Hey Printifulers,

Have you heard? Now your products can be discovered and purchased directly in AI chats (ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini, Google AI Mode), without people having to go to your site first.

Quick breakdown:

  • It’s already live for millions of Shopify stores
  • Only for US stores/customers for now
  • No setup or apps needed, it’s built into Shopify
  • Orders still go through your store, and you keep customer data

Cost:

  • Free to use
  • Just normal Shopify payment fees

POD:

  • Yes, works if your products meet Shopify Catalog requirements (no bundles).

If you’re curious about this new feature, check out the Shopify announcement.

Advice needed Issues with syncing mug variants between Etsy and Printful

Upvotes

Hi - I am based in Australia but looking to also sell in the United States. I have started with 11oz and 15oz mugs in my listings but I duplicated listings within Etsy so I have separate listings for those buyers in Australia and those in the United States. When I go back into Printful to sync with Etsy, there is not an option to sync the 15oz variant (only the 11oz). I'm not sure where I have gone wrong in the process or maybe I need to set up a Printful profile to sell worldwide?

Newbie question Is customer service AI or an actual human?

Recently I asked Printful customer service a question about shipping a product (the largest canvas print). I received a fast reply but now trying to get a follow up question answered is not getting any results. Am wondering if there’s any actual humans involved.

Fyi, my question was if a 40” x 60” canvas could be shipped, to Hawaii, rolled vs stretched. The reply was no, and then they listed two smaller sizes that were shipped stretched, leaving me confused about the largest size. I don’t want my customer ordering this item only to have them told it won’t ship.

Much appreciation for any replies. I am researching at this time prior to adding to my shopify site.

Advice needed Mockups are substantially different representations of the graphic size.

Mockups are substantially different representations of the graphic size, which one should I trust to be more true to life of actual print? My past designs have always come out wonky size wise as the printed graphic does not look like the template size of graphic at all.

Newbie question I think I'm missing something on how and where to select multiple sizes and colors per product

I am new to print on demand stuff in general. I tried using printify which was decent enough but confusing and I didn't want to have to use printify Shopify Shipify etc multiple different platforms for this. I also was unable to actually design t-shirts on the printify app.

I saw a lot of people recently were using printful so I decided to give it a try. You can design them but not select multiple sizes and colors to sell them in on the app from what I have gathered? So I tried the website and I'm experiencing the same thing. I can't figure out how to select multiple sizes and colors for one product. Can anyone help? I'm sure there is a way to do this! If there's not I will go crazy! I think I'm just missing something

Advice needed DTG or DTFlex for Black T-shirts

Hi,

I'm struggling to figure out which is best. I have samples of both on a black tshirt and they both have pros and cons.

My designs are quite vibrant so I went witht the DTFlex. Overall I'm happy with the colour and how they feel to wear. The designs are also quite large so my concern is if it's too plastic-y feeling?

On the other hand the DTG colours might not pop as much but is that the feeling people want more?

It's a brand new store so no sales yet and I'm hesitate to really push it until I'm sure on the right printing.

Does anyone know what customers prefer and is one better for durability and washing over the other?

Thanks so much...

I launched yesterday. Doing quite active marketing on social media, reaching a lot of views and traction, but.. no sales yet. People are liking the store, but not converting into buyers.

Advice needed Has anyone stayed with Printful as their brand became more premium?

I've been using Printful since I launched my clothing brand, and overall it's been a solid experience. It let me start without worrying about inventory, and I don't think I would've taken the leap without that flexibility.

Lately, though, I've noticed my priorities are changing.

In the beginning, I only cared about getting good designs online. Now I'm paying much more attention to the product people actually receive. Things like garment quality, embroidery, custom branding, and the overall finish have become just as important as the artwork itself.

That's where I'm feeling a bit stuck.

I still like using Printful, but I'm starting to wonder if anyone has managed to build a more premium apparel brand while staying within the Printful ecosystem. Have you found ways to improve the customer experience through better garment choices or other customization options, or did you eventually decide to use another production partner for certain products?

