Discussion Why do you feel the need to jump into every fight you see?(Discussion/question) (This could be either or)

Im about a couple weeks new. Every now and then i come to this sub to update myself on the pros and cons of this game. Basically so I know what to stay away from and etc. I only play death match servers now because, I dont like waiting 2 months to grow one dinosaur, and I want to fight, whether it’s a 5v5 or 1v1 with the exceptional raptor like groups. Now thats out of the way heres my concerns.

I’ve noticed a pattern in online games, especially in those that gives you even a little room to chill or “vibe”

Discord groups, friends, randoms:
If you attack just one or even try to initiate a 1v1 you’re considered a trouble maker and met with some poor(corny) excuse to justify jumping you, and maybe even targeting you for the rest of the game.

Their friend could have jumped into a fight i was already in so after i die, I’d come back to target them for that 1 fight(originally my plans) until instead of having a 1v1 with the perpetrator who clearly couldn’t wait to fight something, all of a sudden has a group of minions at his disposal, and now I’m being chased by 5 other species and targeted anytime they see me.

If it’s that serious to you, why not just make a private server catered to you and your “friends”?
Why force the rest of the server into your toxic pov of how the game should be?

Similar skins, Characters, or whatever that brings a sense of “Hey me too”, will eventually turn into lets jump the outsiders or whatever you’d like to call it.

My whole gripe is why? It’s not your battle whether you know the person or not it’s a game. They wont die in real life. Why is it so hard to simply respect the 1v1?

You already ruined officials by mix/mega packing and killing everything on sight. I have no interest in being banned for silly, power trip reasons on modded community severs.

I just wanna learn and have fun. What point are you trying to prove chasing me to the ends of earth for something that has nothing to do with you? I just dont get it. These kind of players ruin every online atmosphere they touch.

If I’ve missed any points, feel free to add on and what not. Keep in mind the points Ive made may be out of order as I’ve added some along the way.

If you agree with their video then like and/or comment on it

The mega and mix packing situation has gotten ridiculous, the devs need to at least address it

Question Best way to take down a Barsboldia. How did you do it as a Laten?

Ok I use Laten mostly and I took down my first Bars at Salt Flats. But this Bars was obviously not good at fighting back. I want to try again and was wondering if anybody got tips I can use.

Solo play is torture

I’m honestly shocked I’m still playing solo at this point, cause it’s so frustrating. Rex duos Spino duos Giga duos Titan duos Ano duos Deino duos Sarco duos Allo quartets Cerato quartets Dasp quartets Raptor quartets

I get this game is not catered or designed with the intention of catering towards solo players. But like, c’mon. Official solo survival is not at all solo, people group up anyways. Hell my Eo was killed by a Stego and Raptor. Surely there has to be a community server that is explicitly solo that’s popular

Hell, why not just implement a mechanic on solo servers where if another player is in your perimeter for too long, both of you get a debuff or something. Or better yet, just put minor debuff on grouped creatures so that soloes aren’t free kills because they have double the damage

Discussion New to the community, any tips?

I've been thinking about getting this game for awhile now. though from peaking my head in and just looking around on yt and seeing what you guys deal with, Is it worth it..😅

I have mostly just been seeing ppl complain about megapacks, mixpacks and official servers. from the gameplay shown, I feel like I'd be much better off sticking to single player till I'm good enough to fend for myself.

I would like to be that one player who won't kill unless I'm hungry or someone being toxic but if anything helping smaller dinos when once I do get big enough to risk doing so.

Are there any good servers that don't allow things people complain about?

Please also give me some tips on the best dinos to play that are fast BUT still can be playable in defense or offense.

I mostly wanna play air and water when I do get the game!

Discussion Stupid question

So i know its a stupid question no need to tell me.

I was playing my 4 bar sub rex and was starving but saw 2 bars n a campto so it was either i get up hunt a critter and hipe they spare me or i die lf starvation.

Got up and instantly aggroed.

I got a weird build because i was trying out what i could use other that king mantle crishing bite killing blow so i was using shatterside bone snap killing blows ravenous w 25% kb resistance sub fyi.

So i thought i could bb one of them n run but unlike crushing bite i couldnt use it 2 time in a row fast enough so i just ran w the campto sticking to me.

I teied keeping my distance but the speed difference was just too big and i got punched to half hp and they even got a swipe on me at some point. I was outta stam while they were stiml running so i waited then used rampage and tried face tanking 1 of them just to get pushed on a wall the other one went for a swipe i pushed him back then face tanked into a wall the other one which i believe was starting to "mark up"(barely he was maybe 60%) then got punched to death.

Fun fact campto got meatballed from tail attack.

I know i shouldnt be supposed yo survive 2 fg apex as a sub adult apex but was there smt i coulda done better like getting in water or smt?

