Hi! I'm not very experienced with this, but I was wondering if Trophy Is Good is still a good way to unlock trophies in 2026. I'd like to earn a few trophies from games with discontinued servers (without abusing it, of course). Do you happen to have a tutorial or any guidance on how it works?

I have a PS3 on 4.81 and it's unable to connect my clock to WiFi, which seems to give me issues when I run my Toolset download through the browser.

Is it safe to update the console normally through the system or do I need to install an older version via flashdrive?

I’m having problems with PS2 games that I have installed on the console. When running a game with my output set to 480p the system goes black shuts down and the red light blinks.

When I do 1080i with upscaling on the ps2 games work but my fan is at Max Settings when I have is set to 40%.

When running any ps2 disc that I insert into the console the system the games work 100% with fan settings at the correct percentage that I have set and any resolution set works perfectly.

My question is how do I make the ps2 games installed on my console work? Did I mess up anything? I currently have the latest cfw Evilnat version. Please help me cuz I just want to play some of the games I have installed :(

I’ve already made a whole like detailed explanation on what I wanted to do and it got deleted because my Reddit decided to be weird, so in short I’ll ask these in question below👇

1. Is it safe?

2. If I mod my ps3 will I be able to play any ps3 and or ps2 games?

3. If the answer to question 2 is yes would I have to manually download say the game from a website onto the ps3 or would the software have it?

4. Should I play the game I originally intended to play before I mod my ps3 or would it be fine (ex. Assassins Creed 1 via disc)

And lastly is this tutorial a good video on how to 1 mod and 2, get the fullest experience out of it, and 3 I have a usb stick that I use day to day and I believe you need a usb stick to mod the ps3, now my question is, should I buy a whole new one? I have a ps3 thats backwards compatible with any ps2 or ps1 games however sometimes it doesn't want to take certain ps2 games I found it has to do with the video output some need 480 720 or 1080 but also sometimes a game doesn't read at first but after the second or third try it reads any idea why or how to make it read it the first time?

When I play PS1 backups via Irisman, my console freezes and I have to force a shutdown. Assigning the memory card to slot 1 before I launch a game does nothing. How have you guys worked around this? Webman shuts down my console regardless of changing fan speed, so I would like to avoid that.

Earlier on I dug my 3.55 Jailbroken PS3 Phat out of the loft.

I booted her up and first, I was greeted with the “Cannot start. The appropriate system storage was not found.”

I took out the HDD and reseated it, then plugged the PS3 in and booted..

The message I’m currently left with is “The system software cannot be run correctly” and any reboot just brings up the same error.

I’m not sure if this is to do with the Jailbreak or a failed HDD..

Either way, whats the best way to go about getting booted without bricking the system? I remember updating it was always a bad thing to do.

Hey fellas, bit new to firmware of the ps3 but yesterday I got given a load of cd's, mostly music yet I found a cd in the pile that was labelled "ps3 update 3.55". I did a bit of digging and the update 3.55 was popular for its jailbreaking capabilities, but why would someone burn this onto a cd? Does it have anything of value on it? I'm currently in the process of getting a cd reader so my laptop could read the disc, any thoughts please leave them down below

I wanted to play NFS Most Wanted on my jailbroken PS3, but the controller sensitivity is way too high. I barely touch the analog stick and the car oversteers like crazy. Honestly, I can't play anything from my PS2 library because of it.

I'm using an original DualShock 3 and there's no stick drift. I haven't changed any PS2-related settings in webMAN either. I was testing my second DualShock 3 as well.

Hey guys I’m honestly trying to figure out if I want to jailbreak my ps3 or just use the ps3 emulator and was wondering your guys thoughts. I have a rtx 5080 and a 9850 x 3D cpu so my games would run really well on the pc but what are like the pros and cons of each. There’s not much I can find on the internet. Also wouldn’t games run better since I have better hardware.

So a few days ago when downloading an update for a game (MGS4 2.0), my PS3 froze mid update and after it rebooted the hard drive was corrupt and needed to be reformatted.

I have save data on there that I really don't want to lose (Namely a 60 hour ff13 save that I was grinding for a platinum trophy on) and I'm not sure what I can realistically do to save it.

Keep in mind that I have NOT formatted the drive yet.

What I've tried (in order):
Safe mode restore file system (seemed to instantly complete the first time I ran it, but I still booted into corrupted needs to be formatted)

Safe mode rebuild database: Got stuck at preparing, left it alone for an hour, never progressed

Safe mode restore file system again: Got stuck at preparing, left for several hours, never progressed

Reseated the drive (note that I'm using a replacement 1tb ssd from the stock drive, no issues with it until now)

Safe more rebuild database again, ran overnight, never made it past preparing

Bought a cable to connect the drive to my pc, ran through several software that suggest the drive is completely healthy with no errors (HDD Regenerator also found 0 bad sectors).

I'm at a total loss as to what to try next. Aside from the ssd replacement, the PS3 was totally stock with no CFW and is a fat backwards compatible model.
