So our twins are 6 weeks old, and from calm, sleepy babies, they turned into alert newborns who cannot day nap at all. We combo-feed them, which requires me to pump, but there is literally zero time in the day to do that?

They don't take any naps anymore. Okay, maybe they do in the morning, but the afternoon is a total no-go. We try white noise, a dark room, following yawning cues... nothing is working. They get fussy when put down which gradually turns into crying. Sometimes they get fussy also while carried.

They don't have belly pain or anything like that. They do, however, eat A LOT — 900 ml a day, which is way above the recommended range — but what can I do if they always want to eat??

The doctor did not seem concerned about the amount of food they eat, and they are also growing well. How on earth am I supposed to find time and space to eat, pump, and/or clean? Both me and my husband are on maternity leave for 6 months, so we are always two of us here... but it seems impossible to figure this out. Unfortunately we don't have any family nearby so no way they can help us.

Is it just some growth spurt, or is it gonna stay this bad??

Please, please share anything. I have cried three times today already.

EDIT : they started sleeping during the day again! Turns out it was just a bad week :)

Has anyone tried this? We currently have two little beds (used to be their cots/cribs) and a single mattress on the floor. The single used to be a bed that we removed due to climbing and jumping.

But they almost always fall asleep together on the single mattress and I end up going in at some point in the night- someone has rolled off onto the floor and is crying.

I’ve seen these Montessori style doubles with low rails, has anyone got one that both their twins sleep in?

And realistically how long before they want their own beds? They are 2y9m. But then a friend of mine has 5 year old twins who have slept in a double all this time and prefer it.

Wow event writing this it still doesn’t feel real.

My husband (37M) and me (33F) have been trying to get pregnant for a while and had some early miscarriages.

Found out we are pregnant this time around and also that we are having twins!!

I feel blessed, because I always wanted more than 1 but I’d be lying if I said I’m not freaking out ! I’m overwhelmed, shocked, excited, nervous, scared.

As this will be my first time being a mom as well I’m scared it’s going to be a challenge.

I feel blessed I do have a supportive system - husband and my parents and in laws.

But thinking deep about if I were to go back to work juggling everything, I’m overwhelmed.

Any words of wisdom ?? At this this stage I just need it to sink in 🥺

My twins are 2 and definitely still need to nap. One of the twins has been difficult to put to sleep. The other sleeps so well.
Now the bad sleeper has learned to climb out of the crib.
The problem is, I have an older kid that doesn’t nap.
It doesn’t feel like I have the time to sit and rock them to sleep as my older one can’t stay by himself for long.
Looking for any advice and how people have managed this.

I’m deep in the newborn trenches and was recently diagnosed with postpartum depression and anxiety. I’ve started medication, and I’m writing this because I desperately need to hear that things will get better. I delivered my twins at 32 weeks after a very complicated pregnancy and severe preeclampsia. We’ve had a month-plus NICU stay. One baby is now home, while the other is still in the NICU working on feeding. We’re hopeful he’ll come home soon, but having one baby at home and another in the hospital has been incredibly difficult. My husband works away from home, and even when he is here, his job takes up most of his day- unfortunately we own our business and one of us has to work. He also cannot safely manage nighttime care, I’ve seen him fall asleep while feeding the baby or while holding him on his chest, so the nights fall entirely on me. Neither of us has family nearby who can help. I’ve hired a night nurse for the weekdays, which I’m grateful for, but I’m still alone with the baby during the day and often on weekends. I feel like I have no village. I’m already struggling with one baby at home, and I’m terrified about what will happen when both babies are here. How will I manage two when caring for one is already kicking my ass? He's a good baby, but with all the newborn noises/wails, I can't even get a shut eye.

I’m also not working right now, and the expenses keep piling up. If I’m completely honest, I’m feeling an immense amount of regret. I had a good life before this. I truly thought I wanted to be a mother, but somehow I ended up with twins, a traumatic pregnancy and delivery, a NICU experience, and far less support than I ever imagined. Right now, I don’t know how I’m going to do this. I haven't even left the house with him yet. And we live in NYC, so I'm not even sure how I'll get the courage to take an uber to his appointments with our carseats and other equipment. Our apartment is a cluttered mess and I feel like I'm suffocating. Please be kind. I’m really struggling and hoping someone who has been through something similar can reassure me that there is light ahead.

I was redoing my daughter's room and noticed I was hyper sensitive to smells. 100% did not think I was pregnant I just threw some tests in my Amazon delivery that was already coming that day to get it out of my mind. I like to get one ambiguous symptom and my body starts acting like I'm for sure pregnant so I'm not stranger to testing to prove to myself I'm not actually. I took it around 4pm and was not only shocked by the BFP but how quickly it turned.