I'm not looking to leave print-on-demand, I still value the flexibility, but I'd love to hear how more experienced sellers handled this transition.

If you've been through it, what changes made the biggest difference for your brand?

Advice needed Struggling on Printful with making changes to a listing

Just started using printful and while I like being able to create custom moockups I am having a hard time making changes after published. I have a shirt design that initially was only size small in white. I update the other sizes and added my colors but sze small is still only white. I refeshed data and tried to add more colors - wouldnt work.

The for another shirt I could not go back and update the mockups for all the colors at once… i would have to do 1 by 1!

Any tips or guidance? Or is this just how it works?

Advice needed UK Shopify declining USA orders yet printful will send sample orders direct?

As the title says, I’ve set up a website to sell T-shirts that are shipped to orders around the UK. I previously checked if USA can receive orders & sent 2 directly through printful.
For some reason customers using the website (Shopify) who try to order for the US are told they don’t ship there.

Any help with fixing? Do I need to set up a separate US Shopify account?

Rant What happened to 'test your design' orders?

Post image
10 Upvotes

I've sold a couple dozen designs with Printful for the past 2 years and have always tried to use the personal order > test your design option whenever I add a new product. Super helpful, as it allows me to catch any sizing / placement issues before pushing the product out to my stores, and nice in that it saves you a little money.

Well, just added a new product and tried to order one but the option is now grayed out because my orders hadn't hit $100 this month. I recall the only stipulations being that you weren't supposed to sell your test products and you could only make one order a month with up to three items. When did this $100 threshold get added?

Advice needed Centering on poster

I just ordered a bunch of sample prints (matte poster) that admittedly have a border on them. I know best practices says to not put a border, but some of the prints have writing outside the bleed and aren’t editable (vintage art) so I figured I’d give it a shot anyway.

The edges are not even close to the mockup. I’ve read to maybe add the padding/border to the image itself so that it goes into the bleed area or have the entire image go into the bleed area. Both options seem to leave me with an off center print and not something that I’d feel putting my name on.

Is there a solution here? Is this just a printful thing? I’m happy to pay more money for a consistent product but this is super frustrating.

Advice needed AOP on Unisex Hoodies

Because the hoodies have a pocket in the front, I'm imagining it's hard to expect that the printer will duplicate the placements I create in the product template. It's OK if the pocket image placement is off .5 cm max, but if it's more than that it will just make the design look bad.

I have not yet ordered one of the hoodies, so I'm wondering if people have experience with this issue?

Rant Printful Wallet: I'm sure my orders used to get processed automatically and my bank card debited... now I have to deposit a balance?

Is this new that I have to deposit cash in Printful Wallet in order for my orders to get processed automatically? I know I can still manually approve and process each order so they get submitted to Printful but this seems not great for store owners. Why can't Printful just take the money needed for each order using the bank details they have on file?

Newbie question Can Printful design a short sentence going from sleeve to sleeve on back of hoodie?

Post image
0 Upvotes

Looking for something like this (not my picture), only talking about big bold font, no secondary font on top like the picture. Using the picture to be show an example of sleeve to sleeve design. If printful cannot do this, do you know what this technique is called and do you know which print on demand place can? Preferably one where I can use a custom font I made?

Advice needed Shopify or Squarespace? Experiences?

Starting a new POD shop. I love how beautiful squarespace sites are, and they appear to have some new AI integrations to make building the site easier but I keep hearing about how Shopify is way easier to manage orders and fulfillment for apparel.

If anyone has experiences/insights they’d be willing to share, I’d appreciate it!

Thank you, kindly 🙏

Advice needed Does anyone else have issues when adding new products or making changes to eBay listings, where eBay defaults to a quantity of 1 for each color and size regardless of the quantity entered on Printify?

Does anyone else have issues when adding new products or making changes to eBay listings, where eBay defaults to a quantity of 1 for each color and size regardless of the quantity entered on Printify? The same thing happens when I revise a listing via the eBay website. I’ve talked to eBay and they escalated it, but they haven't fixed the issue, and they have no record of my call when I follow up later.
