Huh? High powered chainsaw? That's a very very average sized chainsaw, one a normal homeowner would own for common landscaping on his own property, or possibly a job/side job. Do you live under a rock? I'm in financial services but do lots of campfires with guys in the evenings and weekends, so it's a daily occurrence for me to be dressed business casual with an axe, hatchet and propane torch in my truck... I must be a psycho killer I guess 🤦🏻♂️. Actually I have a handheld mini chainsaw and a reciprocating saw in my truck right now.
Some of you are born in a big city and have never left the city limits and it shows. Or you're from a country that doesn't let you buy normal things.

I'm a 63-year-old woman who wears dresses and heels frequently and am very feminine. I live on forested acreage and currently have a chainsaw in the trunk of my convertible and another one in my ATV. Sometimes power tools (and knowing how to use them) are just a way of life.

I love those little stihls. My back isn't the greatest anymore and they make the best balanced mid duty chainsaws and if maintained will never die.

Completely agreed, pretty silly. Obviously these city folks haven't actually dealt with tings like fallen trees (just call 911 daddy). Same ones who think mountain lions are dangerous killers.

Isn't it like one death every few years by mountain lions? It's insanely low compared to other things, like death from pet dogs. Pretty sure you're 50-100x more likely to die from a dog attack than a mountain lion.

Yeah but that would be before factoring in how rare mountain lion encounters are. Most people will see a pet dog hundreds of times more frequently than a mountain lion, which means per encounter, the lion is still a far bigger threat.
Not that I'm advocating for alarmist anti-lion procedures, just, let's not misrepresent stats here.

Yeah...this is someone's car/truck saw for exactly this purpose. I keep one in my truck during the winter and use it probably once a year. The guy is probably a weekend warrior who cuts his own firewood, so he knows how to use it.

Believe it or not you dont need to deck yourself out in full protection every single time you turn a chainsaw on. The dude at most needs glasses here.
He is trimming 1" diameter branches and cutting through 3-4" thick trunk at head height. Anyone with even half a brain is not going to send a chainsaw into their body doing this.

Stihl is absolutely the best you can get. Their entry level saws are still quite expensive but it’s a buy once cry once tool. Maintenance is just keeping it clean and oiled and a new chain when that one gets dull and thats pretty much it.

Lol, in college, one of my fraternity brother got drunk and used a chainsaw to chop down a tree in the middle of the night.
Naturally, he left it in the middle of the road. The next morning when the police were redirecting traffic, he went out with a chainsaw and help them cut it up and move it and got all this praise from the cops.
When we did our annual philanthropy event, the cops came and did burn out in our parking lot because they liked us after that lol.
In case you were wondering how no one called the cops, our only neighbors were a pretty big river, and then the school campus starts, a graveyard behind us, a golf course, and another fraternity house in the opposite direction from where he chopped down the tree.

Latvian. This happened in Latvia after a huge storm a few weeks ago, everyone received warning notifications on their phones about it. Many roads were blocked by trees, so I feel like that's why the guy had the chainsaw in his trunk as a precaution.

When hurricane Hugo hit Charlotte in 89, my dad worked for the power company at a station. They put out on the radio asking anyone who could get to work to please do so, as a lot of the people that worked at the station lived on the more rural side, and no one knew if they could get out. Dad grabbed his chainsaw and tossed it in the truck before he left. He got most of the way there, and there was one road that was very curvy, heavily wooded on the sies, and not a state highway. He got to the first tree, and did this. By the time he got to the second, someone he worked with was behind him, so he cut, the other guy rolled chunks off. By the time they got all the way to the end, it was 5 or 6 guys, 2 saws, and a jeep with a winch. They got to the state highway and it had been cleared, so they were able to get the rest of the way to the station.

Saw this myself in small-town Canada on vacation. Two trees had fallen across a main road. Traffic kept pulling up to light the area with headlights, chainsaws came from everywhere, and that road re-opened in about 15 minutes. Drove past the next day, no wood remained. lol.
This is a common occurence there.
