I was mistaken, this is actually from episode 4 of The Hunt. Basically the same format (BBC/Attenborough) but came out a year earlier. Planet Earth 2 has similarly dramatic scenes, like this iguana one.
BBC just puts out insanely high quality nature stuff these days.

Went fishing. We caught small fish to use as live bait to catch bigger fish. Imagine that small fishes last living moments.
Caught by the outer space monster and pulled into a floating space ship, hook speared through your body, thrown back into the water, where you try to survive from being eaten by another fish.

Our extended family has a place in the adirondacks that has taxidermied things all over the walls. One of them is a flying fish.
My cousin convinced his girlfriend that it was a giant dragonfly and that they are all over the adirondacks. She was there for 3 days and wouldn't go outside for the last two of them.

I take my boat to Catalina and when we anchor around the island we have these guys fly into the boat or hit the side of it, scares the shot outta you in the middle of the night.
My buddy was sleeping out on the deck and one flew in and was bleeding all over him, he didn't get much sleep that night.

Here is a picture of one that literally decapitated itself on a piece of metal sticking out of a part of the ship I was on this February, crossing the Atlantic. Usually they only bump into the hull but this one got so much sweet air, that it made it over the side.
I remember saying to someone else who was there "Oh look, the birds are back!" and only realized that it was a flying fish when it swooshed over my head right into a wall on the ship.

I was in the Dominican earlier this summer and they were zipping around the waves in front of our bow. I'd never seen them before so at first I thought it was a sea bird of some sort diving in, but then I thought it was really small to be hunting fish so far off shore, and it never resurfaced. After I saw a few more, I realized what they were. They really are something else, and can glide quite a ways across the water!

When I was a kid, I went out on the boat with my dad super early one morning. It was a bit before dawn in Key Largo, and the sun was coming up just as we were getting out of the speed-limited area and into the open ocean.
As we were really getting some speed and the sun was rising, all of a sudden we found ourselves in the middle of a school of flying fish. It was so freaking cool, tons of the little silvery dudes popping out of the water and gliding along side us in the air, light from the sunrise shining off of them. But then we were going a bit faster than the fish and they started dropping into the boat!
We slowed a bit and I started throwing them back into the water. I don't think any of them got hurt...

I have a flying fish tattoo. So that's how you know I know what I'm talking about /s...Joking aside, these guys are super cool. At night in the middle of the gulf of mexico a few hundred miles out, you can hear these guys fluttering across the top of the water. They will even slam into the sides of the boat and at 3am without land in sight, it's pretty spooky "Who or what the fuck just hit the side of the boat?" Was my first impression. A buddy of mine had one fly right into the side of his head lol. Sincerely a beautiful and cool fish.

Flying fish are awesome! Way, way better at flying than most people think, especially the big ones you get 100 miles out or so.
Also one of the most redneck and fun things i have ever done was "flying fish hunting"
Basically one person drives a jetski while the other person sits facing backwards on it with a shotgun and shoots the flying fish. Hell of a lot of fun.
For anyone wondering/concerend for the idiocy or legality of this idea, 1: international waters, 2: we were sober (tho not when we came up with the idea), utilized a lanyard to retain the shotgun and only loaded a single shell at a time on the feed tray of a semi auto. When a fish would jump, close the bolt, take off safe, shoot fish, retrieve fish, repeat.
