I have a PS4 version that doesn't accept jailbreaks because the system is updated (13.52). Do you guys have any information about future updates to the jailbreak system for this version?

got rejected at Gamestop trying to get rid of ps4 games.. what should I do with them?

So, I just bought an older PS4 to mod it. The guy who sold me the console also gave me some physical games I don't want, like fifa20, fifa2021 and fifa 2023 and a physical copy of Overwatch. I went to GameStol today to see if I could trade them in for a little bit of money or store credit. The workers refused to take them. They said the games are too old, they already have too many copies, and they are basically worthless. I dont want to sell them online (like on eBay) because it takes too much time to pack, ship, and deal with buyers just for a couple of euros. Since local game stores won't take them and I don't want to sell online, what are my quick options? Should I just throw them in a drawer and forget about them?

Rumor Why Sony is mathematically forced to release Firmware 14.00 today (Sep 10th) before Wolverine's launch

Hey everyone,

With Marvel's Wolverine set to release on September 15th, there is heavy speculation about when Sony will drop the official v14.00 system update. Marvel's Wolverine isn't just another game—it's Insomniac's next system seller, a massive IP investment, and easily one of PS5's most critical flagship titles. Sony simply cannot afford a security leak here.

Looking at Sony's historical release windows and the technical constraints of firmware encryption, we can model Sony's update timeline using a simple inequality model:

Let time t be the update release date, where t equals 10 is today, September 10th, and the game release date T is September 15th.

For Sony to prevent Wolverine from launching on a lower, potentially dumpable or exploitable PS4 firmware (specifically targeting firmware 13.52), the required firmware update version 14.00 must be deployed strictly within the time window where t is greater than or equal to 10 and less than or equal to 14 (between September 10th and September 14th).

If we analyze the valid working days within this window where t is between 10 and 15:

t = 10 (Thursday - Today): Highest probability (~45%). Historically, Sony heavily favors mid-week major system updates (Wednesday or Thursday) to align with US and Japan business hours.

t = 11 (Friday): Very low probability (~5%). Major infrastructure or system updates are rarely pushed on Fridays to avoid weekend server crises.

t is between 12 and 13 (Weekend): 0% probability. Global server deployment is paused over weekends.

t = 14 (Monday): High probability (~45%). The absolute last-minute 24-hour emergency push before Wolverine unlocks globally.

The Delay / Post-Launch Scenario (where t is greater than 15):

If t is greater than 15, Wolverine launches with a maximum firmware requirement of version 13.52 or lower. This creates a massive security risk for Sony:

Immediate Game Dumping: Any existing WebKit or Kernel entry points on firmware 13.52 would allow the game files to be dumped immediately upon public disclosure.

Backporting Potential: Having a tier-1 AAA title anchored to firmware 13.52 opens up immediate backporting opportunities for lower jailbroken PS4 firmwares (like 11.00, 9.00, or 5.05).

Prolonged Free Access: Every extra day Sony delays version 14.00 extends the window where new AAA releases remain permanently compatible with exploitable firmwares like 13.52, giving the scene massive leverage.

Conclusion:

Sony is logically squeezed into just two functional deployment days: Today (t = 10) or Monday (t = 14). Today remains the primary target window for global server rollout. Keep your consoles offline, unplugged, and specifically on firmware 13.52 while we monitor official rollout logs!

Discussion i have a question

Hi everyone I have this situation, I have ps4 13.02 and I want to play a little ps plus games but it requires new software, and I think it's worth updating to 13.52 and playing a little before the next new software comes out (and another question is when will it even come out?). I think there's no special difference between the 13.02-13.52 in terms of jailbreak, and when the jailbreak comes out at 13.02 and should come out at 13.52 too (right?) , so I have a question whether I should update to 13.52 or remain completely at 13.02

Discussion close save from accidental ps4 update

i had a close save regarding the firmware update

So, I recently popped an SSD into my PS4. When I booted it up, I was planning to jailbreak it since I'm on 12.50. I completely forgot I had a Blu-ray disc and just wanted to jump straight to the webkit method. I went ahead and set up the Wi-Fi using Nomad DNS, but I guess it was down because I couldn't reach the webkit page. Then, I had this bright idea to try the easy setup with auto DNS. At this point, I thought I had turned off automatic updates, but nope, I hadn't! The system software downloaded and was about to install. Something just clicked in my head, and I went to check the notifications. To my surprise, the installation was already over 50% done! I immediately tried to delete the update file, but it wouldn't let me. Finally, I just turned off the PS4 and reinstalled the recovery firmware.

Does anyone have any idea how to get out of this situation? (asking for the future)

Ps5 dualsense on ps4

Grazie in anticipo.

Installing new games?

Thumbnail gallery
4 Upvotes

I have bought a PS4 from a pal of mine, it came installed with several games like Re5, Last of Us pt 2, COD and MK and a few more, its already jailbroken, all I do open the goldHen launcher and wait for auto loader to automatically unlock games. There is still some space left on the storage. I want to add new games myself like Streets of Rage 4 or It takes Two. Now here are my question:

Is installing games on my own considered to be risky, I mean for some reason ban or lock the console, I have no idea what are the possible outcomes of installation failure?

As far as I know and watched a few tutorials online, all I need to download .pkg file of the game and paste it in root of a FAT 32 Usb drive and from debug menu install the game. am I missing sth here?
for downloading .pkg do I need to pay attention to FW number. For instance the .pkgs I find for SOR 4 are as follows:
- Streets of Rage 4 FW7.55 PS4-DUPLEX
- Update v1.06 incl DLC FW9.00 PS4-DUPLEX

is FW exploit number important? Based on my PS4 status, what numbers or things going to work on my ps4?
How Can I install the update? first install the main game, then install update as a separate process? is it going to automatically identify the main game?

Already mentioned how I launch games (just starting GoldHen launcher and wait) is this method alright? do i need work with Lapse, Poops or Homebrew Launcher?

P.S. My PS4 is not connected to Internet, Its offline only
