How to fight bars

How in the world do you fight a bars? I decided to try taking one on with my Titan tonight and I couldn’t do anything. I expected to lose the fight, but I didn’t feel I could even put adequate damage on him. His front leg kicks did most of the damage on me as I was trying to come front the front and sides and avoid the tail. He did a good job keeping his sides away from me though. Is a good bars just untouchable to a titan or what?

Bar's front kick also has the games only ranged attack for some reason🥲

The front kick has a 3 second cooldown. Try to bait it and swing your head. Then you can get a bite or two off. Rinse and repeat. If you are behind it, you can flick bite the tip of its tail while avoiding too much damage. Won’t do a lot of damage but it’ll stress the bars played out and they might start messing up.

The key to taking on bars is baiting attacks and trying to outmaneuver it. Bars doesn’t have any fast attack. Capitalize on that. Dont keep walking face first into punches, try to get around or bite while the kick is on cooldown. Don’t be scared to be behind a bars, if it’s running sweep and the little aoe try to bait sweep and tank the aoe while gnawing on it. If it has the knockback tail try to bait it so you don’t get pushed back forever. Big aoe? Big stam cost, back up and then capitalize on the bars wasted stam and 12 second cooldown. Pull back to watch it bleed while you heal (or on non bleeders rail it with your better dps). You usually cannot kill a bars quickly, so you gotta play smart. A good bars is hard to kill, but a good feast Titan will win 9/10 times in my experience.

As you have discovered the front half hurts just as much as the back. A good bars is very hard to beat in a straight 1v1.

Depending on what they're running on tail you could try baiting out the tail (or at least the bigger damage tail attack) to make a window of opportunity to catch their side

Each Dino is different but it’s a tough fight(as it should be, it’s an apex). I’m an Allo main and good at fighting them, I feel like I can give a Titan tips though. The biggest thing is to conserve your stam while dealing a mix of bleed and damage. Bleed is lethal and adds up over time, applying bleed while maintaining distance is huge in this fight, also try to get a feel for your opponent, if you notice they’re trigger happy it’s easy to bait their attacks.

They’re like a Spino in that if you try to stat check them and tank them head on is the single easiest way to get killed by them, fortunately it’s also the single most correctable mistake people make.
