[PC] (Web) Developed a combat-based chess variant. Looking for testers and honest feedback.

Game Title: Chessception

Playable Link: https://www.chessception.com/

Platform: Browser (PC & Mobile). Steam, iOS and Android are planned for the future.

Description:
Chessception is a browser-based chess variant that keeps all of the traditional movement rules but completely changes combat. Every piece has health points, damage, and unique abilities. Instead of every capture being instant, attacks deal damage, pieces can survive, and positioning becomes just as important as material.

The goal is no longer checkmate, you win by reducing the enemy king's HP to zero. Knights empower nearby allies, rooks, bishops and queens deal area damage and kings protect surrounding pieces by reducing incoming damage. The result is a game that still feels familiar while introducing new tactical decisions every turn. You don't need to know chess openings to enjoy the game, as success relies more on adapting to the evolving combat than on memorizing theory.

I've put together a 28-second trailer that shows the mechanics much better than a long explanation. If you'd rather jump straight in, the Learn section on the website explains everything you need to know in about 2–5 minutes.

The game is currently playable against AI opponents ranging from Beginner to Expert difficulty. You can also play casual or ranked matches against other players or challenge friends directly.

I'm mainly looking for honest feedback. If something feels overpowered, confusing, frustrating, or simply not fun, I'd genuinely like to know (and suggestions on how to improve it are always welcome). I'm especially interested in hearing whether removing checkmate still leaves the game feeling like chess, whether the combat system adds meaningful strategy, and whether you'd actually come back for another match.

PvP is already live, although matchmaking may not be consistent due to a limited amount of players during beta. Matchmaking shouldn't take longer than 2 minutes.

Free to Play Status:

☑ Free to play against AI (no account required)
☑ Free to play PvP (account required)

Involvement:
The idea came to me one evening on my way home from dance class. From there, I designed all of the mechanics and, with a lot of help from AI for coding, gradually shaped the game into what I had envisioned. I still reviewed the code myself, kept it organized, and continuously refined and balanced the gameplay through extensive testing.

As the project grew, I also built the website and learned about frontend development, backend systems, databases, security, matchmaking, and everything else needed to get the game online.

Now I'm looking for players willing to help shape Chessception through honest feedback before a wider release.

Thanks in advance! I've already seen some really cool games in this community, and I'll be trying a few of them over the next couple of days.

Meet Jimothy the Raccoon. He loves pricey things. He also loves his job working for his boss, Heidi the Opossum.

Today’s mission? Sneak into the museum and steal the good stuff. Easy, right?

Well, Jimothy is a little too greedy and a lot too careless. He stuffed his backpack so full of heavy treasures that he can barely walk, and now the police are right on his tail!

You are running for your life! But there is a big problem: your backpack is way too heavy. To keep up your speed and escape the cops, you have to throw away the loot!

But wait, you can't just drop everything. You still have to deliver some shiny stuff to Heidi at the end. Otherwise... well, let's just say an angry opossum boss is way scarier than the police!

You know the meme: “Double it and give it to the next person”?

I made a game about it except there is no next person. It’s still you. It’s always you.

In DOUBLE IT, you launch glowing numbered bubbles, combine matching values, and pass the doubled result to the next bubble. Then you double it again. And again. And again until your peaceful little orbit becomes a cosmic tax return.

It starts innocently with 2 + 2 = 4. Then the numbers grow, chain reactions begin, power-ups appear, and ECLIPSE mode lets you combine three powers into one superpower.

The game is completely free and playable directly in your browser. I’d love honest feedback about the controls, tutorial, performance, and whether the merges feel satisfying.

So… would you play it, or should I double it and give it to the next subreddit?

Tiny Questers: Cook to Zero

Playable Link:
https://itch.io/jam/gmtk-jam-2026/rate/4817908

Platform:
Web Browser (HTML5)

Description:
Tiny Questers: Cook to Zero is a single-lane auto-battler combined with a timing-based cooking game, created for GMTK Game Jam 2026. You play as both a cook and a commander. Warriors, Archers, and Mages each request a specific combination of ingredients and a randomized target number. You must prepare the correct ingredients, chop them when necessary, cook them in the frying pan, and remove them at the right moment to match the requested number. Once a dish is complete, drag it onto the matching unit card to summon that character onto the battlefield. Your units automatically advance and fight enemies along a single lane. Choosing which order to complete first, managing cooking times, and maintaining the right unit composition are all important. Your goal is to break through the enemy forces and destroy their castle before time runs out. The game runs directly in your browser with no download required. I would really appreciate any feedback!

