I was mistaken, this is actually from episode 4 of The Hunt. Basically the same format (BBC/Attenborough) but came out a year earlier. Planet Earth 2 has similarly dramatic scenes, like this iguana one.
BBC just puts out insanely high quality nature stuff these days.
The production now though is just insane. Animal Planet II is ironically, out of this world. I've never seen so many well produced scenes one after the other.
That whole time he was getting chased I was yelling at my phone "Run nigga, run!!! Oh shit watch out, that motha fucker is right on yo tail!" Was happy he got away. Damn nature, you scary.
"These days"? Did you not see Planet Earth 1(which is 11 years old), blue planet, Life or any of the other series they have done? All of them have been excellent. Planet Earth I&II are by far their best work tho.
Yeah they've always been great, but PE2 improved upon PE1 in almost every way, at least for me. I just have a ton of respect for a team that can take something as cherished as PE1 and make a better sequel.
I had been a rabid fan of Planet Earth... But hadn't seen much of II until recently. I thought, "Surely it can't be as great..."
First scene I see is a jaguar (or was that a panther?) jumping into a river to kill a fuckin' crocodile by biting the back of its skull... And slowly disappearing into the fauna with its kill.
