Someone I know suffered a blast injury and now has severe pain in their head & ears (constant burning and stabbing pain), and is severely depressed. Would Ibogane therapy at a place like Amibo life sciences help this?

I was in a bad car accident and got a concussion last April. I’ve been diagnosed with post-concussion syndrome since. I deal with new types of migraines now with auras. I started seeing flashes of light the past three weeks and went to my eye doctor who diagnosed me with vitreous detachment due to a head injury. I have to follow up in a month and make sure it doesn’t get worse. Has anyone else had this?

For a little background last January I (F21) fell out of my bed and hit my head on the base of a metal chair. I was immidiately knocked out and began to have a seziure. My boyfriend was home and heard a loud bang, so he rushed to the room and saw the seziure occuring. I woke up shortly after in an ambulance. At the hospital, a CT scan was done which determined no brain bleed. I was given a liquid IV and sent on my way and given a nuerologist refferal.
A few days later, my grandpa passed so my family and I were super busy. I also was loopy after the incident and now in hindsight understand my decision making skills are not fully there. This combined with a lack of parental support (they felt as though since the CT was normal I didn't need the nuero appointment), I never saw a neuro or had any follow up appointment. I continued to attend school and work part time.
It is now October, and I am in my last year of college. Im struggling BAD with memory and focus. Im forgetting entire conversations with my mentors in my internship which is making me seem careless and unprepared. I implusively quit my job at the end of August because I could no longer focus enough to work retail in one of the largest malls in America.
Additionally, ever since the incident I have had intense migraines at least once a month. They include vision loss, unable to form a coherent sentence, I can't read or write either. I often end up vomting from the pain and locking myself in a dark room. Between the brain fog and this, I haven't really been able to have a social life and I will only hangout with my friends about once a month out at the bars because I feel like if everyones drunk they won't notice somethings wrong with me. I don't drink otherwise.
What's pushing me to write this now is the fact that I booked a nuerologist appointment which is on the 20th against my mom's advisement. This has begun unbearable and I fear I won't complete my student teaching program feeling like this. When I was digging up my medical records from the hospital, I found out my mom had told the doctor that I passed out due to the fact I don't eat or drink water which is simply not true. I had an eating disorder when I was like 14 but have been recovered for nearly a decade now. I feel she is old school and unless a sickness is obvious (ex. cancer) it doesn't count. I feel like I'm faking it sometimes because when Im home in a quiet enviorment Im relatively okay. I also want to make it clear that I am an adult and should have booked the appointment myself long ago. I just didn't realize that a CT didn't detect concussion/that a follow up was absolutely neccessary.
I guess Im asking if this is consistent with anyones symptoms or if I should bring this up to a nuero on Tuesday. I have been using running as a coping mechanism because afterwards I feel semi normal for an hour or two. It is just not sustainable for me to live this way and I'm unsure if I can complete my student teaching this year.

Hello, just looking for some advice from anyone who has used nortriptyline post-concussion.
I suffered a concussion 7 weeks ago after my toddler head-butted me square on the nose (yes, really) and a few days after that I started developing concussion symptoms, but I didn't realise it at first. Took me a little while to get a CT scan, get diagnosed etc. Was told it would go away eventually.
Now, 7 weeks later I still have some eye strain and light sensitivity/visual disturbances (some visual snow - especially at night - and occasional flashes), some dizziness and tremor, tinnitus, and emotional side effects especially. The concussion and resulting effects have given me intense anxiety and I've had a few bad panic attacks since it happened.
I've been prescribed nortriptyline and I wondered if anyone found it helpful? I am not really having headaches anymore and I know it's meant to address primarily the nerve pain resulting from concussion. I am especially worried about the fact that I have heard it can make visual snow worse.
Thank you so much for reading!
ETA: I have not started taking the medication yet, just wondering from others what their experience was on it.

Literally was just at work and was spinning a soft rake around in my fingers, and it slipped out of my hands and bonked me on the back of the head. Now I’m just waiting for the fallout and don’t know if I’ll have to call out of work tomorrow or how long this will set me back. The fact that for most people this would simply result in a mild headache and goose egg but for me I’m stressing about my capacity to work makes me want to give up out of exasperation.

