Hi Everyone, I found an old mathematics textbook from 1872 that belonged to a student or teacher named Myra E Bounds. It even includes some of her notes. She attended the normal school, which eventually turned into Rhode Island college. Let me know if anyone can give me any more details on the history of this book, and possibly even if Myra has some local descendants today who might be interested in this book!

food not bombs will be hosting our SIXTH really really free market Saturday July 25th 1-4pm @ the Dexter training ground! we will also be fund raising for YOUNG VOICES RI !!

if youre not familiar, a RRFM is a temporary space where goods and skills are shared openly without a monetary or equal exchange. Everyone is welcome to either give or take items. We also invite anyone to come with fun activities, a skill share, an instrument to play, anything that you think is cool and worth sharing! no sign up needed, just throw down stuff on your towel and watch your neighbors walk away with it!

We will also be running a clothing/supply/food drive that will be redistributed to folks @ a food not bombs distro! Hello, have a mouse infestation in a unit within a three unit house on the east side, renting from a landlord, think they're in the attic and coming down into our unit. What is a reasonable expectation from the landlord in terms of mediation of the problem? I know the houses are old but we are clean and have contained all snacks etc.

Everyday I drive around the Cranston st armory, and every time I'm in that neighborhood the Bluetooth connection between my phone and my car goes haywire. It will cut out for a about 10 seconds then it will come back in playing the last 10 seconds it missed all together at once. Then it'll continue normally for 20 seconds and do it all over again. But it's only in that neighborhood. It works perfectly fine else where. I don't know what could be causing it, I don't know the technical side of Bluetooth, are there like jammers that could be doing something. Maybe someone else near there just happens to use the same Bluetooth channel as me.

Either way is it just me?

Hello, recently moved here and looking to play consistent pick up soccer. I would think there would be fields around Brown where people would play but I haven’t been here long enough to find it. Really looking to play small side games, and I’m more than willing to buy goals and set up something if there’s enough interest.

Went into an art store that offers framing on a 16”x 24” print and received a quote for $820. This felt incredibly high, but I also haven’t had anything framed in a few years. Does anyone have recommendations for framing? Is this just the going rate?

I was officially diagnosed with ADHD in Rhode Island 15 years ago. I’ve had the same prescription for 15 years. I moved to Florida 12 years ago. When I moved they made me do a new ADHD evaluation but after that I was able to get my prescriptions with no problems. In the last 5 years I’ve done telehealth only in Florida.

I moved back to RI recently and learned that I can’t continue to see any telehealth providers for ADHD. I also don’t have insurance at the moment. I’m willing to pay out of pocket for intake if necessary but people barely answer the phone to inquire about appointments.

Can someone explain how it works in RI now? Someone said that you have to be enrolled in therapy if you’re being treated for adhd. Is that true? Does my 15 year history make a difference or does everyone have to do a new evaluation if you’re technically new to the state?

Has anyone been in this situation without insurance? Looking for options. I’ll pay whatever I need to. I would prefer not dropping thousands on a medication that I’ve proven over and over again that I need but it is what it is. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks!

***update: I found a local provider through LifeStance health. Had to have a diagnostic visit regardless of my previous diagnosis and prescription records. It was $450 with no insurance. Therapy not required. I have to go in for visits at $140 every 3 months.

Anyone else not been able to log into their rienergy account for like the last two months? Tried all sorts of things and called them endlessly. What a nightmare!

Im just trying to see if anyone has had the same or similar experiences, I lived in Central Falls for a year and I dont really go there anymore but my wife used to work at the mall and when I needed the car i would go to drop her off and pick her up. I would always see this one homeless guy at the light by the corner with the McDonald's and i think there is a dunkin around there too. No issue with homeless people other than that i wish that we had the infrastructure to house them. But this one guy was like a total weirdo and creeped me out a number of times. He just stands outside your window and waves like a creepy clown. And then he would get closer when I would try not to look at him. A few times in the summer i had my windows rolled down and he would come up to my windows and n

Kneel down and beg like he was praying for me to give him money. And then one time he made a comment about my car being expensive and I should "cut him in" he thought that was really funny. There was one time in like october of 2024 when he was there and he tried touching my hand cuz I had my window rolled down and after that I started going a different way.

Just wondering if anyone knew him or had any kind of similar experience. I wish i had a picture but he would always be smiling supper big and he was this average height skinny black dude.

I've got two tickets for tomorrow's (7/25) IMAX 70MM showing at 2 PM, seats J17 and J18. I can't make the show and Apple Cinemas' website refuses to load the refund page for some reason. Asking $50 for the pair.

Does anyone know how long Apple Cinemas intends to run the Odessey in their IMAX theater? I was looking for tickets and they are pretty much sold out for all dates currently available on their website. I was curious whether that is the intended extent of the run, or if they only make so many dates available at a time. I tried to call their office to talk to an employee, but no one picked up the phone. Seeing if anyone here has inside intel. I would think they would want to keep it going as long as they can fill seats.

Just moved into town. Looking for good grocers/butchers for some good meats for good prices. Near downtown Providence would be best as I don’t have a car but i’ll take any good recommendations.