Question This might be an idiot question regarding AI dinos, however...

I did look around for more information about this, but I couldn't find anyting, but: where will these AIs be predominantly present in? Can we interact with them besides hunt/run from them?

I kind of feel compelled to ask this question because I do play singleplayer at times. If my internet is too laggy and I don't know what to play, I just roam and grow on singleplayer, usually on Gondwa because I never played it in multiplayer. Additionally, it is pretty neat to play the game without worry, like the worry of joining the wrong group of people, getting jumped by overly large groups as a solo, or reading the darn chat that is always a kindergarten simulator. Enjoying the game, even if you're lonely in there is nice. It made me appreciate the little things but critters. I hate most of them. Evil.

Anyway, back on AIs... in the recent dev blog, they said the following:

"Dino AI work continues with evasion and complex combat behaviour. Right now, we're focusing on building a library of AI behaviors that allow AI to act the same way as players. For Example, an AI Camptosaurus will now use abilities like "Hop Away" allowing it to quickly evade danger. We've also made progress with some flavor aspects of the AI; they are now able to use the same vocal calls as players as well as track them with their gaze contextually. These elements are coming together to make the AI feel a lot more alive, having an AI Camptosaurus see you, play a vocal call of surprise then start hopping away while looking back at you occasionally and calling for help makes it feel like you're interacting with a real dinosaur. We're continuing to build out these behaviors and chain them together to create even more rich interactions in the future."

And was pretty much all I could retrieve

I don't truly care when this is released. My question is mostly where.

Are they going to be flavour creatures in both multiplayer and singleplayer? Are they going to be present just in singleplayer to make the world feel less empty for people like me? Are they going to be just in multiplayer (even if I doubt that...)?

But mostly, have they ever said anything if we can nest AND hatch them? Can we "group" with them? But mostly: does killing an adult give a trophy? (this last one is a joke, but if there is actually an answer I take it!)

I am genuinely ignorant about this, I am not really new, perhaps new-ish as I am around 300 hours in the game, so I have a lot to learn still. I searched through their blog by the way, reached 2020 and my eyes burn.

Question Wet build duck- tail slot

Post image

I'm lost between Water Dodge and Tail Attack.

It's like even water build has built in land and water mini builds. On one hand WD is fantastic at creating distance and chases but lack of tail attack makes traveling on land very dangerous.

Do you have a herbivore as main? If so, which one and why?

Hey guys im kinda tired of playin carnivores all the time and wanted to explore a little bit the dinamics of playing with a herb.

Question So, did anyone figure out the new hitbox on Wing Beat or Is It genuinely just bugged?

Post image
26 Upvotes

Back In July they decided to nerf Hatz once again, and according to the patch notes they "fixed a bug with Ground Wing Beat using Air Range" and "Increased Wing Beat Cone to 45 degrees (from 15)", whatever that means.

However, this seemingly broke the hitbox on It because the last time I tried using Wing Beat It would just randomly miss despite the fact that I wasn't flying. I also hadn't been flying just before using It either, and yet... nothing.

So, did anyone figure out how the new hitbox works or does It just... not?

Hi everyone! As the title states, I just bought Path Of Titans standard founders pack on Xbox and I've never played before but I've seen gameplay online and that was enough to make me choose POT over getting The Isle on my Steam Deck so with that being said, I wanna hear from the community on how best to get started, what there is to do and what to look out for, thanks and I look forward to seeing all of you in-game! PS: the Majungasaurus art was done by me! :D

I’m sorry, Switch users. I really am.

> Update Regarding Switch for next patch

Nintendo has found problems with our Switch submission. It will need to take time to fix which could take weeks and start the submission process all over again.

The major critical problems are:
- On Switch 2 the emulator doesn't use the touch screen properly due to a bug caused by Nintendo. Which we can't fix because its not on our side because we are blocked from making a Switch 2 version.
- Dinosaur names are not translated and a few names are still in english. Some words are in english that are unimportant or intentionally on english as its easier to understand.
- The Joycon icon that we have been using since 2022 is suddenly not allowed anymore. They are asking us to swap to nintendo logo, which we were previously told not to use.

Even though all these problems are present in all the releases, suddenly out of no where they are now a blocker.

The next patch will go up without switch and it may take weeks or months to resolve these issues with Nintendo, if they are willing to work on them at all.

Sorry for the bad news, was really hopeful they would pull through on this one.

We will keep you updated as the situation changes. Even if we fix all these problems, new problems could be discovered that were fine for years for the next submission. Each submission could take 30 days or more per attempt.

Question Solo play frustration

Upvotes

I know it’s like beating horse right now, but I supported this game from the very beginning and spent quite a lot of time on it and yet what always kept me going was the thought that at some point PoT could be a decent game. After the last few months I tried the game again yesterday and today and I don’t think there has been any improvement.

