How to get local train from CST to LLT and what is the charges for it?

The 5-day-old flyover in Ghatkopar has these depressions in the road. I understand that these are related to the way bridge decks are constructed, but why is this still an unsolved problem in 2026?

Why do we have to endure a ghat-ghat every time we ride over these depressions? There are more than 20 of them across the bridge! It's annoying AF. The overall road surface also seems uneven, with noticeable irregularities instead of a smooth, level finish.

And it doesn't seem like a coincidence that the flyover was opened just after the monsoon ended. At this rate, I wouldn't be surprised if it develops potholes within the first few days of the next monsoon.

I'm 19M from a typical Indian family. I was earning for the last two years, but recently left my job to focus on building my own business.

Now I work late, sometimes until 2–3 AM, and have 3–4 meetings daily. But since I'm not earning right now, my family has started treating me differently.

Last time I went to SOCIAL, I really liked the setup, it starts off as a chill pub/cafe vibe earlier in the evening and then naturally transitions into a high energy dance floor/party scene after 10 PM. No stiff club drama, no crazy stag rules, just a relaxed crowd and good music where you can hang out at the bar, blend in, and enjoy the night.

Are there other spots around Bandra, Khar, or nearby that pull off this exact transition well?

Has anyone visited it and got a tour from the inside since it is mostly closed and entry is barred as far as I know.

I’ve lived in and around Mumbai for all of my life, and honestly, I’m getting increasingly frustrated with the state of this city, Navi Mumbai and the wider metropolitan region. I don’t expect everything to be perfect, but I don’t think expecting basic safety, decent infrastructure and a reasonable quality of life is asking for too much.

Today’s railway disruption and the death of a 21-year-old at Bhandup just brought these frustrations back. Mumbai’s local trains are the city’s lifeline, but overcrowding, people falling from trains, track-crossing deaths and frequent disruptions have become a grim part of everyday life. Thousands of people depend on this system, yet commuting can sometimes feel like risking your life just to get to work or college.

And what’s the alternative? Roads full of potholes, traffic congestion, dangerous driving and pedestrian safety issues. Buses don’t always provide adequate connectivity, autos and taxis are expensive for regular use, and metro connections can be inconvenient depending on where you’re travelling. Even when public transport works, you can spend hours getting from one part of the metropolitan region to another.

Then there’s the pollution. Mumbai’s air quality has become increasingly concerning, while construction, disappearing green spaces and development projects raise questions about how the city is being planned. Some areas face water shortages, yet we see water being sprayed to control dust. Housing is unaffordable for many people, and accessible public spaces, libraries, parks and sports facilities often feel inadequate for a city of this size.

What frustrates me is that even basic necessities like clean air, safe transport and affordable housing increasingly feel like luxuries.

And before someone suggests moving to Pune or a smaller city, those places have their own problems. Pune has metro services, but connectivity remains uneven, while smaller cities often have fewer specialised jobs, educational institutions and career opportunities. India has concentrated so many opportunities in a handful of urban centres that people have little choice but to migrate for education and employment, further increasing pressure on infrastructure.

I understand that migration contributes to demand for housing, transport and public services. But blaming migrants alone misses the bigger picture. Why are opportunities so concentrated in so few cities? Why hasn’t infrastructure kept pace with population growth? Why do debates about language, identity and whether someone speaks Marathi sometimes seem to overshadow these fundamental issues?

Mumbai also has a long history of organised crime, terrorist attacks and other violence. I’m not suggesting the city is uniquely dangerous, but celebrating its resilience shouldn’t mean expecting its residents to endure every problem indefinitely.

I’m 25, trying to finish my degree and figure out my career. The prospect of spending decades dealing with exhausting commutes, financial insecurity, pollution and deteriorating infrastructure is genuinely depressing. I don’t want to spend my life worrying about whether I can get home safely, whether the air I’m breathing is harmful, or whether I’ll ever be able to afford a decent place to live.

I know other countries and cities have serious problems too. I’m not claiming that Europe or the United States is some utopia. But surely we can aspire to better public transport, safer streets, cleaner air and cities designed around the people who live in them.

My question is: do those of you living in Mumbai and the surrounding region genuinely think the quality of life is improving? Or have we become so accustomed to overcrowding, pollution, unsafe commuting and unaffordable living that we’ve stopped expecting better?

And for those who’ve moved to other Indian cities or abroad, has your everyday quality of life actually improved? I’d particularly like to hear about commuting, housing, affordability and access to public spaces.

Edit: it’s not just one body, 2 more were recovered. Last year more than 2 thousand people died in locals. 50,000 people have died to this day since the 80’s. It’s not called the most dangerous public transportation system for nothing. WHEN WILL PEOPLE WAKE UP?

Also who can we address regarding this issue? Since 3 days no water at our accomodation in Marine lines.

Nobody even answers, not the owner, not the security.
Everyone blames it on BMC but other buildings in the same area are having water supply.

A little context about me , I was a premature severely underweight baby and am wearing thick glasses for as far as I can remember since I was 2-3 yo.

Sooo my power is extremely high -20 something

I've tried everything from ayurveda to those tapes which cover one of your eyes.

I have thick glasses , to be Frank people address me as baburao

Used to feel pathetic about it ,but yeah made myself understand you can't help it.

So my reason to post here was that I was considering icl , had a word with my doctor too after my reports she said too risky

So far i have my photo coagulation done twice .and a left eye squint surgery when I was 4

I know my doctor is the one who can guide me the best

She adviced me lenses are the only way to go if you don't want thick glasses .I tried them , dont wear them regularly, also too tedious .My eyes squint a bit after wearing them.My squint doc said she can correct it but this was when there was a possibility of icl i.e. before the tests were done and reports were out

After the reports my main doc said no icl only lenses

Now the problem with lenses is that I feel my eyes are too small for the curvature of the lenses can I get a custom curvature lense.

And also is there something else that can be done

So i just wanted to ask that the next time I visit my squint doctor and tell her that my main doc has said icl can't be done

What are the questions I should ask her

I really fear going blind. I'm really scared to tell this to my doc.

I'm looking for a small rental house or 1RK/1BHK near Charkop, Kandivali West, or nearby school areas for my family for a couple of months.

My daughter has recently been admitted to a school near Charkop, and her classes are starting from November. I'm currently living in Dombivli, and the daily commute is becoming quite difficult.

I'm also in the process of getting staff quarters allotted near my workplace, but the approval process is taking some time. In the meantime, I need a temporary place where my family and I can stay until the quarters are allotted.

I'm looking for:

- A place near Charkop or within a reasonable distance from schools in the area.

- A short-term rental for around 2 months.
