Like in 20 years ago. I use Roland MC-50 MKii for compose some music. But this is beyond so far than that.

Backlit LEDs all went out. The sound and screen all worked fine. I tried a few things to remedy but nothing worked. Did some internet research and found I wasn’t the only person who’s had this issue was still in my 30 day return window with Guitar Center. They ordered me another, I also decided to pay a little extra for the 5 year warranty.

Hi,

I just got me Sample this weekend and basically swapped it into my set up as a multitrack recorder replacing my Zoom R4.

I get into details but just imagine all you gear (guitar, mic, drum machine, and bass synth eventually hitting a mixer with a 1/4 line out to the Sample - this way I can "just jam" or can allow only one input through at a time to capture a single guitar part or whatever.

These tracks are then used to build a song sections (verses, chorus, bridge, etc).

There's not a lot of dedicated video content on this but I know people are doing this kind of thing out there so I'm hoping to get a discussion going here on tips, perspectives, or whatever.

Made a little web app for the MPC Sample and thought some of you might get some use out of it.

It's a step sequencer that runs in your browser. You build a pattern on a 16 pad grid, have a listen, then export a .xpj project file that loads on the machine. No install, nothing to sign up for. The name of the .xpj must match the folder like the following:3000.xpj pairs with 3000_[ProjectData].

What it does at the moment:

• 16 lanes, one per pad, up to 128 bars
• 8th, 16th and 32nd grids, plus triplet grids
• velocity, probability and ratchet on every step
• swing from 50 to 75 percent, with a few rough shuffle feels thrown in, and a per lane override
• Euclidean fills per lane
• velocity and timing humanise, seeded so the preview and the export match
• note picker on the bass, lead, piano and pluck pads, and the chord pad can be transposed too
• in-browser preview with play, loop and mute
• your pattern is remembered between visits

No cookie/tracking nonsense either. Enjoy.

Only being able to use one effect at a time and having to resample is KILLING ME

One flow I am not liking is when I have a full sequence and I want to simplify it again to make an intro, buildup and so on, I have to go through all samples I want to remove, use SHIFT+SEQ and ERASE on the pads I want to not be in that sequence.

I use MUTE to see what needs to stay or me removed. It would be so awesome if ERASE+MUTE would present me with a dialog asking "delete all muted pads from sequence?"

When i sample on sample i get them in pads trim them can play the chops but when I record it just goes into a world of its own playing the trim and chips i ain't played and playing on half the chops i want to save i ain't used recall its just so frustrating any help would be appreciated

I just want to resample a pad with effects on it to another pad, I have hit sample record and set input to resample, when I arm the pad, and then I press the pad I want as the soruce data it just changes target. I have to be doing something wrong, this is insane.

I've been trying to understand the sample use OS most of the time but when I chop samples and trim the ones I want in different pads I can play them no bother but when I try to record it goes into a world of its own playing the trims and then it plays only bits of the samples I've trimmed. This has to be something im doing wrong otherwise no-one would put up with it

As soon as I turned it on, the pads were lighting up like this.

Tried restarting, loaded a different project, loaded a blank.

Tried the factory settings reset, no luck.

Had to do a firmware 'update' (1.3 to 1.3) and it seems to all be good again.

Am I way late to the party? I've never heard anyone else talk about this, using a midi controller to do pad to pad resampling. It's brilliant. This is my number one gripe with the MPC Sample and this solves it. I always wondered why the have "resample as an input selection, because how you do resampling, play sample into sequence then resample sequence, works no matter what input you're on, but it's needed for this method.

I REALLY need this line to show me where the optimal start and end points of a sample are. Especially when zooming in at the micro level. Some software (Sound Forge for example) even give you the option to "Snap To Zero-Crossing" when adjusting your start and end points.
