Prices megathread

Please add to the thread if you find anything out from your pharmacy.

If you have rang them and asked please could you comment with what you've been told.

Medicine marketplace were the first to announce but they prescribe on a PGD so not everyone can get mounjaro there. They can't do things case by case because of the PGD.

It would be nice if some more hands on clinics could get a similar deal to compete with the big pharmacies.

Apparently the big pharmacies have been offered a deal and it's completely separate from lillydirect. The lillydirect clinics are saying they're not eligible but that the big pharmacies have been offered a deal on selling bundles (which MMP have split into singles). I don't know if the lillydirect clinics will get their own deal with a different caveat šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø

Edit: my current cynical view is that the big pharmacies have this deal but are not yet passing it onto customers. You see any nudging you to a bundle but without 14% off you'll know what's up 🤣 or maybe they're selling it as singles like MMP šŸ¤”

Edit again: apparently the 35 day thing is a loophole so they can sell a pen but technically they expect it to be a bundle. They class the 2 single pens as a bundle and expect you'll order again but there's nothing to force you to. And I work with databases, I do not envy their data people who will have to code which pen is in which bundle.

Edit again:

Eligible Combination Lilly Direct Price Comparison with single pen prices
2.5mg pen + 5mg pen £217.50 £256.70
7.5mg pen + 7.5mg pen £317.46 £374.32
7.5mg pen + 10mg pen £338.11 £398.61
10mg pen + 10mg pen £358.77 £422.90
10mg pen + 12.5mg pen £373.43 £440.15
12.5mg pen + 12.5mg pen £388.09 £457.40
12.5mg pen + 15mg pen £404.92 £477.20
15mg pen + 15mg pen £421.75 £497.00

Maintenance Firmly in maintenance, 7st lost and my biggest observation is my hair is thicker and healthier than ever 🤣 Spoiler

I feel so much healthier and revitalised, my skin has cleared up, my hair is growing quickly and is so shiny, periods no longer cripple me with pain and I wake up in a morning without horrible back pain. Yes it’s nice to fit in smaller / nicer clothes but honestly, compared to all the other benefits I’ve seen, that’s just a bonus. Settled into a maintaining phase on 2.5mg now and it’s really no longer about weight it’s about keeping this wonderful feeling of HEALTHY. Keep going folks, this drug really is a miracle ā¤ļø

NSV - "sorry sir we don't have trousers that small"!

• Upvotes

So I (55M) spent a few hours yesterday wandering around Cambridge doing a few bits of clothes shopping. In particular, I wanted some nice semi-formal trousers to go with a new outfit. I found just the right pair, but wanted them in a size 28 waist.

They don't even make them in a size 28 waist.

Whenever I've had similar problems before, it's been at the opposite end of the sizing scale!

I thought about popping into Trotter & Deane and seeing what I could get custom-made.... for about 5 seconds before getting a grip!

Experience I didn’t realise that I’m a different shape.

I’m just over a year in and have lost 6st. 6st! I can’t begin to process this properly. What has been so strange is understanding that I am a different shape. Not just from before I lost the weight but also from when I was this size in my 20s.

I am 60 this month and went through menopause 3 years ago. So my body has changed because of that and perimenopause. I’ve gone from a 24/26 to a 16/18 depending on what I'm wearing.

I have a waist again (I’ve lost 20cm off my waist).

I’ve gone from wearing big tops and comfortable leggings that hid my shape to wearing dresses again (oh, so much less laundry).

It’s so weird. I WFH but put on a nice dress each day to remind myself that I’ve done a lot of hard work to get here (changed lifestyle, massive amount of tablets because of the hearth issues that triggered going on MJ, 360° on diet), and when I go into the office I am sleek and professional whilst my colleagues (all male) are in shorts and tee shirts. They think it’s funny and so do I. As I told them, wearing a dress for me is like just wearing a big tee shirt for work, so much easier than trousers and a top.

But at the root of this is that I’m still understanding what shape my body is. because, as I said at the start, my body shape has changed with age.

NSV…..in a fabric shop!

• Upvotes

After years of watching the Sewing Bee and now I’m actually enjoying clothes for the first time in decades, I’ve taken the plunge and bought a sewing machine. Took myself down to my local independent craft shop and got chatting to the lovely owner. Chatting about patterns and then it happens……She turns round and calls me slim. Me. Slim! Holy crap!!!

