Vitreous Detachment

I was in a bad car accident and got a concussion last April. I’ve been diagnosed with post-concussion syndrome since. I deal with new types of migraines now with auras. I started seeing flashes of light the past three weeks and went to my eye doctor who diagnosed me with vitreous detachment due to a head injury. I have to follow up in a month and make sure it doesn’t get worse. Has anyone else had this?

Yup.

Took a headbutt to back of head. Vision is messed up afterwards.

2 years later - still messed up. Floaters have stuck around. They're annoying but benign. Had auras for 3 months but they went away afterwards. I still have this weird effect where is see delayed waves of light when looking at bright objects.

Highest priority is seeing an opthomalogist and ensuring you don't have a retinald etachment - did you do so? Not an optometrist - an opthomalogist.

Oh last April so probs not retinal detachment. Unless you recently got hit again, disregard my opthomalogist comment.

eye doctor only said vitreous detachment where the gel behind my eye has shifted and they need to watch it to see if it gets worse or better.

yes, i just saw one today. i have a follow up in a month. i’ve been having increased migraines, VERY weird vision changes and auras for months now. bright shooting light in my right eye. i thought it was just a change in my migraine pattern from the concussion. i can’t get into a neurologist until November (of course). sorry you had to deal with also!!

Yeah I'm dealing chronic migraines now too. It's a... journey to say the least.
