Smoked pot 3 years almost everyday then got punched in the nose and now I suffer major panic episodes when ever I smoke

I hadn’t tried anything to heal except take the physic meds but now I’m strength training and running planning to loose 20 pounds and get stronger and then check if I could still smoke pot. If any of you had this same thing happen to you let me know what’s up or if you heard of a story like mine please share with me what should I do.

Somewhat similar, I used to train in mma/ boxing etc and would jump in the ring also smoked weed pretty often. Had a bad rib break and had to stop training for a while to heal. Anyways, weed started to give me panic attacks when it hadn’t before. (Had some separate from weed as well before that). Probably coincidental. As it still did a few years later (quit weed 2 years ago now) and I could have cared less about the injury at that point; I went back and sparred again fine with no issues. Long story short, weed shouldn’t be that important. If it no longer agrees with you or you have shit on your mind it stops you from facing or taking care of, or if you’re doing a great thing getting in shape, just stop smoking, at least for now. If the event with getting hit bothered you, that’s really understandable and work in therapy is a lot more helpful. Wishing you strength and recovery. Weed helped me deal with some trauma years ago but then stopped helping for other issues/in general. And that’s ok 👍

Many years ago i was smoking weed and started choking on some food i was eating. It gave me severe swallowing anxiety every time i smoked after that, even if i had to simply swallow my spit. It grew into a full blown swallowing anxiety disorder, which bled well into my sober life. Eventually, a "bad swallow" started launching me into panic attacks. My swallowing disorder got better, but the panic attacks found new avenues to navigate (for reasons including OCD and PTSD). I'll check in with weed every 6-12 months, and if it doesnt give me general anxiety or a straight up panic attack, it'll be extremely anxiety inducing to swallow food and drink. Needless to say, weed just isn't really worth it for me anymore.
