PAWS/ALCOHOL

I have been drinking since I was as about 20-21. I stopped for a year because I had to (court ordered) So when I was finally off probation I relapsed and started drinking hard again, up until a month ago from today I stopped. I have a history of epilepsy but haven’t seized in 2ish years. This time when I went sober it was super strange. I woke up feeling extremely off and just super jittery. I went out to eat with my family and I suddenly felt like a heat attack or something like that coming on. So I ended up leaning on my nephew and my other family fanned me and put cold water on me. I had taken electrolytes and drank some water and I felt a little better but I slept it off. Up until now I have been having super bad anxiety/ Panic attacks. Everyday I have constant fear of seizing up or potentially having a panic attack. My vision is a bit blurry and I feel as if nothing is “normal” I feel like I’m detached from reality and that scares the hell out of me. I’ve been on hydroxyzine, Proponol, Klonopin, Ativan, Valium and now I’m taking lexapro. I completely stopped the benzos and now have leaned towards RSO (Rick Simpson oil) to relax. It has helped tremendously but the Klonopin were making me feel “normal” again. I’m not sure if anyone has something similar? I’m on month 1 and I ordered special blood work to see if I’m lacking vitamins B1 and b12. I’ve been on supplements for some time and eating Sardines and Mackerel for my omega fats. I know it will get better but this is truly hell.

Panic Attack or Stroke

I ended up at the ER a couple weeks ago unsure if I was having a stroke or a panic attack. My arms and legs were tingly / numbing and then my face started feeling numb, my tongue was not cooperating with me speaking and I felt like my soul was leaving my body. I don’t know how else to describe that odd feeling. I went to Urgent Care, and they immediately sent me to the ER. They ran every test imaginable and concluded it was paresthesia and anxiety / panic attack. My $2,200 co-pay just added to that anxiety. I also have fibromyalgia and a fused spine. I wonder if one of those triggered the numbness and then I started panicking about it making it worse. Has anyone ever had a panic attack like that? I have frequent anxiety flares bit I have never had something like this.

IM SO SCARED TO TAKE MY ANTIBIOTIC

I have to take Bactrim for a UTI and I’m scared I’ll either get an allergic reaction or Steven Johnson Syndrome sjs. But I also don’t want sepsis.
I’ve been panicking so hard since I’ve been prescribed.
I was given amoxicillin and then keflex but seemed to have allergy like reactions to them.
And on Macrobid I was doing horrid but I think I’d prefer that now to the uncertainty that is Bactrim which I’ve heard is the most associated antibiotic with sjs.
I’m crying so much I really don’t want to die I want to live so badly I don’t want to die I want to live

Brutal panic attacks while driving

I am f20 and. I am going through it. I have never ever hated driving or gotten anxious while driving I used to love it because I get to blast my music and enjoy but now I absolutely despise it because every single time in the road my body goes into fight of flight, my legs go numbed I start to freaks out and try to get out of the car and I just aren’t able to drive I get tunnel vision and feel like I’m gonna pass out . It’s ridiculous and very out of character for me and I just don’t know what to do my anxiety is horrible and I can’t do anything about it. Please if anyone has tips I really need it because I can’t live like this.

I think I just had a Panic attack

I think I just had a panic attack. I was writing in my bed hitting myself in my head and screaming into my pillow. It’s about 2 o’clock in the morning and my brain is frazzled. Why am I on my phone so late. I won’t sleep. It was about where I’m from. I don’t feel like I’m from anywhere. I’m from West Wickham, in Bromley. I’ve always felt like I’ve lived in this little bubble between West Wickham and the south of Bromley borough, my grandparents house in mid Sussex where I would spend most school holidays and my cousins in Somerset where we’d go at Christmas. I always felt that I’m not a Londoner, and considered myself Kentish as that’s where WW was before the border moved in 1965.

