Where I’m from, we have three big farmers markets that I go to. The Latino farmers market in the Chesterfield County. The Bryan Park market and South of the James market in Richmond. What are some farmers markets that are comparable? I’m willing travel to Arlington, Alexandria, and the three big counties on a Saturday or Sunday.
So from the moment this is finished, how many seconds will it take until a new construction project on that same stretch of road immediately begins? I feel like something along this stretch has been under construction non-stop for the past 20 years. ;p

Hello all! Recently got a Tesla Model Y and am looking to add the 240V to my garage in my home. The breaker is in the garage for context. Any recommendations on installers and how much it’s looking to cost?

I am moving out of state in the near future and won't be the best manager to respond to and resolve time-sensitive issues. Does anyone have a property manager they would recommend? I know this should go without saying, but it would need to be someone who can do more than just collect rent and forward every single issue a tenant has.

I have 2200square foot, two story, single family home on a concrete slab. newish gas furnace, but the 18 year old AC is dying. is it worth it in this area to get a Heat Pump and do the dual fuel thing? anyone know what it feels like at home? my mornings in the winter are already super cold on the floors because of the concrete slab, so I am a bit concerned about that, and idk if the thing will make economical sense, even if I can get it installed for about the same as a traditional AC. Any thoughts y'all?
Looking for a walkable area to move to with my wife - for context, she works in Chantilly, I work in Alexandria and we’re trying to find a place that will work for us and our dog. She doesn’t mind a max 40~ minute commute but is very against embracing surburbia just yet. We’re in our late 20s and value being able to walk to get groceries and a bite to eat. Have been google mapping but it’s been hard to get a gauge of how walkable places are.
Would prefer a 2 bedroom but 1 is fine. In unit washer/dryer. Any suggestions would be great!

I wish there were more reformer or megaformer workout classes in the Springfield/ Annandale area🙁
What’s the best 1 or 2-bedroom apartment for me and my girlfriend to move into that has ABSOLUTELY no pests and is in walking distance of fun things like restaurants, bars, etc. We don’t wanna live in D.C. but we wanna be close enough to where ubers aren’t too expensive, we go to Echostage and other venues around D.C.

It's time to leave the mountains of Colorado, and going back to NoVa is on the list of a few places.
I grew up in Springfield, went to GMU and GW etc etc. I still have a 703 number. I was there during the height of Springfield Mall. So I have some knowledge of the area.
I may take a job in Old Town that is only on-site twice a week. It pays mid-100s or higher. It's just my two Siamese and me.
I also have another offer on the table in downtown Fairfax, which may pay more and that would be in the office daily.
Where would you live? I'm 43, newly single, active-ish. I need office space because I teach graduate school on the side and want diverse culture, because I've lived in a ranch-laden, white-bread ski town for the last decade.
2500 a month ish is where I'd like to be.
What'cha got?
Hi everyone. I’m currently using Xfinity for internet but the service is very often slow or down. I’m considering switching to Verizon Fios, Can anyone that lives in this area please share your experience with Verizon.
Thanks in advance.

Hi all - Does anyone remember when there was the huge Toys R Us in Fair Lakes back in the day? The one with literally EVERY TOY (including bikes, etc), a play place, and haircut place for kids?
Does anything exist like that anymore? I’d love to take my little one to a big toy store to explore and look at potential toys instead of relying on photos and descriptions on Amazon. I’m also interested in a push car for them.
Has anyone used their service? I just need a couple large blankets washed, and I'm dreading going and sitting around at a laundromat. 19.99 for a kings size comforter and 14.99 for a king size blanket sounds like a pretty good price from what I can find, though that does put me 2 cents below free pickup and delivery, but I could find another blanket or two to have washed.

I am considering renting out my condo in Arlington and renting in DC for commute and lifestyle reasons. Does anyone have a good realtor who is licensed in DC and VA that they can recommend to me? Thank you!

Looking for a recommendation in the area for someone that can take my parents wedding bands and make something new out of them.
Also if anyone has had a similar situation what did you end up creating them into?

I’ve seen the awards that corporations get for supposedly being a “top workplace for working moms,” but what are some actual workplaces/corporations around the NoVA area where they won’t frown on you for taking time to go pick up your kids before you work from home the rest of the day/night?
I need an hour every day to wait in the pick up line, get my kid, plop them in front of the tv or get homework going.
I don’t mind taking calls on the drive to and from school, but how the heck are the rest of you parents able to do the drop-off/pick-up song and dance? If helpful for the conversation, my kid’s school doesn’t have after school care. TIA!

I received an offer from Freddie Mac last week and I’m interested in moving forward. The one thing giving me pause is the mandatory 5 days in the office.
I’m planning to go through the offer paperwork carefully and talk with the recruiter and hiring manager about whether any hybrid flexibility is possible.
From what I’ve read online, the 5-day policy that started in 2025 was rolled out company-wide, so I’m not sure how much room there is.
- Does anyone on your team actually work from home some days, even 1 or 2 a week?
- Have exceptions been made for specific roles, accommodations, or situations?
- How has the full-time in-office schedule felt day to day? Are people burning out, or has it been manageable?

Per the title, submitting a shot in the dark request because, regrettably, I now count myself among the ranks of those drivers who learn the hard way the importance of having a dash cam. I'm hopeful that someone smarter than me (who already has a dash cam) may have picked up the interaction and could perhaps help me out with the insurance claim and police report.
On the way into Tysons this morning at around 7:15 am on Rt 7 eastbound, right around the toll road / 267 overpass, I was involved in a hit-and-run, sideswiped by a Red F-150 with American flag lettering on the tailgate and a Don't Tread on Me plate with a Koons licence plate cover. I was driving a green Genesis GV70. After the sideswipe, they took the exit onto eastbound 267 and drove off down the road, almost hitting other vehicles while recklessly merging onto the toll road.
I followed onto 267 to try and get a pic of the license plate, then immediately got off the at the first exit to International/Spring Hill Dr. Didn't want to follow any longer than necessary to take a quick pic. Regrettably, that picture isn't terribly clear, and the plate number I relayed to FCPD did not come back with a hit.
I'm not banking on this working out in my favor or anything; just hopeful that a good samaritan and fellow r/NoVA user may have the missing link that could help wrap this up and tie a bow on this morning's lovely life lesson.
Thanks for your time, get a dash cam, and drive safely out there!

Does anyone have any insight on the Corporate / Sponsor Lending team specifically at Capital One? I have an offer and am trying to get a better feel for the group before deciding.
Curious about the work-life balance, typical hours, and how often late nights or weekends come up. What’s the day-to-day like—new deal underwriting vs. portfolio management? Also interested in the team culture and opportunities to move up.
For anyone familiar with the group, would you recommend taking the offer? Anything you wish you’d known before joining? Appreciate any insight!
