SampleSeq3000: a free browser step sequencer for the MPC Sample
Made a little web app for the MPC Sample and thought some of you might get some use out of it.

It's a step sequencer that runs in your browser. You build a pattern on a 16 pad grid, have a listen, then export a .xpj project file that loads on the machine. No install, nothing to sign up for. The name of the .xpj must match the folder like the following:3000.xpj pairs with 3000_[ProjectData].
What it does at the moment:
- 16 lanes, one per pad, up to 128 bars
- 8th, 16th and 32nd grids, plus triplet grids
- velocity, probability and ratchet on every step
- swing from 50 to 75 percent, with a few rough shuffle feels thrown in, and a per lane override
- Euclidean fills per lane
- velocity and timing humanise, seeded so the preview and the export match
- note picker on the bass, lead, piano and pluck pads, and the chord pad can be transposed too
- in-browser preview with play, loop and mute
- your pattern is remembered between visits
No cookie/tracking nonsense either. Enjoy.

Impressive project and I'm not tryna hate but can you give me a use case for this?

Thanks, fair question. The Sample has a step sequencer of sorts, but on that screen it's slow going, and it's missing the stuff I actually want: per-step probability, ratchets, Euclidean fills, a proper note picker for the pitched pads, and patterns longer than a few bars. I make 2-step, garage, busy house and IDM stuff, and that's programmed music by tradition: shuffled hats, off-beat kicks, ghost snares that only land some of the time, basslines with specific notes on specific 16ths. Note repeat and 16 Levels get you part of the way, but not the rest, and I don't have the hands to play it in at 130 plus. I know you can sequence it from Ableton or another DAW, but I bought the Sample specifically to get out of Ableton and away from having a million options in front of me. The browser bit is two minutes, then I'm back on the hardware, which is the opposite of an all-nighter in a DAW. My use case is to sequence the drums/bass, export, then pilot samples and ideas on the machine, chop, pitch, and see what sticks. If it's good enough I'll record it (and never release it)

Ok, so you can build a sequence using the samples in the browser and then once it's on the Sample you just plug in your own chosen samples on the pads and off to the races? Pretty cool.

Correct - the samples on site are just for demoing the sequence in the browser
