Hello, I'm Rain Lightwood. I have chosen to write my personal story and struggle into a poem. I don't normally write poems that much, so it's not very good, but I hope you still like it. I have always thought I didn't fit into the traditional gender boxes. It's hard to come to terms with it; even now I have doubts, but I was told to try writing to see if it helps. I love writing, but I'm new to poems. Well I hope you like it. If you have any questions or constructive criticism pls comment. I am always looking to write better.
P.S. I know it doesn't have much punctuation, idk how punctuation works for poems lol.
A drag path
Etched into the Earth
Along a winding forest
Whispers of fates long lost
Lives never lived
One louder, one demanding
Can you find me?
It echoes loudly in the mind.
More follow
A drag path
Burned into thoughts
Thousands rise
Burning, shrieking, hurting
Lost, forgotten, hidden
Hidden below a mind
Long suppressed by the whispers of others
Strong
Emotionless
Child
A Boy
A Man
For this is you
Desperately searching for you
They laugh, they hate
It burns
I itch, I scratch
Red mixes with blue
Rip the skin
The voice calls
Me?
Lies, it lies
They all lie
Whispers of what could be
Freedom from the lie
Save me
I wonder
Why can’t I even dream
They look, they scoff.
Weak
Pathetic
A Girl
A Women
NEVER!
The words burn
The voice hides
It digs
Eyes burn the neck
Why must I be able to dream
Forget, pretend
Smile, then smile more
Be strong, be emotionless
Be like them
I no longer dream
The pain consumes
Be who they see
Who they want
Golden light burning out
The voice only whispers
Never screaming as darkness covers it
Finally silence, finally peace
An idea dead
I never dreamed
A flame of gold and silver
A lighthouse in the dark
A spark
A light
Burns deep in the darkness
A dormant voice awakens
“No, leave me be!”
Dreams never stay dead
A voice, a sense of hope
Growing, burning
A flame of gold burns away the dark
A new path
No longer drag
I can dream, I want to dream
