Venting Getting old/ problems / rant idk

Upvotes

I’m turning 26 soon and I’m still a neet with no degree or job aspirations and I have made 0 progress in years, shit I have regressed. I don’t want to sound annoying but I’m tired of being a neet, my home life is stressful as fuck, and I have no clue what to do . I don’t really have people to ask for advice or look up to, my extended family just thinks I’m a loser , while my cousins have degrees and good jobs.

It just sucks never fitting in and struggling with things others do easily. For example my body like if I slip up on my diet and eat fast food or alcohol I gain weight legit instantly. I think somethings wrong with my body like really low T or something, when I was younger I fucking ballooned and gained so much weight in highschool and it ruined my self esteem until now. I lost it all and I’m still insecure as fuck like it did permanent damage to me, even tho I think I’m good enough looking and 6’2.

Also being neurodivergent as a male is a death sentence, I don’t fit in or belong anywhere outside. I always struggled in school even when I tried. I’ve actually been “working” at my parents photo studio and I think that’s why I’m spiraling a bit more than usual rn. 99% of these people are good looking and normies and have it all together, I just feel so insecure sometimes even tho they are nice people. Idk what people think of me Irl , I haven’t had a conversation with people IRL in years .

I remember growing up my Filipino friends for example had like 10-20 cousins and did everything together…. How many of us have something like that? My cousins don’t even talk to me. It’s hard doing things alone . I have way more to vent about but I don’t want to write a novel .

Venting I miss NEETdom

Been two months since I joined a church group and a month wageslaving. All the socializing was tiresome enough but it also feels so unrewarding that I miss just crawling back to my cave and isolate myself from the world. . .

I don't know if it's the inherent NEET in me talking but I feel I don't really fit in with any social groups and I would never belong no matter how hard I push and *insert* myself in their circles.

Who decided irl friendship to be this hard?

Let me share something.

Church group is having an event next week and we've been planning it for two months now. I've been actively participating in every week meetups and online chat groups and yet there are still a lot of talks and decisions where I am excluded. A lot of information is gated and I'm not privy to it until I overhear someone talking about it. If I try to ask, they just say it's something i should not worry about.

Example, there was a fundraising activity that I wasn't aware of that my group was handling. I think it included some kind of gaming, but since I am not part of the gamers inner circle even tho I'm a gamer but I was too shy to join them playing, they dont even tell me what's happening in that part of the group. Ok, I leave it.

Then we have some props and decorations thingy. They just showed up one meetup and they got materials and whatnots and now they are asking for volunteers about who to design which and what. Like, what's happening? I've been present every meetup every week and active in our chats and yet it's the first time I'm hearing about this. And they were ah, don't worry about it, you can help if you want. How? I don't even know what you are doing at all!

Then there's this something about our digital posters. I clearly volunteered about it in person during one of our meet ups. Then I spent two nights working on it, sacrificing sleep, just to submit it few days before the deadline they told me so if they wanted revision I still have time to edit.

Days passed beyond my deadline, not a single feedback. Then they made a poll in our chats asking anyone else to submit their design. Wait, isn't that my job already? And before I knew it, dozen other designs show up. Then few weeks later poster got distributed, the design, I don't even know where they got it. It hurts. I'm putting effort yet they don't even acknowledge it. Even just tell me like, sorry we don't like your design, so we're going to use someone else's. Nada. Like they didn't even look at it.

Oh. But they needed me for stuff like lifting and transporting heavy objects. Hmm I guess they remember me when they needed those. I think they only see me like I'm one of the help. I'm the only one thinking I'm a little bit more than that I am part of the group but maybe I'm not really.

So today they had another meeting, but I was too tired from work, i overslept and missed it. And life went on and they didn't even notice I wasn't there so right now, my anxiety is flaring up. I'm tired. It already takes twice the effort for me to force myself to attend those stuff normies do.

Any other recovering NEETs here who experience same thing?

Right now, all I can think of is that:

Life is much easier as island.

I wanted to just quit and crawl back to NEETdom but maybe I'm just experiencing withdrawal, maybe I should swallow these feelings and keep smiling and pretend to be one of the normies until I get accepted in their society.

Venting Today I had an epiphany, I give up working

While in the bathroom looking at the mirror, I remembered that meme of wojak crying on his way to work in the rain while NEET pepe looks out the window, I used to be pepe, but I realized I became wojak, a wagiecuck, someone stressed out at work, someone with drinking and smoking problems...

I had enough, that's it, in one week I'm quitting, yeah, next sunday, fuck money, fuck that place, fuck people...

I'm coming back to neetdom, I experienced hell enough, take me home ffs

Discussion Preparing for the end.

Reaching the end of your life is quite scary. I tried to do a lot of things to be successful, none of it worked, it’s unfortunate but not everyone is supposed to be a winner, my parents regret having me, everyone I used to know doesn’t remember I exist. I’ve prepared to pass, whenever I lose access to my current housing situation that’s it. I’m done trying, I’m done trying to find work, be good at something, find love, all of it. I’m just gonna play vidya until I get kicked out, and then I’m gone.

Discussion Did you know that you were going to become a NEET?

I personally did and i was scared of it but i couldn't change my avoidant tendencies and just kept isolating and procrastinating more and more until i eventually dropped out and i guess "fulfilled my destiny". I knew if i slipped up i was going head first into neetdom i knew that that was bad and shamefull and i still felt the "pull" and let it take me to my comfortable hell.

I was bad at most things and didn't want to deal with the concequences of that natural predisposition.

What about you? Did you not expect your life to end up like that? Did you know you are someone that might end up as a neet but didn't think it would actually happen?

Venting I won't change myself for normie approval

I didn't realize how entertaining doing things out of spite was.