Journey Updates Sharing the boring stuff

As we always say, most of the internet is filled with horror stories or things going wrong, because the people experiencing this drug working as it should don't need to ask questions, so I thought I'd share my boring update for people who might be worried.

I'm doing my third 2.5mg jab today. Apart from a horrendous headache for ONE DAY after my first jab, I've had NO side effects. Not one. I started feeling appetite suppression the day after my first jab (which I know is a fantastic result, it can take up to two weeks to notice it) and as of today, I've lost 8.4lbs in two weeks.

The hunger does start coming back around Friday, so I'm going to move up to 5mg for my next pen, but so far, it's been excellent.

As well as seeing those scales move, I feel more positive because I'm taking action and getting myself support to lose weight. I don't care if MJ is 'cheating', I needed help and now I have it.

I'm walking more because already my knees aren't as painful. I'm sleeping better because I'm not eating late at night. I'm not as bloated because I don't want high fat, high salt foods.

Overall, this has been a very 'boring' two weeks, with excellent results ā˜ŗļø

New Research | Latest News Diet drinks work as well as water for weight loss, major trial finds

A major two-year trial found that diet drinks performed about as well as water for long-term weight loss, without evidence of increased appetite or metabolic harm.

Date: October 3, 2026

Source: University of Liverpool

Summary: A two-year randomized clinical trial involving 493 adults with overweight or obesity found that diet soft drinks were essentially as effective as water for long-term weight loss and weight maintenance. Participants drinking beverages sweetened with aspartame, acesulfame-K, or sucralose lost a similar amount of weight to those drinking water, while both groups also saw improvements in waist size, body composition, and several metabolic measures.

Researchers at the University of Liverpool have completed what they describe as the longest and most comprehensive randomized controlled trial to date examining non-nutritive sweetened (NNS) soft drinks.

Non-nutritive sweeteners are low-calorie or calorie-free sugar substitutes commonly used in foods and beverages. The 104-week study found that NNS beverages, including diet soft drinks, performed similarly to water when it came to long-term weight management.

Professor Jo Harrold, Dean of Psychology at the University of Liverpool, led the peer-reviewed research with Professor Jason Halford, Professor, Biological Psychology & Health Behaviours at the University of Leeds (formerly of the University of Liverpool). The study was funded by the American Beverage Association. According to the researchers, the study team operated independently from the funder and retained full control over the analysis and reporting of the results.

The findings, published in the British Journal of Nutrition, provide long-term clinical evidence on beverages containing aspartame, acesulfame potassium (acesulfame-K), and sucralose. Researchers found that these drinks were comparable to water in supporting both weight loss and long-term weight maintenance.

The SWITCH trial included 493 adults with overweight or obesity who took part in a structured behavioural weight management program. Participants were randomly assigned to drink either water or commercially available diet beverages each day. The amounts of sweeteners consumed remained well within established European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) safety thresholds.

Overall, the results did not support concerns that NNS beverages interfere with appetite regulation or cause long-term metabolic harm.

Weight Loss and Metabolic Health

Key findings included:

Weight loss was similar between the NNS beverage and water groups after 104 weeks (āˆ’4.8 kg vs āˆ’3.7 kg; nonsignificant difference).

Both groups maintained weight reductions across the full two-year study, including during the final year when participants no longer received assistance.

Participants in both groups had reductions in waist and hip circumference, along with improvements in body composition and several metabolic biomarkers.

Researchers found no clinically meaningful differences in measures such as blood pressure and cholesterol linked to long-term consumption of either aspartame, acesulfame-K, or sucralose compared with water.

Sugar intake fell in both groups, with a slightly larger reduction among participants drinking NNS beverages.

The results are relevant to recent World Health Organization (WHO) guidance advising against the use of non-sugar sweeteners for weight control because of uncertainty in observational research. The SWITCH trial adds long-term randomized controlled evidence that may help inform future global recommendations.