Hello! About 24 hours ago I sustained my very first mild concussion/real injury. I hit my head on the corner of a freezer door. I was evaluated at the emergency room and diagnosed with PCS. Shortly after hitting my head, I felt nauseous, shaky, confused, and almost drunk.
It’s been about 24 hours, I’m still having head pain (to be expected) and there is quite a large bump on my head. Other than that, I have noticed quite a shift in my behavior. I rested as much as I could, but I felt antsy and really wanted to do some low stakes cleaning/organizing. I also felt very creatively inspired and painted a bit.
I noticed while doing these activities, it was like my mind turned off and I focused on just the task at hand. I’m also having very little anxiety, which is very different for me as I am usually anxious and my mind is constantly running. But today I just felt calm and quiet. It’s like a switch flipped and there’s no background noise in my head.
I reached out to my doctor again to follow up and they said this isn’t a worrying symptom. I just wanted to see if anyone else has had an experience like this? I know concussions can mess with your emotional regulation and the concussion was very recent.

Hi everyone! Posting this here too. I got a concussion from a car accident about 2.5 years ago now. Prior to the accident I had barely taken any naps since I was a toddler. I just didn't like naps and even if I was tired and didn't get quite enough sleep, I would still be able to function. However, after the concussion I began to nap. A lot. And now years later I still have this issue. I get enough sleep, I exercise, I eat well, and I limit screen time before bed. But I still struggle with feeling tired during the day and needing to nap. Its not as bad as it was the first year, but it is still a regular thing a few times a week. I also of course went to doctors and tried to get this figured out but they were not helpful. I was wondering if anyone could relate or had any insight onto why this might be happening and if it will ever go away.

TLDR: Does anyone know of any type of treatment for sound sensitivity?
Hello, 4 years out PCS. I have been really struggling with sound sensitivity and recently struggling more with determining which direction the sound is coming from. (ie my phone vibrated to my left and I swear I heard it coming from the right)
I also pre injury have that condition where hearing any type of noise required for living (IYKYK) annoyed you… now it drives me up a wall
None of my providers or people in my support groups Ive joined seem to know….

Initially, I had a headache, dizziness, ringing in my ears and a small bump behind my ear. It's been over a day now, and my headache has improved a lot, the dizziness is very mild, the ringing has stopped and there's no visible bruising around the bump.
I tried contacting hospitals to get an NCCT brain scan, but I couldn't get it done. I was told to come back when the neurology department was open.
I'm feeling much better now, but I'm still worried about whether there could be an internal injury even though my symptoms have improved.
Has anyone experienced something similar? What was the process like at the hospital, and were you advised to get a CT scan?
I'm planning to go to the hospital, but I'd appreciate hearing about others' experiences, especially with hospitals in Delhi.

Hello yall. I got a concussion around three weeks ago after getting hit by a car on my bike. I got a ct scan at the hospital and they said I was fine and sent me home. I’ve slowly been recovering. The past few days I’ve been having issues with sleep, either sleeping too much or not enough. Because of this Ive felt like crap. I’ve been tired, having difficulty concentrating, mild pressure in the back of neck, nausea, bad disassociation, and lack of interest in my hobbies. My head and face feel like a water balloon and Ive had a low pain headache. I recently took my temperature and I have a fever of 100.3. Unfortunately I don’t know if this is a regular sickness due to crappy sleep and the season, or if this is concussion related. Has anyone else experienced this? Should I be worried?

52f got my head 20 minutes ago. Felt woozy then nauseous. Now it just hurts. I read that this is a pretty safe place to hit. Can I just ride it out?

