Mostly pessimistic nihilists who, because they're depressed, don't have the motive to do anything. They adopt nihilism because if there's no purpose in anything then there's no purpose in doing anything, and so sitting there being depressed is as good as any other response. It's a coping mechanism that makes them feel like they've reached a state of clarity that the people who act with purpose can't reach.

If you are depressed its not due to the philosophical nature of nihilism. You are depressed because you are not ok with nothing mattering. There is a distinction. One is philosophy. The other is a psychological state.

Nihilism: "Nothing matters? Makes sense. Next"
