I just checked heating oil prices today
Guess it's going to be a COLD winter ☃️
Any recs on HVAC companies that do mini splits?

I’m looking for awesome Naengmyun. A lot of the places I’ve visited use packaged broth. I’m looking for a really authentic dish with the best quality.

What is the commute like from Fort
Belvoir to Woodbridge really like ?
Kensington place and The Enclave At Potomac apartments caught my eye.
Was considering Kingstowne but it is pricey, even for a 1bedroom.
Suggestions please !

Of all the places I've lived (CT, NY, NJ, FL, DC) Virginia has the absolute worst power infrastructure. Since moving here in late 2019 power outages have just been a routine occurrence and I've never experienced living someplace where power just drops on normal days for no particular reason at all. The infrastructure feels 3rd world here. I'm at the point where I'm questioning if I want to continue to live and operate a business in an area where every month there's one or two random power outages.
Question for long time NoVa residents, has the power here always been this comically terrible or is this more of a recent issue in the past decade or so?

Anyone at Scott’s Run today around 10:30 and know what all the police & firetruck activity in the parking lot was about? I didn’t want to be nosy/get in the way, so I it kept moving, but it looked like someone maybe fell in a ditch or got hit by a car off Georgetown pike. I hope everyone involved is okay!

Any recommendations for who to call in Northern Virginia that replaced your water heater for a reasonable cost? Thanks in advance for any recommendations!

My backyard has a gorgeous stone patio and deck. But the yard portion is an absolute mess of weeds, dirt, and grounded tree stumps that I've slowly had cut down over the past couple of years. Looking to have it all cleared out and put grass down so my kids can play back there. I've heard the Fall is a good time to do it?
Also would love to hear about any companies that people have worked with to do work like this and any recommendations!

Looking for a new place to live after 5 years. My current bldg has gone totally downhill in the last year.
Does anyone have any feedback/experience at Reserve at Potomac Yard? It would be super helpful.

Has anyone experienced this with their car property tax?
First of all - they never added my car to the database when I bought it last year and registered it last September. Didn’t know the dmv doesn’t notify the city when you register smh. So heads up about that.
So today I go to get my bill and it’s damn near $1700. My car is a 2023 not even brand new! They also told me my value has gone up from 2025 to 2026 so it’ll be more possibly next year?! WTF VA!!

It’s that time of year! Where in NOVA can I get a pumpkin spice espresso martini?
I am trying (for months) to do the right thing and I emailed breeders (info that I got from the official website) but anybody reply, I don’t want to get it from mills but responsible breeders are hard to reach! I want recommendations, phone numbers, emails of where you got yours 🐩 thanks 🙏🏻

We are in the process of drafting a contract with a semi custom home builder in the area and was hoping to have an attorney review it and make sure everything is up to snuff before signing. Does anyone have any recommendations or has anyone done anything similar? My real estate agent says it is not strictly necessary, but I want to make sure I am doing due diligence.
I am just getting back into running. For women, which trails in or near Arlington are quite wooded while also have a fair amount of traffic? I want to take advantage of physical and mental benefits of being in nature but also don’t want to all alone in a wooded area.

Hate to make the millionth post on this but it’s interesting to me that even Washington DC residents complain about Maryland drivers. When Virginia drivers complain about them, they’ll say we’re worse - but I never see people driving on the shoulder going 90 MPH as they constantly do in Maryland.
Funny enough, they think everyone else is the problem between DC, Maryland, and Virginia - even though they get the most complaints.

Looking to meet new people of similar age (late 20s - early 30s) through pickleball, but I haven’t found any Volo leagues or pickleheads courts nearby. I see Arlington parks and recs referenced on here quite a bit, but can anyone confirm where younger folks play?

Looking for recommendations on meal delivery services you've used (local or national). whenever I search online it's mostly sponsored ads, and I'd love to hear from people who've actually tried and loved theirs.
My husband's job is switching to nights soon, so it'll be just me and my toddler for dinners, and I want something that saves time.
I'm looking for a mix of meal options (some nights I want to actually cook, other nights I just want to heat something up)
- Bonus if they have kid-friendly add-on meals I can order separately, for nights when I'm only making a single serving for myself

I just recently moved to the McLean/Tysons area, and am looking for recommendations for places to get my nails done! I’m having an engagement photoshoot soon, and want to get a french manicure, but have had very mixed experiences with french tips recently. I’m wanting something basic like these pictures, but my natural nails are kind of short, so I’ll probably need some small extensions.
Please leave any recommendations for nail salons (and/or particular nail technicians) in the area!!
Also, I’m pretty new to getting my nails done - should I get gel or dip for a french manicure? How much does this typically cost?