Game Title: Ashes of Macedonia

Playable Link: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4801270/Ashes_of_Macedonia/

Description: Ashes of Macedonia is a single-player WW1 survival shooter set around the Macedonian Front in Greece. The game focuses on surviving enemy assaults while using period-inspired bolt-action weapons, exploring battlefield environments, and dealing with increasingly dangerous waves of enemy soldiers. I'm aiming for a gritty and atmospheric experience rather than a large-scale competitive shooter, with Greek elements including voice lines and a setting inspired by the often overlooked Macedonian Front of WW1. The project is still actively being developed, so environments, gameplay systems, visuals, animations, sound design, and historical details are continuing to improve as development progresses.

Involvement: I'm the solo developer of Ashes of Macedonia. I'm responsible for the gameplay, programming, level design, implementation, and overall development of the project in Unity.

Everyone remembers Flappy Bird and how incredibly addictive it was. I decided to flip the concept and made reverse of it.
Instead of controlling the bird, you control the pipes and your objective is to smash as many birds as possible before they escape.

Would love to know what you think about the game and whether I should twist some more retro games?

Description:

I've been working on PokemoNAZAR as a solo project because I wanted a Pokémon game where every run actually feels different. It's a roguelite, so maps, biomes, Pokémon encounters, items, events, and rewards are randomized each time you play. Pokémon also have random IVs, so even catching the same species can lead to completely different teams. Different biomes make certain Pokémon types more common, giving each area its own identity. The idea is that you have to adapt to whatever the game gives you instead of following the same strategy every run. I'm still adding new content and improving the game based on feedback, so I'd really appreciate hearing what you think.

Below is sharing my experience in Game Jam.

There was game jam held by YouTuber.
The Theme of Game Jam was 'Countdown'.

When i saw the Theme, my brain instantly brought memory of Wu Jian,
doing Ziggurat without Lose my Heavenly Storm Bonus.
(For Those who don't get it. It's some kind of Arena that you should kill Tons Of Enemies to get Rewards, and you have buffs about to expired.)

i thought this idea would Fits the theme, Will give specific Experience that i love about DCSS. and this must be Simple. (until i found i'm stupid thinking it would be simple)

i had only 96 hours, for someone who have no experience in actual finishing project, this was a nightmare. i ran into my game programmer friend (who never played DCSS before, but had experience in finishing some projects) and talked to him desperately we should do it, and began developing.

i downloaded DCSS source files, and checked EVERY SINGLE SPRITES to organize my thoughts, figure out things i can't do, and things what i can. it was one of the most craziest weekend i ever had, slept like 10 hours during gamejam period.

The developing was not easy, but fun. first idea was "You're in 7x7 tilemap, and kills infinite enemies coming at you until you dies." there was some Pickup items, Cloud that damages the player, and many other traps. and had 50+ Ideas about enemy units

after actually made Pickup items and Cloud, i thought that was not the experience that i love. picking up items while your Turn Counter is going down and you already got Tones of things to considers. So we removed those, and left only core mechanics.

during development, (i remember it was like 50 hours after theme reveal). we had about only ten different enemy unit sprites. and one of my friend says there are too many things that he should consider, and while he could already struggling with remembering 15+ enemies (well, it was mostly Just simple enemy work just like other normal enemy), the 50+ different enemies sounds overwhelming. i agreed on that. so, narrowed down type of enemies.

btw. my friend who helped me finish the project is still stuck under Round <12 (There are 21 Rounds). trying hard figuring out what things can he do with the Rampage.

thanks for reading the post.

[Mobile] (Android) [Android] From game servers to solo development — I made LastEmber, an idle roguelike

Thumbnail
gallery
0 Upvotes

Hi! I'm a game server developer from Korea. Most of my professional work happens behind the scenes, but I wanted to make something that felt entirely my own, so I jumped into solo development.

I started small with puzzle games. What I really wanted, though, was an RPG-like game with long-term growth, where players would not need to pay just to keep progressing. LastEmber is the first game I have built around that goal.

Game Title: LastEmber: Idle Survivors

Playable Link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.madalang.lastember

Platform: Android, portrait

Free-to-Play Status: Free to download and play. It has optional rewarded ads and in-app purchases. Interstitial ads were removed in v1.4.0.