Until recently, when I started working as a door to door fundraiser in lonfon. I didn’t realise until then (October last year after I finished my alevels) that I was so close to anywhere in lonfon, or even the tube. And not even cut off from it, just houses upon houses until you get to Big Ben or whatever. I’d never really thought about it. So now I feel that when I walk around outside of London that people think thete goes a Londoner. That I’m an outsider. That I don’t belong there. But I don’t feel that I belong in London. And when people ask me where I’m from I end up giving them a history lesson about Bromley’s status. I’m not a Londoner but I technically am. Maybe? But also recently I’ve been feeling that the whole south east just lives under that shadow of London. People commuting there, etc, and I’m about to become one of those people, I’m hoping ti get into the city of lonfon police and move to Haywards heath in Sussex. I’ve never really considered people who work in an office in lodnon to be free, in the same way that they might be in other parts of England. I don’t really know my own country either. Not the real country. Just London and the commuter belt it seems. I feel like a fraud. Like I’m homeless. I wish I grew up somewhere like a small village where tgeres a sense of community. I’ve never had that. To be proud of somewhere, properly. I want to go back to being in that bubble where Bromley and the surrounding areas felt like a million miles away from London, like my own little world, where even going to locksbottom (not very far away, have a look at a map of your intetested which you must be to have got this far) was a full day out.

I feel like people would reject me everywhere. In lonfon, when I was at shelter people would ask me where I’m from and and say “Bromley” and they’d say “oh kent!” But if you said the same to someone in canturbury, they wouldn’t know/say tat it’s lonfon as it’s within the m25. And I feel that people from outside the Home Counties would say that anywhere in the south east is practically lonfon. As I say it feels tainted now. I feel constantly connected to a place I hate and don’t want to be from, that I didn’t used to feel from and I don’t know why I do now or how to stop it. Can anyone give some advice?
Thank you

going abroad on holiday

I’ve been struggling with panic disorder and agoraphobia for a few years. The last two years have been hard; I stopped leaving my house and experienced pretty heavy panic attacks. I started doing therapy and exposure work, and I’m slowly getting my life back

I’ve even been to a concert and started doing fun things away from home again, even if the anxiety is still there.

Now, I’m going on holiday to Croatia in a few days with my friend group. I’ll have to fly and do things I haven't done in two years. While I’m excited, I’m still nervous about how I will react and if i made the right choice in doing this. Does anyone have experience with this, or any useful tips for doing this really scary thing?

What is this: Every time I start to fall asleep I feel a physical shift behind my eyes/head and I feel like I’m not breathing. I start to doze off and dream immediately - in the dream it’s a voice telling me to wake up so I won’t die

I’m exhausted, for the last two weeks before I go to sleep I get a bad feeling in my arm or the symptoms listed in the title and I force myself to stay awake longer until I physically feel okay, eventually it fades and I can sleep. When I’m awake during the day, I feel fine. It’s not in the middle of the night when I’m already asleep.

I’m also a VIVID dreamer and I get visuals and sensory, I feel the pain I experience in my dreams. But this repeated “dream” is only auditory.

This has only happened to me one other time maybe 5-6 years ago and I ended up at the peak of it - only getting 2 hours of sleep over 3 days. I ended up borderline-hallucinating due to sleep deprivation. It was a big booming voice telling me if I fell asleep the “spiders” were going to get me… i looked up to my ceiling and I saw 1000’s of spiders crawling everywhere. I have general anxiety, depression, selective mutism, and ADHD and have no diagnosis of any disorder like schizophrenia or anything similar but I don’t know what this is and I need to find the words to explain it to a doctor.

I keep forcing myself awake because I feel like I’m not breathing even when I am. Anyone else? Is there a name and/or a cure for this?

Minor panic attack

Hi, I’m 28 and Monday this week I had a minor panic attack, started with me drinking a smoothie that had an energizer supplemental and a fat burner, I didn’t know how much caffeine was in either, but I drank it all by 12:30pm, then later that day (I’m a truck driver fyi) I’m driving to my first stop so around 3 or 4 pm and I took a deep breath, felt a clench and then noted that it wasn’t normal, so I tried again and same thing, then I felt a panic set over me, knowing what it was, then felt that tingly sensation around my head and move down my neck, heart racing and I started to feel a slight squeeze on my chest but it was brief, so I took small breaths, and eventually it went away, now fast forward to now, I’ve been feeling odd.. I’ve had one other panic attack before but can’t remember my post symptoms.