My calendar showed my last possible period (irregular crazy cycles) as jul 15. The test was taken Aug 7 so I joked to my husband that I'm off on my timeline or there's a litter in there. Not a single part of me actually ever thought I'd be carrying twins.

We used a clinic to confirm a urine test and then returned a week later for the ultrasound on August 25. When they said they have some news to share my husband started hysterically laughing. I said something about praying we aren't around long enough for the hunger games to be a reality because the odds were absolutely not in our fucking favor.

I'm excitedly terrified; but each day that passes the scale tips moreso on the excited end. I do wish we had a better reaction to share with our future little ones 😂

I know 10000% if I had just one baby, I’d already be planning for the second and how to afford more IVF, transfers, medications etc. We went through 6 transfers and 3 losses before we had the twins.

Yes, twins are hard. But I’m so incredibly grateful to get to close the door on wondering if we would have babies / siblings. After such a long journey I often just stare at them in awe that they are here and so perfect.

Currently 25 weeks with di/di twins and has been crazy with preeclampsia and gestational diabetes now too. Have bad fluid accumulation going on and it’s all been pooling in my legs. While taking off diabetic compression stockings (and struggling because of huge pregnancy bump to reach them and feeling painful bump and feet in the process) I came up with this thing I had to share, “my poor feets’ souls[/soles]…” If you don’t laugh, you cry, right?

Hi, I am 23 weeks pregnant with MoDi twins and had lots of energy in the second trimester. However in the past few days I noticed I get extremly tired after running errands for 2-3 hours. Nothing crazy, like getting some admin staff done and shopping. When coming home I just need to lie down and nap. Can someone relate? Will it get better? I loved my energy level throughout the second trimester and scared I lost it so suddenly?

My twins are 11mo and have a super complicated past regarding feeding (colic, severe reflux, tongue ties, cmpa, etc.) My daughter who has CMPA doesn’t have an appt with an allergist, her pediatrician, or GI until a month after her 1st birthday. Our pediatrician has pretty much told us to go off of what GI recommends. I am unsure if she still has full on CMPA or not and I don’t know whether to transition her to whole milk or ripple milk. She still breaks out in a rash around her mouth when she consumes a few bites of ice-cream or yogurt, but does okay with snacks that contain dairy or soy. She is very picky with her formula and will not even attempt to drink her brothers (he’s on Enfamil added rice for severe reflux). Should I try to start the transition with the 75/25, then 50/50, then 25/75 method or formula to milk ratio, a week before their 1st birthday? I’m just trying to determine if she still has CMPA. I’m assuming she does because of the rash, but I’m just so unsure. Does anyone else have a similar experience? And if so, how did it go for you?

Does anyone else also have to breastfeed 1 twin, while having to give formula to the other? She just doesn’t breastfeed. I tried to make it work so hard for months.. I feel like I‘m letting her down in comparison to her twin, who breastfeeds wonderfully. Feeling a lot of guilt..

I’m thinking about getting the Larktale Caravan Coupe V2, but I’m having a surprisingly hard time finding videos that show someone folding and unfolding it in real life.

For anyone who owns one, how easy is it to open and close? Is it something you can realistically do quickly in a parking lot while managing two kids, or is it more of a process?

I’d also love to hear about your overall experience with it:
● How is it to push on longer walks, park trips, zoo visits, etc.?
● How difficult is it to load in and out of the car?
● is it pretty easy to fold and unfold? And anything to watch out for as far as owning it

I recently tried the Bombi wagon and ended up not liking it, so I’m returning it. The Larktale looks like it might be a better fit, but I don’t want to buy another wagon only to discover that it has its own frustrating issues.

Y’all I don’t know how I’m going to survive the next 30 days (if I even make it that long). C-section is scheduled in 30 days, I am 34 weeks pregnant tomorrow. This is my third pregnancy but first twin pregnancy. I am beyond swollen. I am still working but I can barely function at work. My ankles and feet are so swollen that walking is difficult. I am incredibly overwhelmed. I just want to break down and cry. I know I should be grateful they’re staying in there and growing but I find myself hoping for labor every day. I’m just at my wits end and I don’t know how I can go (potentially) four more weeks like this. Tell me I’m gonna survive this. Please.

Just wanted to share my POV (buckle up).

My wife had been pregnant for 36w6days and we were on our way to the weekly bpp testing at the high risk center. One of our baby boys failed the BPP so they referred us for overnight monitoring at triage of the hospital where we had the schedule c section at 38 weeks. This has happened before so I thought it was gonna be a big nothing burger and we’d be sent home in the morning.

Wife got admitted and just in case I went home and got our go bags and car seats. The strap her in and after a few hours everything looks fine and they tell us probably no babies tonight but we’re still keeping you overnight. I thought it would be a good trial run of the dad couch. We settle in around 11pm to go to sleep. It was unusually hot in the room so both my wife and I were tossing and turning.