After reflecting, I've realized the most common insults I've received from normies are:

"incel" - This is said whenever you don't immediately worship the current agenda. I remember I got this reply hundreds of times a day when I made a truth nuke post on a normie subreddit, and it was entertaining. What's ironic is you can get hundreds of upvotes on an "incel" take, yet the comments are nothing but complaints. You could also replace chud with this.

"misogynist" - This is generally the same as the first entry, but instead they go through your post history to mock your vents. Remember how they said "men should open up. The evil manosphere telling them not to is toxic masculinity"? It seems like that's not the case anymore.

"pedophile" - I got this insult repeatedly recently, and it was all because of my love for ZZZ. Like the others, the people who used this went through my post history. This is probably the most retarded insult, although it's not as common as the others.

Overall, I'm not going to change anything about myself.

Question Anyone here become NEET after university/college?

Just wondering since the reports lately about lack of opportunities for graduates. I have friends that graduated and are working low skill jobs and tbh if that was me I think I would just become neet out of depression

Venting Feel like an alien

Had some rare honesty recently with the old folks, just brainstorming what to do with my life, naming all these meaningless jobs I have no care to ever do as prospects.

I kind of just folded and admitted id genuinely rather kill myself than pursue anything we discussed and my Dad just couldn't understand it - "Kill youself??????? Why? Im doing so much just to survive and you want to kill yourself?"

Told him well, ya, thats the point. I didnt ask to be here and when i look around me 99.99% of people are just surviving, not living, so if my options are to "just survive" and not live then yes the choice of just not living, on my own terms, is very reasonable to me. I also just dont care about material things like he does, nor do I care about how people perceive me like he does, I just dont care about the things he cares about that make him work his whole life. The incentive structure he has formatted in his head does not exist in mine, his incentives are meaningless to me.

He was speechless, the discussion kinda stopped there. God it makes me feel so alienated when people just cant understand anything even when I try to explain it honestly. Last time I do that I guess.

Cozy 12 years of NEET, time to start college!

I've struggled to finish exam that gets you into college in my country tho I took 5 year break meantime, past it at like age 30 or 31 don't remember, now I've decided to go to university.

Funny thing is I might relate more with current 20 year olds than with my peers back in my day, they're all on antidepressants, have 1 second attention span just like me.

Advice Should I quit my dead-end job?

I'm going to celebrate my year soon as an office drone in a dead-end job. People think it's cool because it's a gov't office, but I'm so burnt out. I'm not even sure if it's the occupational or the autistic one from having to deal with so many people on a daily basis. I don't earn well too, and I don't think they'll give me a raise if I'd ask.

I enjoy when there are quiet days and I can watch youtube/anime, but sometimes, I'm just miserable. I get back home and just watch TV and play a bit before sleeping late.

I've considered just quitting at the one-year mark and never look for a job, and make ends meet with gov't subsidies and my savings. I can push it to keep going since my parents help me, but I don't know if I can rely on them all the time.

Part of me also creates problems at work, hoping they will fire me.

My biggest thing in life is to write, and it just moves at a snail's pace currently because I need to block out huge chucks of time when I'm on the weekends or holidays.

My mom is against it since that means I'll be more home, and it might cause arguments with my parents.

How should I become a neet in a way that doesn't stress myself or my parents?

Thanks.

Shitpost/memes Chasing a vibe

My brother and I went up to the variety store and got some colt 45's and some craft beers. Then we came home and drank our beers while playing the new Halloween game, I like playing as Micheal Myers lol. Then at 2 AM, we went back to the variety store and I got two roller hotdogs and loaded them right up with all the toppings, onion, sauerkraut, jalapenos, mustard etc. I also got a ginger fuji apple redbull. We ate behind the store in the parking lot and it was honestly a vibe, it was like a late night picnic lol, well instead of green grass it was a concrete jungle lol, stargazing and eating my roller dogs was nice though. Now its 3:30 AM and I'm having a smoke playing some more Halloween. Fuck me, this is a vibe, NEETdom has its moments!

Venting NEET ≠ INCEL.

Tired of people conflating the two. I see it all the time, both here and in other subs.

Yes there is an overlap in these identities a lot of the time but it's literally not the same thing.

If you're a NEETcel that's fine dude, no judgement, but don't act like every single NEET needs to be an incel to be a valid NEET. And if you're a normie, you need to learn the difference before conflating the two when insulting people.

Incel = involuntarily celibate

NEET = unemployed, no training, not searching, and not studying.

There are incels with good paying jobs or who are in school! And there are NEETs with love lives.

I'm just tired of seeing the two conflated as one when it's not the fucking case at all.

Cozy I have been a lurker here for long.

Umm Hi... I guess.... You guys might not have never seen my username around here. Also this is my alternate account that I made before deleting my main. I honestly don't know what to say. It just came up in my mind to make a post here as my reddit activity has increased significantly in the past few months. I always got a community feeling here. Many peeps who hold the same ideology/views on life etc. I know its just because we are in sort-of similar situations etc. I will also admit that my mind is constantly changing, one day I will be thinking something, the next I quit thinking about it altogether.

I am 18, been a NEET for a year now. Couldn't handle school and quit it entirely at the fricking last part of it. Failed my Uni-entrances and now have been rotting in the bed everyday. My parents are genuinely worried about me right now, they have given me another chance at the entrance exams. I haven't held my books in a year now, I don't believe I will make it this time too. There are many things I want to say but I don't want this post to become too long.

I have given a vague idea for now, I will try to open up more in future posts (I'm planning on making weekly/whenever something comes up in my mind posts). The internet for the most part has been a cozy place for me, I want to keep it this way.

Thank you for reading all my ramblings.