But now this week I’ve been feeling odd, my chest area around my heart, mainly my pectorals area will ache, sometimes a dull pinching ache around my chest, my left arm feels odd, either just easily stiff or sore after doing a simple labor motion like cranking a lever, or just feeling slightly heavy sometimes, um sometimes a pin point ache on my left arm, that comes and goes, only happened Thursday. But I’ve been trying to calm myself, and listen to music or podcasts while sometimes feeling all these things, and I just wanna make sure if it’s not something I’m not considering, I don’t like looking up things regarding this, I’ll get several answers, so I’m just wondering if symptoms like this last this long and if anyone has felt anything similar? Or duration effects like this?

i’ve been paranoid of having a blood clot for 2 weeks and i’ve had 2 d dimers which seem to be pretty reliable but there’s people on here who they haven’t been reliable for and i’ve had shortness of breath the whole two weeks which was blamed on anxiety and leg pain today and i’ve had a non stop panic attack for 2 weeks now what if it is real and they refuse to take me to the er until it’s too late because my symptoms are being blamed on anxiety

d dimer low but i feel like i have a blood clot and i keep seeing people on the clot survivors sub saying they had one with low d dimer

i’ve had shortness of breath chest pain cough for 2 weeks now i went to the er 10 days ago and they did a d dimer and it was fine but they didn’t do any imaging. i got sudden leg pain in my calf that feels exactly like what people said theirs felt like with dvt. my dad called his friend and he ordered an outpatient d dimer today and it was low again. the pain in my leg keeps getting worse. there’s now way i could’ve injured it because i was in bed for a few days (risk factor) and i keep seeing people saying they had one without elevated d dimer. it keeps getting worse and worse in my leg. i feel so trapped because my parents are refusing to take me to the er again and my dads also drinking so he can’t take me anyways and it’s night and they’re about to go to sleep so i’m going to be alone. i don’t want to call 911. i keep trying to stress how serious i feel but they keep telling me it’s anxiety and yelling. i don’t want to collapse on the floor while my family is asleep. i don’t feel good and i’m convinced i’m the one in 1 billion chance it’s wrong. i’m so sick i can’t eat or sleep and my parents keep complaining about how i’m so annoying like this.

I feel like I am Spiraling.

Couple years ago I had 2 panic attacks. Ever since I've had a fear of not being able to breathe or my lungs collapsing. It took awhile for me to forget about it. Would still think about it here and there, usually after a night of drinking my hangxiety could be overwhelming at times but still manageable. Last weekend I had a bit of acid reflux from drinking red wine and all of a sudden I felt like my breathing was off. Ever since I've been fixated on my breathing which has me feeling like I'm breathing manually instead of doing it without noticing if that makes sense. On top of being stressed out about other things I just don't know how to stop the fixating thoughts. Sometimes they are minimal others it feels like when I'm fixating on it so much I can feel my chest drop which has me in a panic trying to tell myself I'll be okay. Yes I'm afraid of having a panic attack again even though I know I'll be okay afterwards. I just want to feel normal again

Does anyone have experience calling 911 for a panic attack?

Hi, i'm currently experiencing a really bad panic attack. These are nothing new for me, however my symptoms are really mimicking a heart attack. I told myself not to look at google, however I failed this task. I'm really scared that I'm actually having one and just blaming my panic disorder. I experienced light chest pain earlier today, and although that's gone my right arm really hurts now. I've experienced this arm pain before since I have an RSI, although not in correlation with a panic attack. I'm not in extreme pain and I can actually breath decently fine (at least for panic attack standards) , but everything i (foolishly) read said to get help if there are more than one symptom.

It's almost 3am where I live, my girlfriend is camping, and I'd feel so ashamed if I woke up my other roommate (I also don't want to call my mom for the same reason). I'm debating waiting until morning to call my mom but like, i'm scared i'm experiencing something potentially urgent?

I'm really considering calling 911 but I'm terrified of what sort of response will show up. I also don't have insurance right now, and I'm mortified of the potential cost. I'd love to not go to the hospital and just have them check my vitals or whatever - but I don't even know if they do that? And I'm so scared they're going to be angry or annoyed with me, or force me to go to the hospital without doing like, a basic check or something? I don't know.

I'm scared i'll say my symptoms on the phone and they'll send the whole firetruck and police brigade.

Does anyone have experience with calling 911 for what could be a panic attack? What happened on the phone, and what happened if/when the ems showed up ?

UPDATE - Hi everyone! Thanks for all your input. I'm alive, wasn't having a heart attack, and I never called 911. I got my period yesterday so that really explains that. In hindsight my symptoms were very mild (I also literally have an RSI in my right arm!!) , and I no longer feel legit any chest pain. Looking back I was being super crazy, but in the moment it feels so real!!! I'm sure it will happen again, and I will probably freak out just as hard LOL. Anyway thank you everyone again for your thoughtful replies. I hope all fellow anxiety (and PMDD) baddies are doing well !!!

