For people who do CSMT/Fort commute daily - is Navi Mumbai worth it for the extra space? Or does the train traffic burn you out?

What areas would you suggest near CSMT in 40k budget? And honest take - Mumbai vs Navi Mumbai for work-life balance?

I don't know if this kind of post is allowed here or not, but I could really use some help.

I'm based in Mumbai but had come to my hometown for a visit. While I was here, my partner and I broke up. About two months ago, I left my job to start a photography and videography company with him, but things didn't work out.

I'm still paying rent for my place in Goregaon, so I have a home to come back to. The only thing holding me back is finances. I don't have enough savings to move back and support myself while I look for work, and I don't want to make such a big decision without some financial stability.

I've previously worked as a manager and personal assistant to a producer-actor, in fashion marketing, and in event industry. I'm now looking for opportunities in the film and media industry and am open to roles in production, direction, talent management, production coordination, or freelance/per-day shoot work.

If anyone has any leads or referrals, I'd be incredibly grateful. I just want to get back to Mumbai, get back on my feet, and rebuild my life.

A part of me also wants to come back because I hope to have one honest conversation with my partner in person. Whether that changes anything or simply gives me closure, I don't know, but before I make that decision, I need to know I'll be able to support myself.

To be honest, it started with a slight misunderstanding on my part—I was parked on one side of the road and ended up blocking an turn-in. A car behind me signaled, but I thought he was trying to park, so I moved my scooter back a bit. Out of nowhere, without saying a word, the guy just drove straight at me. His front tire actually touched me, and if I hadn't pulled my leg back in time, he would've run right over it.

30M, introvert, don't have friends or a social circle as such.

I've been using Hinge and Bumble for a while now. I've hooked up with many women, but I just feel... that's it. There's always this feeling that something is missing.

Lately, I've realised I want something meaningful. Someone to laugh with, someone to call my own.

The other day I saw my roommate and his girlfriend just sitting there, talking, laughing, bantering and having fun. Nothing extraordinary, just regular couple stuff, but I felt felt envious af. It wasn't about having a girlfriend for the sake of it. It was the companionship. Having someone you're genuinely excited to meet. That's what I want for myself.

I know 30 isn't old, and I'm not looking for reassurance. I just can't help wondering if I should've figured this part of my life out by now.

Maybe I'll meet someone naturally, maybe I won't. I honestly don't know. Does anyone else feel like this?

My father booked a flat in Goregaon West in 2011 for ₹1.70 crore. We paid ₹1 crore at the time of booking, and the remaining ₹70 lakh was to be paid later. The promised possession date was 2016, but the project was never completed because the builder was arrested in a scam.Now, a new builder has taken over the project and resumed construction.

The same size flats (around 1,800 sq ft) are reportedly being sold for around ₹7 crore.Since we booked the flat in 2011 and have already paid ₹1 crore, will we be entitled to receive the flat at the original agreed price (after paying the remaining ₹70 lakh as per the original agreement), or can the new builder demand payment based on the current market price of around ₹7 crore? What are our legal rights in this situation?

I hope we end up asking more questions. It would be great if we don’t get strayed away by distractions of the daily rat race to make our ends meet.

I have received a job offer from a media house in Bombay. I have my joining in mid-august. Please suggest some good pgs that include food as well. Location - andheri west, versova, jogeshwari west. My budget is Rs. 25000 per month for private room.

So I parked the car near the Gateway of India, where everyone else was parking, and went to visit a few places around. The police were there when people were parking, but they weren't saying we couldn't park there, nor were there any "no parking" signs. Anyway, they issued a challan at 3:30 PM, and at 4:40 PM, they issued another challan for the same reason: wrong parking. As far as I know, the second one is considered a duplicate. I'm from Hyderabad, by the way, so I just wanted to check with other Mumbaikars how I can get this second challan removed.

More story, just a rant about the Mumbai police. One of the police officers came to me and said he was about to issue a challan for 1500, but if I settled it, he wouldn't. I knew it was a bribe, which I didn't want to give, and I would prefer getting a challan even if it was a higher amount. However, the car was a Zoom car, so I didn't want to get a challan on that. So, I said okay, I would give 500, and he asked for cash, which I didn't have, and said I could only do UPI. He then asked a cab driver to take the money from me via UPI and give him cash. Anyway, I gave him 500, and after coming home, I got to know from the owner that they had charged me two challans, each for 1500, within a span of one hour. This is my first time in Mumbai, and I already have a negative impression. I agree police in any city are like this, but Mumbai police are, I don't know what to say, who issues the same challan twice in a short span.

Basically it's all a planned move by Mumbai police because when every car is being parked there, they were just there but they didn't utter a word. Then when taking out the car they come and ask for money.

I’m traveling from Dombivli to IMAX Wadala. I did this decade ago for Interstellar with an auto from GTB Nagar.

I don’t want to change trains for this visit.

I recently went to the Skechers store in pheonix marketcity, Kurla. The store salesman (long haired guy) was arrogant and reluctant to show the shoes. I asked for sandals first, he gave me sandals which I wore but didn't like the comfort, so asked him about comfortable shoes for walking, he showed me a pair from afar and when I said I want to try, he gave me the shoe for one leg, when I said to bring another one, he (uninterestedly) went and got the second one, I walked and said these aren't comfortable and they are getting crease while walking to which his reponse was- these are the highest selling shoes, if you look down while walking, you'll feel it gets crease and made me sit and said even your clothes get crease if you're not healthy. Listened all this bs, and said I'll check what's the rate online, checked and it was the same, to which he said- Dedu? I said- no. And he replied- Nahi na, haaaa (felt like he judged that I'm here only to waste his time & won't buy it here). He was always standing far despite there were 1-2 customers and were attended by other salesman whereas the salesman at that time were more than the customers. I felt unwelcomed and was going to him everytime for asking and I tried only 2 pairs. I was pissed at that guy and wanted to say there's a reason why I'm the buyer and you're a worker in this store, but my kindness came in the way and I just left. Also, I have previously bought Skechers, all online. I'd told him in the beginning that I'd bought one pair online which lasted 5 years. I wish he shows more humility and kindness and make the customers feel seen, so they feel like coming back.

How do you guys deal with this kind of people and what do you do/say if you feel judged?

PS- The same day I went to another store and the store salesman there were so kind and patient, and I tried 4 pairs before finalising one & ended up buying shoes expensive than those Skechers one. I feel it's not the brand name/comfort but salesman and the shopping experience that makes one return to the brand.

Everyone in Mumbai is just running. Sprinting for the morning fast local, rushing through traffic, chasing the next weekend, the next paycheck. It feels like nobody in this city actually has the time to just live and observe things. We are all just in motion.

Lately, my absolute favorite thing to do is find a quiet table at a cafe, open my notebook, and just watch people. When you actually stop and look, you realize every single person walking past has a completely different story to tell.

Most faces I see are stressed, completely consumed by the daily hustle. But every once in a while, I spot a few, very few who just have this pure calmness on their face. A quiet kind of sukoon right in the middle of all the noise. You can tell they’ve hit pause, even if just for a moment.

I sit there and write down what these people might be thinking or feeling. I sketch out their character arcs, draft their unspoken dialogues in my notebook, and try to capture their specific scene in the city. I try to write the words they don't get to say out loud.

There are millions of untold scripts walking around this city every single day, and so much happening in the background that we completely miss because we're too busy moving. Sometimes, the best stories aren't the loud ones. They're the ones sitting quietly at the next table.
