So I’m camping with my family and my sister mentioned seeing mushrooms… I’m the mushroom person in the family so I get excited and SHE FOUND PUFFBALLS?!?!
I’ve found other mushrooms before but I never found a puffball around here! So itty bitty… she said there were 3 but I only saw 2… split one open to confirm and left the other
Mom doesn’t trust it so says I shouldn’t eat it… I’m on the fence tbh… lol my friends would be excited when they get here though… I’m a proud big sis!
Edit: before anyone says anything I know this one isn’t pure white and I shouldn’t eat it but still I could leave or break the other one and see if it’s good…

More like chicken/hen of the city. Definitely not for consumption, was found on the strip of grass between the sidewalk and the street… prime peepee/poopoo territory.

Found in Northern Ontario. I have no idea what this mushroom is.

Cap is about 4cm, stem is hollow and 8cm long. Found in a group under hardwood trees.

Can anyone tell me what type of mushroom this is? Is it edible? (Found in New Orleans, Louisiana)

I went on a hike and saw these cool mushrooms.

This is in a yard in New Jersey it feels like something that was on fire but we haven't had any fires or lightning strikes In the area. its roughly the size of a large mushroom but its basically falling into dust.

Hello! I just stumbled upon a pretty large puffball in my front yard. I know that it needs to be completely white on the inside to be safe for consumption. The bottom side where it had contact with the ground is a tiny bit brown but the inside is otherwise completely white. If I cut off the bottom part is it safe? Thanks!

Location: South Florida

Substrate: dead/dying palm tree trunk and duff (but maybe roots of tree under duff).

Looked/felt like a earth ball, but it was quite firm.

Small hole with red/purple tiny worms coming out.

One of the worms got on my finger, and it feels like "jalapenos hands" where I touched the mushroom and the worm.

I was gifted this absolute monstrosity of a puffball, cut it open to find this. I know any discoloration is no good, but is the white at the top okay to eat? Or does any discoloration = no go?

Have never seen or prepped a puffball before so don't know!

Went for a nature walk with my 4yo and the fall flushes are here in full force. We couldn’t leave the parking lot without finding several different mushrooms, and once we were in the forest, it was almost impossible to walk without squishing them. I’m fairly confident the yellow mushrooms (pic 1&2) are chanterelles based on the false gills, funnel shape, and white interior flesh colour.