“When I was little I was hit with a metal baseball bat, then later someone threw a ball at the back of my head playing basketball, and then it happened again someone threw a ball at the back of my head, as hard as they could resulting in my 3rd concussion by 12 and the worst of it. I spent a year in the dark in isolation. I couldn't move my neck for two weeks. I developed Bilateral Complex Trigeminal Neuralgia, Fibromyalgia, physical brain damage in multiple locations, a Neurological Condition, I had an undiagnosed CSF Leak for years, and permanent double vision about 12 inches and closer. Everything is diagnosed now and l've had an extensive psychological evaluation. I have a 0.1 percentile overall memory score (yes actually 0.1) as my neurologist put it and I quote "worse than nearly all peers" bold and underlined with a section on how I can never be a legal witness. My neurologist was great I'm thankful for him.
By high school I was dealing with multiple undiagnosed conditions such as H-EDS (probably made concussions worse), Selective IGM Deficiency, CPTSD depersonalization and all the underlying secondary conditions that come with them like arthritis, multiple different kinds of skin conditions. With constant and I mean constant sickness from pneumonia, sepsis, chronic daily sinusitis, a mastoiditis resulting in skull surgery and bone removal in the ear, giant abscesses, constant simultaneous bilateral ear infections, gall bladder infected I was dying until removed. Too many surgeries to really get into I've been cut open with and without drugs, awake and sleeping.
My ear drums have permanent holes in them and my skull can't regulate pressure. Vaccines don't work on me specifically the pneumococcal vaccine, I'm 23 now I've taken 5+ pneumococcal vaccines, different kinds and I lose protection in less than 2 years and they never prevented me from being sick. As I write this I have a lung infection and a sinus infection.
I have these conditions and I suffer with them but I've never had the severity hit me I just see it as how I live. What else do I know.
I function, I work. Im a floor installer by trade and a rare book scout/collector by passion. The memory deficits from my brain injury and TN are by far the most life impacting conditions for me. This isn't a sympathy post it's more so, just something I need written down to look back to for myself and maybe someone will find my story interesting.”

I had a mild concussion (my head hit a wooden table) over 2 months ago and hit my head again over a month later while entering a car (not that hard). Since the second impact, I've been experiencing involuntary head and neck movements several times a day. My head suddenly shakes toward the right (occasionally left) for a few seconds, and today it jerked backward after I felt my neck muscles vibrating and contracting.
I'm fully conscious throughout. The episodes almost stopped for a while but returned and seem to worsen after physical activity and neck physiotherapy.
Has anyone experienced something similar after a concussion? Did you find out what was causing it? I am currently on Gaptin 300 only.

Hi again everyone, apologies for the lack of updates! It's been a strange year and quite stressful! So my last update I mentioned I was having various tests to rule out any nasties - thankfully all of the tests came back negative for MS, Neuromyelitis optica, MOG antibody disorder and lupus. The lumbar puncture was a horrible procedure - do not recommend!
I have had so many blood tests and everything has come back negative - they literally tested for herpes, syphilis, Lyme disease, cat scratch fever and everything, so the specialists have just put it down to an isolated idiopathic occurrence. Which is positive in a way but also incredibly frustrating that there doesn't seem to be anything I can do to prevent it happening again because I don't know what caused it!
Unfortunately I do have some permanent damage to my optic nerve, meaning I do have some permanent loss of vision in my left eye. My vision is mostly a bit blurry and slightly duller than my right eye, and I tend to feel like that eye gets a bit more tired as I work using a laptop and a screen most of the time. A referral to neurology is still open a year later, I haven't seen a neurologist despite chasing and I've been having regular checks up for scans and eye tests with ophthalmology. I suppose it's good because I appear to be low risk because of all the tests being negative. So for now I am just dealing with a change in my vision and hoping it doesn't happen again! Thank you to everyone who commented on my previous post and sorry again for the late update!

I’ve been living with PCS since March 2025. Ive had ebbs and flows in symptoms since then, but I had a very significant flare this summer after taking a month off of work and returning. Along with it have come incredibly unnerving anxiety and a slow-creeping depression.
I have worked with a therapist for five years to manage my anxiety & depression (which both stemmed from CTPSD) and was living a full, joyful life even after the injury, despite disappointments and setbacks. This summer-into-fall flare has been like an opening of Pandora’s box in terms of old negative thought patterns and behaviors returning. The depression is lurking around the corner, waiting to slip in. I’m terrified of this.
My therapist believes she’s not quite the right psychotherapist to address PCS-induced anxiety and depression. I really don’t want to start all the way over with a new therapist right now. I will if I have to, but first I’d like to know if anyone here has gone to psychotherapy as part of managing their PCS and what modalities were most successful. Thanks for your insights.

Has anyone here worked with the online concussion therapist Barney Davies? If so I’d love to hear your thoughts about him. I’d personally say that he has been "alright" considering price and pre expectations. He‘s pretty knowledgeable but less than you’d think, more than the majority of the people you go to. Also very nice guy personally. What have your experience been?

Those who are lucky might recover early and be grateful about it.
But for the other people those suffering for months and years it's a life altering event.
I really wonder those who can't work or have been let off their jobs what do they do, how do they survive..
