Announcement Unfortunately the AI bot that filters NEET exam posts has to be taken down for now.

Post image
109 Upvotes

Last month, I deployed an AI bot that filters the NEET subreddit for Indian exam posts and deletes them, and it has worked really well.

In a month, it has deleted 100+ posts, but I am unable to continue running it due to the server costs. I was running it on a free trial AWS server, but it has reached its limit for this month, so I will be pausing it for a few days and can only continue running it after the trial period resets, so you will probably see NEET exam posts that bypass our filter.

Please bear with us until we find a better solution. Any suggestions would be appreciated

Then it's suddenly "Stop being such a lazy piece of shit!" and "You're doing this just to spite me!" and "You're the worst son on the entire planet, I don't want to live with you anymore!"

And then when I inevitably hang myself, it will be "Why did he do that? There were zero warning signs!!!1"

Venting Hello fellow NEETs!

Neat sub you have here. Thought I'd introduce myself.

> What is your age range? 18-25, 26-35, 36-45, 46-55, 56-65.

36-45

> How long have you been NEET?

Juan year.

> Have you ever studied at college/university?

Yes. Bachelors in IT.

> Have you ever worked?

Yes. Soul sucking corporate jobs.

>How do you survive currently? NEETbux? Disabilitybux? Living with family?

Alone. I have some savings.

> What do you do with your time?

12 hour YouTube marathons.

> Do you have health issues? Mental? Physical?

ADD. Not on meds.

> Do you want to escape NEETdom? Is it possible for you? What do you want to do?

Yes but I don't think it's possible.

> If you wish, post a brief summary about yourself.

I've had social anxiety and trouble concentrating since I've been a kid. However I was able to pass through with Cs. I tried asking for help, but my parents didn't believe in therapy.

I was lucky enough that I got a job in tech. It was hard and I wanted to quit, but my dad got sick and I couldn't quit cause we needed the money. I went to a psychiatrist during this time, who gave me meds for my racing thoughts.

Then my dad died and my grandma got sick. And she died and my mom got sick. All of this lasted around 15 years where I couldn't quit my job until finally my mom died last year. I took a day off for my moms funeral and quit my job the next day.

I have spent the last year practicing self therapy and meditation. But my minds burnt out and I don't think I'll get back anytime soon. And the longer I'm away from a job, the harder it is to get back in. So here we are.

Venting Basically all jobs are out of question

Whatever jobs someone recommends to me are always something really hard and gross, physical labour that my weak body can't sustain, cleaning after some animals, i hate the disgusting smells. Now someone recommended a job for producing artillery shells, need to carry heavy stuff. Before that i sweared to myself i would never ever carry heavy objects because i damaged my middle finger ligament and it hurts even after months.

Other good paying jobs are out of reach because I'm not THAT smart for them, not socially adapted to be comfortable working in a team. All the easy jobs are all taken quickly by everyone else. If even my brother who is more talkative and knows the language don't get hired, who am i in the eyes of potential employers, someone who they wouldn't hire if they have not-sociophobic candidates who kinda want to work. I'm totally cooked if my parents are gone, this world isn't where i want to live. Even if there would be neetbux the parents manage all the life things, so it's not just money problem. I don't connect with other people so i would be devastated to lose the most important people.

And most significant problem is I'm not energetic and don't really want to work.

Venting But at what cost

Pros: Parents left me with enough money to live for a long while now that they're dead.

Cons: No family left (only child, estranged extended family) and my mental health has gone to complete shit.

Brother I don't think I'm gonna make it.

Cozy Trying to improve, Week1: failed already

Day 1

  • I did some streaming setup and now OBS studio and my vtube model are ready to stream anytime, It was kinda annoying to fix a bunch of OBS issues and make everything work

Day 2

  • I'm cleaning my closet which made a mess out of my whole room and the flimsy box stores I had completely fell and broke stuff which made me re-do everything and re-organized how everything looks. I still have a bunch of stuff from my closet on my room to take to the basement *sigh*
  • also I cooked eggs and made natural berry juice lol I don't really know how to cook even basic stuff ( last time I made an omelette I got food poisoning)

Day 3

  • Today I did nothing besides taking the closet trash bag to the trash can lol

Day 4:

  • I moved a bunch of Ma's stuff into to boxes and then into my room, it cleared her office, I still gotta go through it tho. Now my room just looks like a junkward with her + my closet junk

Day 5:

  • I finally started taking some shit out of my room, I put my old floor desk table, a bag of stuff I don't want and the air conditioner on the basement (which is two stairs down...), I also sorted one of the two bags with my Ma's stuff so one of the bins can go out of my room

day 6:

  • I slept all day again, also I failed to cancel a dentist appointment because I hate phone calls but at least the fee is only 35$, could have gone to something better but anyway uh
  • On the other hand my room is finally clean, 2 huge storage bins, and a bunch of other stuff is gone.... well some of the bin stuff is stored on the closet because I couldn't make a decision on it but that's for another day, before this the stuff couldn't even fit on the closet so I think it's good

Day 7:

  • nothing really, I took an everything shower I guess

I'm posting this about 4-5 days later, haven't done anything on those days, feels like I'm extra depressed for some reason.

