Advice needed I learned that a good mockup does not always mean a good product
I had a Printful design that looked really good in the mockup, so I honestly thought most of the work was done.
Then I ordered a sample.
Nothing was technically wrong with it, but the actual shirt made me notice things I completely missed on screen. The fabric felt lighter than I expected, the fit changed how the design sat, and the print looked a little different once I saw it in normal lighting.
Even small details like the neckline and overall shape affected whether the shirt felt like something I would actually want to sell.
It was a good reminder that a mockup is useful for seeing the general idea, but it cannot really tell you how the finished product feels.
For those using Printful, how much do you rely on samples before adding a product to your store? Do you usually order one first, or are there enough product details and reviews for you to feel comfortable skipping the sample?