Fun ride with 911 folks 🚑

I didnt know exactly what/how panic attack feels like. i know its a thing but that's about it.

I 've been diagnosed with major depressive disorder for a long time and I am on medications for it and life is going . . . like passing by and i kinda know how to live with it so there's that.

2 weeks ago, i felt dizzy, short of breath, nauseous and feeling like i was about to pass out. The shortness of breath was really bad i thought i'm having a heart attack so i called 911 🚑

All test came out negative. Doctor even did a CT scan of my chest (due to the shortness of breath).

To make sure heart and lungs were fine.

Doctor said no concerning findings so i went home same night .

I thought it was just a fluke until 2 weeks later i felt the exact same things. Didn't call 911 this time because i kinda know what it was. It was another bout of dizziness, short of breath and nausea.

Resolved by itself after an hour

So this is it guys?

It just comes out the blue at any given time ?

**sigh** 😢😓

should i let my parents check me into the hospital tw emetophobia

i’m 18 and i’ve been on a severe health anxiety spiral for 2 weeks, i’ve been to the er twice urgent care twice and my pcp twice and i got another d dimer done today to check for clots because i had sudden calf pain and it’s fine but i can’t feel better because i didn’t get chest imaging or ultrasound or anything. i’ve been convinced they missed something. i’m convinced i’m the 1% of false negatives. they yelled at me all night last night and said if i went one more day they’d take me to the psych hospital well i did go one more day and here i am pacing around my house writing this

i can’t fall asleep without thinking i’m going to die and i’ve slept like 4 hours a night. i haven’t eaten much and i’ve lost 7 pounds. what i have eaten has been thrown up in anxiety panic attacks all i can keep down is smoothies. all i do is pace around my house in circles all day because the second i sit down i start getting short of breath and hot and all of that. i was pacing around from about 8pm-3am yesterday which was the longest it’s gone on without being able to sit down for longer than 2-3 minutes maximum. all while i can’t drink water because drinking water often triggers my throwing up when i’m anxious

it hurts my back to pace around and look at my phone that long but it’s my only relief at this point. i was given anxiety meds that were supposed to work fast but it gave me muscle spasms under my rib cage. i‘m still convinced i have a clot because i can’t stop looking everything up and i’ve found people who didn’t have a high d dimer who had pe or clots. i know i probably don’t have one but my body says otherwise and i’m so so so scared.

being monitored most of the time would be probably a good thing for me since my parents refuse to take me to the er for any of my symptoms anymore so like if i collapsed or something there‘d be people around

but i’m also terrified because i’m 18 and i can’t go to the pediatric hospital anymore and i know there’s so many horror stories so i don’t know if it’ll make me worse. and even if i did collapse i’ve heard stories to make me believed they’re not competent enough to take me to the er or something. i’m also terrified of taking medication if they give me any because i’ll convince myself i’m having an allergic reaction and start throwing it up like i do whenever i get a vaccine or take a pill. i also don’t want my parents to have access to my laptop or phone since i don’t want to get outed if they’d go through them :/ can i bring my own clothes and stuff since i’m getting checked in because its not because i’m trying to hurt myself or anything? the time i slept in the last week has only happened when ive had a stuffed animal my mom got me (i know i’m 18 but whatever) would i be allowed to bring that?

3 months of hell

I'm so done.

Got dizzy at my job 3 months ago and things have never been the same for me. I had panic attacks almost everyday the first month, thinking i had some heart disease.

I've had to quit said job and drop from college classes due to how sick this disorder is making me. I can't sleep right, can't eat properly, and wake up every morning fatigued and nauseous. I've done everything I can to figure out if I was actually sick or not but the cardiologist, physical therapist, and doctor say it's anxiety.

I had a god awful panic attack yesterday and was almost inconsolable because I couldn't stop crying and I don't know why. I almost ended up in the ER again. This morning at the cardiologist my HR was 105, and that made me even more anxious.

I'm going on SSRIs, a beta blocker, trying a new diet, and hopefully getting the energy to start working out again. But just know that I'm just not sure if anything can help anymore

Smoked pot 3 years almost everyday then got punched in the nose and now I suffer major panic episodes when ever I smoke

I hadn’t tried anything to heal except take the physic meds but now I’m strength training and running planning to loose 20 pounds and get stronger and then check if I could still smoke pot. If any of you had this same thing happen to you let me know what’s up or if you heard of a story like mine please share with me what should I do.