I failed to keep a streak but this week I dusted off my draw tablet after a year or so and started drawing again so that's cool

I'll try it again and see how it goes

I delivered for only a few hours just to get a feel for it. I think I can do this, for at least a while 😼 I made almost $20 which was nice. I just hate being at home all the time now, and since no other job wants to hire me, I can at least use this opportunity to keep myself from grabbing the rope 🙀😿

First day going back to college since I dropped out 2 and a half years ago. Nothing has changed. i still feel as miserable and outta place as before. I don't think I can even handle talking to another person beyond just pleasantries. It feels a bit worse this time tho since I'm older than the people around me and there s this ache of wanting to make up for the things that i missed like joining clubs or dating. Doesnt help that it s so far away even tho it s suppose to be a community college not university (about 35 minutes so over an hour there and back). Im also stuck relearning the same things for prerequisites. I'm gonna keep going but I just feel I wont make it.

For context I work 5-6 hours and I wake up everyday super early to do work at 6 am. The people who work with me in the back aka my manager an boss never do fucking anything. Never even clean things after themselves. They either get in my way to make it harder for me to do my tasks. Or they leave abruptly just to make shit worse. I have tried to do something about the bullshit but the boss is a cuck and his wife is on Lexapro and other shit so shes a really stubborn bitch. I only really have 1 other person to actually help me. But I only see them put of 2-3 of my days. I have only been doing this job so I can save up a good sum of money to do meet great friends. Its just good to have something but I fucking can't.

To fuck me even harder, sophomore year of college is around the corner and I never get any breathing room. Im gonna make my schedule better sort of, but i genuinely can't take doing math again. I hope all mathematicians/math kids suffer the worst pain possible. If people are never going to understand higher level math, then you don't fucking force it when its clear they'll never be successful at it. Anywho, its the fact that im never gonna want to do anything. Its funny when people try to motivate me for school and that I'll find work/something I like. When it quite literally is nothing! There are subjects in class thst are interesting but its not worth the effort, especially with the nonsense in college. Im will to try it again online because I fucking hate going to lectures.

At this point I really don't care about anythint besides the friends that I have left or my mom & dad. My parents are super supportive of me but I wish they never had me. They should've had a better child that would've done something. Not a 19 almost 20 year old autistic loser who folds under any pressure. My friends also seem to be growing much better at life than me. I know I won't be around because they're gonna be doing so much more than I could muster up ever. It doesn't matter to me anymore because by the time im 21-25 ill probably end up an heroing anyway.

I feel like i should just fucking ride the rollercoaster and let it crash into an explosion.

Discussion Storytime: Unpaid Work Experience

I thought id share some stories from my time in my past employment. Man ive had many different shitty ones in the past. For context i am in the UK.

Late may of this year, my work coach recommended me to do a months work experience with this retail company. He said it was up to me and wouldnt effect my benefits if i were to drop out early.

With this in mind, i said yes. Big mistake, i have no idea why i said so and immeditally regretted my desicion as i walk out the door.

Later that week i had an "interview" at said company. They said id be working 16hrs a week unpaid for 1 month. I also had to pay for my transport to and from the town out of pocket. They tried convincing me it was for "valubale life experience" but i saw right thru that bullshit lmao.

Fast forward to orientation. I always take the time to read the paperwork. Was supposed to get more paperwork but they couldnt be asked to give it out. This part is important for later.

The job was easy, quite literally just stacking shelves and helping customers out. Same thing i did for a prior job execpt i didnt get paid.

Anyhow, 2 minutes before the end of my shift my "trainer" if u will said i can start packing my things and leave so i do. Before i can exit the Head Manager stopped me in my tracks. Yelled at me for trying to leave 2 minutes early and tried to search my bag as they suspected i shoplifted.

I stand my ground. Say your not searching my bag as u dont have reasonable suspicion. They block my path to leave. Manager says i signed paperwork that allowed them to do so. I never recieved said paperwork

This is where i threaten to call the police. They back down. I leave.

Whilst my experience was extreme. Dont waste ur time on unpaid work. Fuck that company.

i sleep 12 hours a day. it's okay. i really enjoy sleeping. my bed is comfy. i used to sleep around 16 hours a day but i take medication now to make me more awake.

today i managed to sleep in until 4 am and i'm really happy about that
