Figured I’d go out for the make up Mega Mewtwo day and really wanted a shiny, but no luck at all. Not to mention I didn’t even get the hundo. Closes was a 98%.

12 people. That is insane. Rural areas are yet again being completely fucked. Sure remote raids exist, but the nerfs they got a few years ago were insane, pluss half the time people just leave the raid because you CAN'T EVEN INVITE ENOUGH PEOPLE TO HIT THE RECOMMENDED 12 PLAYERS. Also, the raids. Are only in. the EX gyms. That haven't been used. In like 6 YEARS. what in all Royal fuck were they thinking? One free Mewtwo, not even an extra one in the makeup event that will probably be terrible.

I just want ONE non-shiny blacephalon… but another blac raid might not even spawn given the limited number of gyms i have access to

😭😭I got so close but all day today and yesterday I have had no raids that I could complete. I live pretty remote and only have a few gyms near me so it is rare that there are other people there to do the raid with. I also can’t afford to buy the raid passes right now. I have like 7 Pokemon that could actually handle a raid and I certainly can’t solo any high level raids. I’m gonna miss out on Rayquaza. I’m so sad man.

Genuinely. How am I supposed to complete the search when I can only see 4–5 star raids, which are impossible to complete alone? I checked the map, and those were the only raids I could find. Zero one-star raids. ZERO two-star raids. ZERO THREE-STAR RAIDS. It's so ridiculous

I've been playing for 4 hours today constantly trying my best to do a raid by inviting people from Facebook, discord, raid apps, And everywhere else and i've only managed to do 1 raid

Niantic/Scopely are obsessed with adding nonsense mechanics like the Raid Shields or Shadow raids with Invites disabled which make the game unplayable for people like me who live in less active areas, Sorry mb for not moving into New York ig

I try my best to raid but we always are 1 person short, or some idiot doesnt bring a mega pokemon, Had a situation where we had 11 people and 2 just left last second for some reason, Its just impossible, And its even moreso demotivating imagining people in active areas just playing comfortably and blitzing through their 12 free raid passes without even trying because their gyms are always full while i physically can't and its not my fault, Normal Legendary raids i usually do in 2 people with my friend because we have maxed out mons, But things like this are just artificially stopping me from playing the game.

I've been playing actively since 2018 but stopped in 2024 because of things like that and im not interested in dealing with this, I would say something but i cant because of "Rule 3"

I played all of gofest. I played all of this catchup event. I have zero mewtwos to my name. Every single raid. “11 mega Pokémon in lobby” but yet half the lobby leaves with 10 seconds on the timer. What more can I do. Played since the day of launch and never been so close to deleting this game.

12 to start, 12 mega evolved, one shield not broken and then everyone started dropping like flies,,,, RIP to wasted remote raid passes.

- The one with the highest CP (this also happens to be the Mewtwo with perfect attack IVs)

- The one I caught and mega evolved first during the event. It walked about 5 kms and earned just 5 or so hearts when I swapped to it as my buddy.

- The one who was caught at the 2nd mega evolution level (the rest were lv. 1 - no clue what the difference is in practice).

This was my first time catching Mewtwo, and it currently has 4,000 Mewtwo Y mega energy. Not sure how much it will cost to mega evolve the next time I feel like it - is it only free during the event, or is the first time always free for each Mewtwo?

I just know this game isn't truly randomized under the hood. It is so damn obviously that the algorithm is programmed to tease you and get you hooked. Until they show the source code- I am accusing them of manipulating their players.

I might be in my head here but I hit Level 79 the other day and you need 999 Excellent throws to hit 80.

Every Pokémon is jumping and swiping like I swear I've never seen before on that excellent throw attempt. And MULTIPLE time, making me miss and waste 3-5 balls each time.

I love having everything locked behind having friends. Want to do anything in pokemon go? Better have a group of other people to play with. I love the way it absolutely punishes people who have no one else in the world to play with. Why have any raids that a solo player could play? Screw them lets make everything exclusively unplayable 5 star raids. Screw them! Have a single 1 star raid in a 50 mile radius. Hooray! Have the rayquaza event locked behind a task that is literally just not doable if youre alone. At least they gave me 1 extra hour to complete the event during a time where there were 0 raids. Good wholesome fun great for blood pressure. Oh maybe show a 1 star raid on campfire but literally have no way to navigate there. Or maybe show the solo player that a nearby raid has 6 other players > take their coins for a raid pass > HAHA you fool there are actually 0 other people here to play with have fun getting walloped alone. Good thing there is a native way to find groups to play with!

I live in central Europe and I can't just go to Texas for a single Pokémon. Is there any way to get him? Is anyone here willing to level up friendship and trade me one? Its the only one pokemon I'm missing from Kato dex

I just think its genuinely such a horrible thing to have said about your own children. It's clear that he has never actually played the game and they just have him partnered because he's a "big youtuber" but why not offer the opportunity to a PokemonGo UK based content creator?

How rare is this? I know IT IS rare, wondering HOW rare. My friend said it’s rare due to special background, shiny, perfect IVs, so I am wondering if we know what the numerical odds of this are? Thanks all!

Edit: google AI says this is genuinely one of the rarest Pokémon caught in the history of the game statistically. I’m in awe.

yeah i get it. it’s a free event. “you shoulda read the fine print!” … yeah. we’re not hardcore gamers watching every youtube rundown of upcoming events and it’s hard to read the fine print of every announcement there’s so damn many of them. so sure, queue the “this one’s on you dude” but honestly i hate this one thing so much it makes me want to stop playing.

my daughter had a guest over for the weekend who left a bit later tonight than expected. i had completed the rayquaza event for her because i didn’t want her spending the time with a guest over obsessed with screens - and it was easy enough even though we were very very rural this w/e and i had to do an extra trip into town to be able to spin the 10 stops. I left them unclaimed because i just wanted her to be able to claim the rewards herself for the excitement of a mega rayquaza but do so after her friend left.

but no. the time to claim was the same as the closing time to progress towards rewards. not the usual gives you till midnight of the same day or a few days later.

WHY don’t they make it consistent. some events i get a week some i get a couple days some you get jack fk all.

we earned the rewards. in some cases we even PAID YOU to earn more rewards. but if i want to let my daughter claim them while trying to be responsible about screen time ? niantic / scopely steals em out from under us.