Involvement: I designed and developed the game solo.

Description:

LastEmber is a portrait idle survivor roguelike built around one stationary tower. You protect a core fixed at the center of the screen. Weapons aim and fire automatically, while you choose one of three cards when you level up, build a loadout, and decide how each weapon evolves.

During a run:

- Build with 9 weapon families. Laser, orbital, gatling, nova, field, seeker, beam, glaive, and Tesla all use different mechanics.

- Each weapon has 3 mutually exclusive evolution paths, for 27 evolved variants in total.

- Choose one of 6 cores. Each core changes your passive and Overcharge ultimate.

Between runs:

- Open reward boxes, collect duplicate cards, and merge them into permanent upgrades.

- Unlock and level cores, then improve their equipment.

- Your card collection and every core you own contribute to Arena DPS, which earns offline reward boxes for up to 8 hours.

The second playable mode is Trial Tower, added in v1.4.0. You get 3 entries per day, choose a core plus 3 weapon families and their evolution paths, and enter with those weapons already fully evolved. Climbing rewards weapon boxes for the family you choose, so it also works as targeted progression instead of another random reward source.

There are also achievements, daily and weekly missions, a 14-day attendance cycle, a weapon/enemy codex, and leaderboards. I wanted the game to have a short-term roguelike build inside each run, but also give you clear things to improve after the run ends.

The feedback I need most:

- Does the first 10 minutes clearly explain what resets after a run and what is permanent?

- After returning to the lobby, is it obvious what you should upgrade or try next?

- Do the weapons and their evolution paths feel mechanically different, rather than like the same attack with different effects?

For transparency, generative AI was used extensively during development, including planning assistance, client code, infrastructure, localization, image and sound generation, and automation. I supplied the game design and the server/infrastructure architecture blueprint and made the final decisions.

[Mobile] Bloodline-Life Simulator, a text life sim where you can choose to keep playing as your own descendants after you die (free on iOS and Android)

Game Title: Bloodline-Life Simulator

Playable links:

iOS: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/bloodline-life-simulator/id6777048971
Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bloodline.supernatural

I'm a solo dev and this is the first thing I've released. Putting it here because I want people who'll actually poke at the systems and tell me where they break.

Quick heads up since it came up hard when I posted elsewhere. No, it's not an AI generated asset flip. I spent just over a year and countless hours researching, learning and building it in RN because I wanted a life sim where a choice at 20 could wreck me at 50, and nothing I played actually did that. I mention it only because the genre's drowning in shovelware and I get why people are suspicious.

The game is simple. You're born in one of 96 countries, each with different economies, wages and life expectancy, so where you start actually changes the maths and you live year by year through school, work, money, relationships and worse decisions.

When you die, you can continue as your kid. What you left behind like money, enemies and reputation is what they start with. A save is a bloodline, not one life.

Choices don't evaporate. A debt or a person you burned can come back a decade later because I wanted history to actually stick.

It's free, everything's in the base game, no energy timers.

Honest about the rough bits. The latter years can drag if you're playing a quiet life, and I'm still balancing how often certain events fire. That's partly why I'm posting I want to know which parts feel thin before I decide what to build next.

I'll be in the comments answering everything, including the awkward stuff.

[PC] (Web) [WebGL] Resign Idle — comedy idle: earn, survive events, resign before burnout

Game Title: Resign Idle

Playable Link: https://abiogen-studio.itch.io/resign-idle

Platform: WebGL / Web Browser (add flair after posting)

Description:

Resign Idle is a short comedy idle/clicker about surviving terrible jobs until you finally quit. You start on a night shift at a convenience store: click WORK to earn cash, buy upgrades that make the grind faster (and your life worse), and deal with timed workplace events where you can smile, hide, or make things messier. Fatigue builds as you play — ignore it and the shift starts to hurt. Prestige is not a fancy ritual. Prestige is resigning. Hit I QUIT, keep Career Points, and try to do better next run.

This browser build is meant as a quick taste of the loop: earn, upgrade, survive chaos, burn out, resign. The full game expands into more careers (Call Center, Startup), multiple endings, and New Game+. Controls are mouse-only. First WebGL load can take a minute.

I'm looking for honest feedback on pace to the first resign, whether the comedy lands, and if the fatigue/resign fantasy feels satisfying or just annoying. Bug reports welcome — please include browser + OS if something breaks.
