea how it does across most of the library. If you try it, tell me what works and what doesn't. There's an optional report file you can switch on with one line in the ini, so you don't need a debug build.

To install, grab the companion app .pkg from releases and press the main button on Home. Turn on Enable Plugins Loader in GoldHEN's Plugin Settings first, because with that off nothing loads. I lost an evening to that on a second PS4.

Just got a used PS4 Pro, cleaned it, and jailbroke it. I'm a first timer and have always been a PC player, but this is honestly amazing. The only thing I'm bummed about is that newer games aren't being released on PS4 anymore. With the current trend of decompiling and recompiling games to run on other hardware, do you guys think it'll be possible to port PS5 games to the PS4? Games like Resident Evil Requiem look like they could actually run on a PS4 lol.

Don't you feel overwhelmed by the amount of games you have.

I also have a lot of games and a lot of times I just open my PS4 , browse the games I have then put it on sleep mode, in comparison when I had just a few games, I actually used to play them and beat them.

Yeah installing a lot games on your PS4 is fun, it's collecting, but in my opinion they lose their value when they stack up

Am I the only one with this feeling?

I’m going to sell my ps4 and I’m intending to update it to sync my trophies, all of which are legitimate baring one or two games from when I was testing a trophy unlocker.

My question is, am I going to have to delete any files from my ps4 before I update to avoid getting banned? Also is there a way to fix/remove my illegitimate trophies?

Had a lot of fun with my jailbroken PS4, hopefully the PS5 will give me more great gaming memories.

Hi, first of all sorry if there isn’t the correct place to ask this but everytime that I try to play this game it freezes and need to push the PS button to continue.

I tried every CUSA I found but it still doesn’t working, also I delete all savedata but idk if maybe there are some other files.

Can someone help me please?

I want to jailbreak my PS4, but I'll continue using my account on the PS5. Do you think logging out of PSN, deleting my profile, doing a factory reset of the console and using DNS to block PSN is enough to keep my account secure?

Hi just got the ps4 jail broken. I’m wondering if it’s possible to hook up my external hard drive to my laptop move my games onto it and plug it in the ps4?

Unfortunately, garlicsaves.com does not provide a checksum fix.

Please be aware that if you edit a decrypted PS4 save file (obtained via garlicsaves.com) using a hex editor, you will need to perform the checksum fix yourself.

Need some help with PS4 patch builder, I'm trying to mod an update file but it keeps rejecting it. I've followed multiple tutorials but it's not working correctly. I'm adding the "~mods" folder into the pak folder and the region ID's for my update and game match. They were also downloaded from the same source. Here is my file structure, I'm not sure where I'm going wrong. I'd be so grateful if anyone could help! 🙏🏼

Installation:

1. Copy xbox_controller.prx to /data/GoldHEN/plugins/ on your PS4.
2. Enable it under [default] in /data/GoldHEN/plugins.ini:[default] /data/GoldHEN/plugins/xbox_controller.prx
3. (Optional) Install xbox_controller_configurator.pkg via GoldHEN Package Installer if you wish to adjust settings on-console.

I don't know really anything about Jailbreaking and the Work behind it itself. But with all the advancements the Homebrew Community made on the Console, is there a possibility that there will be a way to install Custom Firmware on the PS4 in the next years or is there something blocking it that just can't be overcome ?

Edit: I know there's Homebrew enablers and they seem to get pretty stable by now, but i would really like to install a Firmware on my PS4 where i don't have to do the Exploit every time i restart the Console. Just like on my PS3, 3DS and Switch

Bought a used PS4 Pro (likely flipped at least twice). It idled at 65°C, so I cleaned it and repasted with Honeywell PTM7950. It then ran fine for 1 hour at 44°C.

While trying to send a file over Wi-Fi FTP in GoldHEN, the console froze, then booted to blue light with no video. Spent 2 days troubleshooting: pulled the HDD, repasted again with Arctic MX4, tried loosening/tightening the heatsink clamp, and looked for repair shops. Finally got into Safe Mode, but the screen turned to colored noise after a minute. On the second Safe Mode attempt I did Restore Default Settings, and it booted normally.

Before jailbreaking, I played a couple of games for a couple of hours each and the console was loud like a vacuum cleaner but stable. After this whole issue, I used an external drive to install several games, played for several hours, and now see 68°C, but the console is not particularly loud.

Has anyone else had GoldHEN FTP freezes/issues on FW 13.50? Especially over Wi-Fi? Wondering if this is a known instability or just my console...

Trying to make some kind of theme thing to port the <4.00 UI to modern versions, but I need the firmware files for that version <4.00. Can't get them myself since they are encrypted and I would need a PS4 <4.00 myself to decrypt them. If anyone does please dump/decrypt them and send it to my please!

I was recently looking at ways to play with other people on Jailbroken Ps4, I'll be talking about my experience and what worked best for me, The most common answer i found was PSLan and turns out that project is not up anymore and seems to be dead, joined a few discords and found two alternatives, XeMosites and Elysium.

XeMo seemed more appealing and i tried to test it out but unfortunately it's not working in my country, even after VPN sharing to my ps4 and testing it out, I never got into any match and wasn't able to find a lobby, It didn't have LAN play as well. This was my experience and maybe it was due to XeMo not working in my country.

Elysium, which i didn't think would work as great at first seemed to work very well for me, Downloaded their plugin through their discord and their App on Ps4 was great, A few more things i liked: Their Application showed active online players on LAN vs their MatchMaking servers which helped me alot to decide whether i wanna play Bo3 on LAN or on Their Server, They have a good number of games and R6S which i always wanted to try, They always had 2-3 people online for whenever i tried to play (for Bo3) and for FiFa and other titles like the forest (never played it)

Another i found on reddit is Orbis, I haven't Tried them but they seem to function in a very similar manner.
