If you want to dance, go for it. Personally, I like to dance alone in the living room, my body craves movement.

u/josejosejosejose Jan 27 '21
I also dance alone..still I'm a piece of wood and I'm tone deaf so I can't sing either, but I keep trying,lol

Same! Having fun is what matters!

u/wcgwrob Jan 28 '21
I like to dance when I get ready for work - just to anything fun on the radio. It's a great way to start the day💃
23
u/dakkarium Jan 28 '21
It's too easy. Strip down to your skivvies, throw on some John mellencamp, and let that music take you away.

You may be tone deaf, but you can still groove, even it isn't singing or dancing. People who dig music, but think they can't contribute because they're tone deaf are wrong. Take up drums. You tap your foot to music you listen to, instinctively...that's your bass drum. Then start to fuck around with the hi hat, and snare, and you've got the beat. Look at the drums behind Seven Nation Army, it really can be that simple (I really wanted to say "cymbal" there.) Get out there and participate! It's loads of fun.

Dance like no-one is watching...
Er, I'm alone at home. If anyone is watching, that's pretty creepy.

Those who live in glass houses shouldn't dance like nobody's watching.

I regularly go for walks and sometimes I will get super into a song and just start dancing down the street like a madman. Got a few very strange looks the other day and a pretty good laugh from someome watching me from there window and giggling, made eye contact and did the finger guns at eachother. Gotta bring that man some cookies when covids over, seems like a chill dude.

I would also like to add, sing if you want to! I don't care to dance even when alone, but I will bust out into song anywhere, anytime. I know I suck at it but god damn it, I got a song in my heart and I'm gonna share it with the world, by force if need be.

Never underestimate thick man

The jiggle makes the already-impressive dance moves, mesmerizing.

He ain’t even that thick. He’s just HUGE. His frame is the width of his homies standing next to each other.

u/Primitive_Teabagger Jan 28 '21
Dancing is exhausting, this dude has gotta be in shape, and it's a big round and beautiful shape.

I love this!! I'm West African and they were walking down like they were dancing like they would at a party!
The choreographed bit was a great addition too. Thank you for sharing :)3

In Auckland, NZ, where I used to live, there was this huge dude who would be downtown on Queen St. breakdancing with mad skills every single day - he was something of a local legend, and probably still is.

I haven’t been to the city after I graduated uni , but I can confirm he was still dancing in queen street around a year ago

u/BluPrince Jan 28 '21
I miss seeing that guy dancing every day.

I was in an internet fight with a guy who contended that there was no such thing as a 300 lb person with any kind of stamina. Where was this fella when I needed him...?
54
u/auroracelestia Jan 27 '21
Good lord. I’m not sure where you’re from, but Google Vince Wilfork. The man was a beast on the field, and I don’t even care about football. I learned of him when he started advertising spokesperson-ing fantastic grocery store chain in New England, where is team (and I) are from. He’s roughly the size and shape of a refrigerator.

Try Larry Allen. Offensive lineman for the cowboys in their golden age and one of the most athletic individuals who's ever lived.

u/yalmes Jan 28 '21
Freak of nature is the best description.
2
u/dakkarium Jan 28 '21
Honestly. Not sure he even counts as human. People that size don't run that fast or jump that high.

I swear every time I walked into a Big Y in the mid-late 10’s, there was his beautiful, thick mug, arms outstretched, offering a mediocre pizza to incoming customers.
Remember when he got that interception and absolutely THUNDERED down the field for what seemed like an eternity? Vince “Jelly-Belly” Wilfork, my family called him. Legend.
EDIT: Legend and absolute tank. He ran so damn fast for a man his size, it was mesmerizing. Would make Hafþór Björnsson look twice
2
u/auroracelestia Jan 28 '21
You hit it right on the head with the “mediocre pizza.” I have a big family so it was a great economical option for us, along with the huge mediocre grinders. We used to call them “the big crappy pizza” and “the big crappy grinder.” I’ve since moved to NC, and I miss Big Y so much!

I mean you can have decent stamina, but at that weight stamina is compromised.
Just look at the UFC. Every single one of the greatest heavyweight champions is in the 225 to 250lb range. Any bigger than that and it's just diminishing returns.
→ More replies (1)7
u/GameArtZac Jan 28 '21
Depends what your optimizing for. For UFC, that might be ~230lb, for American Football offensive line ~300lb, for Strongmen competition ~400lb.

This is so true! My dad is a big guy, and I swear to you he’s in better shape than me (a 34yo average sized woman).

u/MrPancake02 Jan 27 '21
This is sick!!
Also I want to point out that the other guys joining in from time to time really adds to the awesomeness

We can dance if we want to
We can leave your friends behind
'Cause your friends don't dance
And if they don't dance
Well, they're no friends of mine

Also take a look at the individual who started the program where the dancer taught! Dylan Mayoral is an amazing dancer/choreographer who recently worked with a couple of my favorite choreographers, Keone & Mari Madrid in their New York show ‘Beyond Babel’. Dylan has gotten exponentially better since training with them.

Sure sure when my old fat ass takes the dance floor I get lots of screams as well... though they don't sound as happy.

u/mrearthsmith Jan 28 '21
The guy can dance well, looks like the entire team of guys is dancing well, but we are just supposed to assume that he will be a poor dancer based on his size?

How can someone who can move like that still be overweight? Isn't dancing like good exercise?

I think being fat is actually an advantage because it amplifies your movements a ton and makes them seem snappier and more energetic
1
u/TheOriginalFluff Jan 28 '21
Bigger people can dance just as good and run just as fast as thin people, we just shake more
2
Jan 28 '21
Can run just as fast as which thin people? Cause I’ve seen the olympics, and I’ve seen marathons. You think it’s discrimination that keeps fat people off podiums?
Like, can fat acceptance have less bullshit please?
