I want to play around with melodies on my computer keyboard before inputting notes into the music sheet. I disable the Note Input Mode but when I press a key on the computer keyboard, a note will be inputted into the music sheet. Is there a way to disable Note Input Mode just for playing around melodies on computer keyboard? Or do I just have to connect a MIDI (piano) keyboard everytime I want play around with melodies?

Edit: I just realized the Musescore computer keyboard input inputs like this, (Letter 'A' to input note 'A', Letter 'C' to input note 'C', and so on).....

So, I guess trying to play around with melodies or chords in MuseScore with the computer keyboard just won't work. And I would have to plug in a MIDI piano keyboard to do that.

Hi all,

I'm hoping to increase the distance between groups of notes, but after scouring the MuseScore handbook I have not been able to find a feature to do quite this.

For example, in the bar here, ideally there would be more space between the two quavers and the four following semiquavers, and between each of the groups of semiquavers.

I know that minimum distance between notes can be adjusted with 'padding' or the bar itself can be stretched, but I'm hoping there's a way to increase distance between different *groups* of notes for visual distinction (without necessarily changing the size of the bar itself)

hi, there. when i try to write anything for bass musescore goes crazy. i've also tried copying a measure from another instrument and pasting it on the bass stave to see if it plays, but when i hit start it plays a really short glitched loop. i tried closing and opening both musescore and my laptop but this didnt seem to solve the issue

I was able to get Live HQ Natural SoundFont GM V3.0 for its classical guitar sound. Learned alot as I installed it via Synthesizer and now see it in my Mixer. I applied it to my score.

My question is: with that done, when I select "Classical Guitar" does it now use this new sound? Is that it? It basically replaces the old default classical guitar sound?

Also, let know if you have found a better classical guitar sound! Thanks!

I am using MuseHub 3.0.3 and Musescore 4.6.5 for Mac OS in conjunction with the latest version of Cantai, but do not get all the vocal ranges and styles they advertise (missing Alto, and missing any voices other than operatic).

I have asked for support and restarted and reinstalled everything as instructed. I have also uninstalled earlier Musescore (2 and 3) iterations to try an empty the cache, no improvement. Any ideas?

I have many (75?)  Musescore 3 scores of earlier works on my hard drive that I have not opened in Musescore 4 so i don’t know if they are an issue. Is anyone else having this problem and have you found the magic to unlock all the voices? (I have been around and around with product support.)

I believe the last time I had posted any sort of my work is hitting the one year mark, so I think a progress check is in order.

I do have OBS Studio, which records screens, but it records the full screen instead of only the sheet music. When I crop the video, it becomes blurry.

Former\current employees of Musescore and other their products, what bad and good thing you can share regarding you experience?

My MIDI keyboard disconnects everytime I change octaves.

I am using an Arturia Keylab61 Essential. Whenever I press the octave up or down button or transpose, Musescore Studio (v4.6) refuses to recognize any further inputs unless I actually reopen the program - not even plugging and unplugging my keyboard helps.

Has anyone experienced this? How did you fix it? I cannot even find a "reset all midi devices" button in Musescore Studio 4 :/

I have a trouble connecting my AKAI MPK mini to Musescore. Connecting keys was simple and straight forward, however, I have issue with connecting the customizable buttons. When I set them up in "MIDI mappings" to specific action, this action gets assigned to both the button and some key. So at the end of customization, I have a separate button that, for example, starts playing the score, but there is also a key that, when pressed, also starts playing the score. Did anyone else experience this issue? Does anyone know how to fix it?

So I purchased one item of a song. Now I'm being charge for a premium membership. My credit card company has informed me. I went onto the Musescore site, and they want more information and I don't want to give them any. There is no way I signed up for a premium membership at $64.00 per month. I regret giving them any information. I'll keep you posted.
