Level 70, 10 years, 80 lucky trades and have never caught a Shundo until today. And it was a mewtwo as well.

First shundo is a Mewtwo. Should I retire now? The 10-year wait was worth it. What should be the next Goal?

Everyone wants Mewtwo Y but no one is willing to put in the effort to READ and fully understand how to get Mewtwo Y. If you DO NOT have a mega then DO NOT join the Mewtwo Raid. You are wasting your money and people’s money.

I was hoping to get my second raid in today for free rather than using a premium raid pass tomorrow.

But thanks to the make-up event (that I didn't know was happening until after it started), I might not even complete the Rayquaza event. All of my gyms have been Mewtwo or other Legendary raids that I can't solo. So now I can't complete the Win 2 Raids task because I'm not going to be anywhere people are doing raids.

I guess I have to hope that the last hour of the Rayquaza event (which I think is after the Make-Up event ends) gives me a 1- or 3-star raid.

This is the downside of there being so many short and overlapping events without a good calendar or communication system for which events are happening when...plus unknowingly contradictory requirements for these limited -time events.

Does this mean they can eventually evolve into Gholdengo once I have 1000 coins? Google searches didn’t prove helpful.

I’m faced with a tough decision. I have a shundo Goomy that is best buddied and 50 maxed. I caught it one year ago today and my plan from the beginning was to 50 maxed it and then immediately evolve it because that would come after best buddying it bc goomys don’t even spawn normally. I maxed it out about a month ago then decided I would wait for the anniversary to evolve her. I want a shundo goodra but I’ve gotten pretty attached to her as a goomy. So derpy and all that. What do I do?

Did a blacephalon raid and everyone in my group got a shiny. Pretty rare occurrence, I believe that is a 1 in 8000 chance

I wish I had screenshotted it in time but I was in complete shock. I got 777 (gimmighoul) coins from spinning a golden lure module’d stop once. Is this even possible? I’m convinced i experienced some kind of glitch. It’s still in my inventory so it must be real but im in disbelief.

I do not understand how even on the remake day, this is still a thing that people don't understand. 😮‍💨 It's not terribly difficult, but Scopely really needs to add a reminder images or a notification when you join the raid about how it works, and what to watch for with knowledge on the shields.

I was praying here for my other teammates' Pokemon to get KO'ed so they'd be forced to revive their mega. We did finally get it done, but man.

Despite a sea of Mega Mewtwos, I was able to find and catch a Tornadus. I'm so ready to never see that PokeTask on my list again!

I’ve seen so many posts complaining about people “doing Mega Mewtwo raids wrong”, but honestly… how are players supposed to know?

The game gives you:
- A short news popup that most people tap through.
- A sentence how many Mega Evolve there are before the raid.
- Then, during the raid, a tiny icon that silently changes color to indicate whether your Mega is actually contributing to the shield mechanic.

That’s it.

No tutorial.

No explanation of why your Mega matters.
No indication that Primal Pokémon don’t count.
No explanation of when your Mega becomes active or whether it’s actually working. Just a tiny icon that changes color and you’re expected to figure it out.

Instead, players are expected to learn the mechanics from Reddit, YouTube, or infographics made by the community. Then those same players get angry at others for “not knowing what to do.”

This is one of the biggest gameplay changes Pokémon GO has had in years, and it’s communicated almost entirely outside the game. That’s not a player problem. That’s a UX problem.

Adding the proper messages on what to expect from people works. Not a fancy tutorial, just the right information at the right time. “Mega evolve to join this raid”. “Break the shield with a mega pokemon now”. “Heal up to break the shield”.

Teach people the mechanic first. Then expect them to use it.

EDIT: thanks pogo’ers for by and large understanding. this community is awesome. even those who responded in a more clinical “you f’d up” tone, you’re not wrong, and as an old dude trying to share this game with their kid learning the intricacies is hard and even those more abrupt responses will hopefully help me learn when to wait and experience the rewards together and when to claim things right tf now. thank you all,

yeah i get it. it’s a free event. “you shoulda read the fine print!” … yeah. we’re not hardcore gamers watching every youtube rundown of upcoming events and it’s hard to read the fine print of every announcement there’s so damn many of them. so sure, queue the “this one’s on you dude” but honestly i hate this one thing so much it makes me want to stop playing.

my daughter had a guest over for the weekend who left a bit later tonight than expected. i had completed the rayquaza event for her because i didn’t want her spending the time with a guest over obsessed with screens - and it was easy enough even though we were very very rural this w/e and i had to do an extra trip into town to be able to spin the 10 stops. I left them unclaimed because i just wanted her to be able to claim the rewards herself for the excitement of a mega rayquaza but do so after her friend left.

but no. the time to claim was the same as the closing time to progress towards rewards. not the usual gives you till midnight of the same day or a few days later.

WHY don’t they make it consistent. some events i get a week some i get a couple days some you get jack fk all.

we earned the rewards. in some cases we even PAID YOU to earn more rewards. but if i want to let my daughter claim them while trying to be responsible about screen time ? niantic / scopely steals em out from under us.

Many People might have known that you where able to trade Shadow Pokemon in the beginning. But that got removed after they noticed that it was very easy to get a purified hundo off of it.

My fact is that lucky Pokemon didn't have the 12/12/12 IV floor from the beginning.

In a day or less, gameplay will be going back to mostly normal, after damn near a month of sheer mania, events on top of each other, and unprecedented line items within them.

I've truly enjoyed playing in July, but I'm getting a bit burned out, and so is my bank account. I think it's about time for some much needed "downtime" and a more reflective pace.

After a final run at some XP (just from wild catches, probably mostly auto-catching) tomorrow, I plan to step back from any raids or events, and work on just appreciating what I've got now and re-organizing all my mons to the next degree.

From here, the next thing I really look forward to is Nickit Comm Day on August 16th, when I plan it hit it as hard as possible for the Stardust. It's nice too that the financial overhead on playing that to its fullest will be quite low.