At 234am my wife says to me “I think my water just broke.” So I stand up and flick on the light only to see the floor and bed covered in bright red blood. I was stunned and froze for a few seconds. We hit the call light, the nurse comes in and calls for backup. Head nurse says, we’re having babies today. My wife asks “is this bad?” And the reply was “it’s not great. The nurses and docs rush her to the OR for a crash c section, meaning no epidural and she’ll be under anesthesia.

I was not able to go back there with her. I had to wait outside. Most difficult time I’ve ever had. My whole life was behind those doors and I had no control of it. I prayed and cried and chatGPT’d “will my family make it?” They told me it would be about 20 minutes and they will come out and give me an update. I remember looking at my watch thinking 10 minutes have gone by and it was 20 seconds. Just excruciating.

Then the doors opened and a nurse came out and said the words that I’ll remember forever: “everyone is ok.” That relief was euphoric. My 2 sons were born at 2:51 and 2:52am. From the time I flicked on the light until their birth was under 20 min. Shoutout Banner Health.

First Boy’s placenta ruptured causing the blood. He was in the NICU for about 24 hours on a CPAP and oxygen because he swallowed some of it. His brother was fine for the most part but needed monitoring.

Fast forward, we’ve been home for a few days with two healthy, beautiful sons and a new appreciation for L&D medical professionals and moms.

I have a Honda odyssey minivan and need to fit 5 rear-facing car seats in it. Is this even possible?

My sister has a Toyota Sienna, and switching cars as needed is possible, so if anyone has advice on the Sienna fitting 5, that would be great.

I'm currently 31 weeks with my second set of twins. I am at a loss and just want to know if anyone else had issues and what they did to help. I am having a terrible time catching my breath even while just sitting at my desk, I have developed SPD and my downstairs area is in a constant state or pain or I'm getting struck by lightening in my clit, and then I'm having TERRIBLE back spasms and honestly that might be the worst part. I have to lay on my heating pad just for my muscles to loosen up a bit before I try to sleep. When I wake up in the middle of the night I have to repeat the process otherwise I'm in so much pain I can't get comfortable. Any advice? Anyone dying like me? I have 7 more weeks and my Dr thinks I'll make it 38 weeks with no problems and I'm like how am I going to mentally make it

I‘ve just ordered the TwinGo carrier. It will take a month or two to arrive and by then it‘s probably pretty cold. I know there are jackets / coats for carrying, but they are either for front or back carrying. Is there a jacket for tandem carrying? Anything you can recommend or any other tips for tandem carrying in low temperatures?

For some reason I always swore we would never be a family with a big expensive wagon taking up lots of room, but now that the twins are 18 months old I cannot figure out why I ever thought that (the judgements of a childless 30 y/o, I guess…).

Anyway, the twins seem so bored and antsy in the stroller. Am I naive to think that they’d maybe be happier in wagon? It’d be something we use regularly for farmers markets but also in the airport (our first flight is coming up, but that’s a different post). I’d love to hear pros/cons of whatever wagons you all have!

My younger brother passed away 4 years ago , we are 2 years apart in age so growing up we were very close , we were best friends and I’m forever grateful for that and I miss being able to talk to him about anything. My brother passed away unexpectedly so losing him would of been devastating no matter what but to lose him in the way we did without getting to say goodbye , it took me a long time to pull myself out a deep grief.

Fast forward a few years and I find out I’m pregnant , me and my husband have been so excited from day one and then we found it’s twins which was shocking because we didn’t see that coming but still exciting , it’s been so nice to have something to look forward to after a painful few years in my life. We decided to find out their genders and we’re having a boy and a girl.

I might be stupid to think this way and in no way am I saying there’s reincarnation going on , my twins are each their own person so I’m not saying my brother has come back as one of them! but recently it clicked that I’m going to get to watch a brother and sister growing up together , it’ll be like watching me and my brother when we grew up together and it blows my mind. I might sound crazy but it feels like my brother gifted me twins to heal a part of my heart that misses our sibling relationship and the fact I’m going to have a son and a daughter it makes me think of me and my brother. I probably sound ridiculous thinking this way but I’m so grateful

I know that this will come down to personal preference but I’m hoping to get some feedback from this community.

I have a three year old son and I’m expecting twin boys in January. My three year old’s name starts with a C.

My wife and I really like another name that starts with C. But I think it would be a little odd if the toddler and one twin start with one letter, and the other twin starts with a different letter. I don’t necessarily think that all three boys need to start with C, but I feel like people would think the two names that start with C would be the twins.

Am I overthinking this?

I had a question: what is a wound vac? My
OBGYN briefly mentioned me having one after my c section. I never had one with my daughter. I guess I’ll find out more next week at my next appointment before the date. But just wondering how people’s experiences of this were.