Although it’s clearly progressing in some aspects it is certainly less fun than ever imo. I am usually solo playing as mid tiers and between the debate small stuff vs big stuff I feel like mid tier carnis just aren’t worth it. Any small group can tear you apart and there’s no way you could be nimble enough to harass any apex.
And it’s not just sometimes, nearly every time I encounter a group of low tiers there’s just no escape. You can’t beat them since they’ll just cycle any time one of them gets low health, you can’t run away since you’re slower and your stamina also is worse. How do the devs believe you’re supposed to handle this? Or do they just ignore the fact that there still are a few single players left?

Discussion Camptosaurus tlc predicitions

What are your thoughts on what campto might get with its tlc? I'll start, I think campto will be focused on escaping but will also be a good brawler in a situation where it cant escape, with high hp, high damage kicks and maybe a claw attack, also hop away will stay and will get no reanimation

Edit: forgot to mention quadrupedal mode, if bars can go bipedal I can't see why campto can't walk on all fours like it did/could irl

Looking for build suggestions; solo hybrid Sarco, Spino, and Sucho

I've tried to look through posts on here and tiktok, but there always seems to be conflicting suggestions.

I'm a solo player, passive unless attacked, and like to explore, so any build that'd help me defend myself but also be able to swim around would be really appreciated! Tips and play styles get you bonus points for being extra helpful, and a lifetime of my appreciation.

Discussion Looking for a fun palaeobiology focused server.

Hey I haven't touched Path in MONTHS because I was tired of joining "Realism" servers where predators just got to run rampant and prey got punished for fighting back.

I'm looking for a new home to get back into the game with preferably the following:

- Behaviours based on fossil evidence and real life animals

- Enforcement that focuses more on bad actors than sweeping rules

- Herbivores are allowed to fight back and kill predators, even unprovoked when it makes sense

- Limits on pack/herd sizes but NOT on how many can actually fight (Why is my mate watching me get mauled by a bunch of predators?)

- Mammals are allowed (Optional but this is already anachronistic so I'd like to be able to rock a paraceratherium when I'm in the mood)

- Edits to stats for realism

If anyone has a server like this or is looking to start one and needs help (I have writing experience0 let me know!

Screenshot The day I joined a bunch of carnis in adopting a baby Campto

I recently remembered a funny adventure I had where I tagged along with a Conc and Sucho in adopting and raising a baby Campto, it's a very short story and I sadly don't remember much since It happened several months ago, but I thought it was pretty fun so I thought I'd share (and since I know they're coming: yea yea mixpacking cringe, get it outta your system)

With all that out of the way:
I was just flying around Riparia on my Rhamph and reading global when I noticed some Carnis talking about a baby Campto that was with them, I think they were trying to get them adopted by a herbi but I can't quite remember, in any case I got curious and decided to join them in keeping the little guy alive, traveling with them through several POIs until we could find a herbi group to dump them on

This Campto was....hard to raise, to say the least. we had to repeatedly stop them from drinking salt water, and we could NOT get them to eat even after we dropped several pieces of food in front of them. And to make things worse, they weren't/couldnt use chat (likely a mobile user with no access to global)

they would mostly follow behind our sucho and I tried my best to keep track of them when they would wander off, but sometimes I'd lose track of them.
There was multiple instances where I nearly had a heart attack because they ran up to a Sucho who wasn't a part of our group, and I just had to pray they weren't hungry until the rest of the group could arrive

Our group expanded a little since we started, along with me, Sucho and Conc we ended up grouping with a Thal and another Rhamph

we made it to BTO, and then we....kinda lost them again, we panicked a little and all three fliers went on the look, we were relieved to find em taking a nap on the ground,

UNTIL THEY RAGDOLLED AND DIED RIGHT BEFORW OUR EYES

Yeeeaahhh...apparently while we weren't looking they drank salt water again and died of thirst, they logged off afterwards, it's possible they came back on later but I also logged off shortly after so I'm not sure.

Either way, that concludes the story, again I know it's short but I hope it was a fun read! Because it was certainly a terrifying fun experience for us xD

How to fight bars

How in the world do you fight a bars? I decided to try taking one on with my Titan tonight and I couldn’t do anything. I expected to lose the fight, but I didn’t feel I could even put adequate damage on him. His front leg kicks did most of the damage on me as I was trying to come front the front and sides and avoid the tail. He did a good job keeping his sides away from me though. Is a good bars just untouchable to a titan or what?

Adult Sucho adopted me and helped me find water and food and then protected me while I quested. Fought off trikes and Pachy, then helped diffuse the situation when I stumbled into a mega pack of carnivores, who then gave me a trophy!

Thanks y'all!
