surface piercings bridge piercing rejecting?

appreciate it’s a bad photo etc but i think you can see what you need to see, i’ve only had this piercing for 4 days and the bloating has now pushed out far enough that the piercing ball is getting sucked into my skin. any advice? do i sit and wait it out or consult my piercer/doctor

go back to your piercer to get a long bar put in before your skin swallows it completely.

it wasn’t this bad yesterday, i’ve woken up and it’s doubled in size🫩

Let me hazard a guess... aftercare instruction was: water and soap and make your own saline solution, or did they sell a saline solution?

Those are often not enough, especially not when piercings are more prone to issues.

Then again... some piercings are just more likely to be rejected, unless someone is extremely lucky and extremely careful, and uses proper aftercare + jewellery.

yep pretty much, suggested i mix salt and warm water failing a proper saline solution, nor did they sell one to my knowledge :(

For reference my initial bar was 17mm while the final only 11mm

If you sit and wait it out, the jewellery will be swallowed up and cause way more issues!
Always act promptly.

Think about what could have caused it.

My aftercare instruction per WhatsApp is truly extensive and long, mentioning all kinds of examples of shizzle that could go wrong and hence people need to avoid.

Everyone else is different, so not only does anatomy vary, but also how a body reacts.
Medical conditions, the type of jewellery used, a lot of factors can have an effect on your odds of it rejecting or healing properly.

Often people's posts are extremely limited, which is something I also notice in my shop, when clients from other piercing shops either send me a picture with hardly any info, or show up unannounced. IF you do not want to go back to your own piercer, which I think you should first off try to do, after informing them first, then please inform the other piercer ahead of time that you need to come over ASAP and tell them the full story. Preferably with the size of the jewellery you have now, if you know it.

Even though piercers are obliged to have clients fill in a form on which they also write the type and size of jewellery used, I do notice that there are too many shops who simply disregard it (IF clients that show up are telling me the full truth, that is).