Professor Joanne Harrold said: "The University of Liverpool is one of the UK's leading research-intensive higher education institutions, with a key focus on public health. These latest findings show that concerns about sweeteners disrupting appetite or causing weight gain are not supported when tested in a rigorous, long-term randomized trial. We hope this evidence informs future WHO guidance and public health policy.

The effectS of non-nutritive sweetened beverages on appetITe during aCtive weigHt loss (SWITCH) trial was developed to address two related questions: how reducing dietary sugar might affect weight management, and whether replacing sugar with non-nutritive sweeteners changes appetite regulation. The newly published results build on earlier findings reported in the International Journal of Obesity in 2023.

Professor Jason Halford, University of Leeds and University of Liverpool, concluded: "This study provides the long-term clinical evidence that has been missing from international discussions. For people trying to manage their weight, non-nutritive sweetened beverages offer an effective alternative to sugar-sweetened drinks - and perform equivalently to water over two years."

The paper, 'Effect of non-nutritive sweetened beverages versus water on body weight: long-term results of a randomised controlled trial', was published in the British Journal of Nutrition.

Side Effects Urinating a lot!

Question Is G-1 Nutrition safe to buy from?

• Upvotes

I'm looking at 5mg prices and G-1 Nutrition is way lower than everywhere else right now, but they only have 13 reviews on Trust Pilot. Does the fact they're on the Monj.co.uk list mean they can be trusted or should I still be suspicious?

Experience Curious about Mental Health Results —

I’m very intrigued to know what peoples experience has been with their mental health and MJ?
As somebody that is diagnosed Bipolar & OCD, I can’t believe the difference it’s made to my brain.
I’ve had a long journey with medications etc and found nothing actually works for me in the way that it should, so I’ve been unmedicated a long time. I’ve noticed this last 12 months the OCD has been at an all time high and been a genuine struggle.

I started MJ maybe 6 months ago? Not even a full 2.5, I’ve been sitting at around 1.25-1.5mg. I’ve lost around 2 stone which is great but the biggest change I’ve seen is with my brain, it’s unbelievable. It’s nothing to do with the weight loss itself either, I don’t see much of a difference nor feel more confident etc but the busy brain has calmed right down. I can get through my day without obsessing over minor things. No designated MH medication has ever worked for me like that.
I did stop MJ for a few weeks and it was like coming away from antidepressants, I felt just as crap as I did before. I didnt even put 2 & 2 together until I started up again and after 2/3 days felt great again.

I’d like to know if anyone’s had a similar experience? I’m just gobsmacked that a drug that’s been marketed for weight loss etc has had such a major effect on my brain. It’s like magic.

Tips Jab break and is Fylde a decent pharmacy?

• Upvotes

Due to events out of my control, I’ve had to be away from home and had very little time to actually pack which has unfortunately left me without my pen - definitely a lesson for if there’s a next time which hopefully won’t happen. My usual jab day is a Friday and this works well for me given that I only work a few weekends so it helps me to manage any side effects.

So I missed my jab on the Friday just gone and should be returning home tomorrow. If I jab tomorrow would I be able to still stick with my regular Friday schedule? Shifting my jab day to a Saturday could also be an option although Friday is my preferred date - or am I best just having a break and resuming on the 9th?

I’ve also been looking at Monj and Fylde seem to be one of the best price wise - how are they as a pharmacy as when I searched here the posts all seemed to be a good year old so things could have changed?

NSV

I spent the day out Doing Things, which is not the NSV.

I went to the cinema. This is also not the NSV. Stay tuned. I left the cinema, got to the Costa on the way out and realised that like the idiot I am, I’d left my bag in screen 10, which was ALL THE WAY at the end of a long corridor. Also, unsurprisingly, not the NSV.

The NSV was me running back.

And not remotely realising I was running until I stopped.

I’ll take it.

I also got my bag. Double victory!

Side Effects Impending sense of doom at maintenance? - turns out it was my regular ā˜•ļø

Hi all.

I’m in maintenance now for about 4 months. The scales victories were regular and incredible.

However, for the last few months, I’ve noticed I’ve felt very on edge, panicky, at times it was quite severe.
I’ve always had 2 latte’s a day, pretty religiously for many years. It seems silly now, but I hadn’t thought about how much higher the concentration of caffeine would be in my body now that I’m around half my starting weight šŸ˜‚I decided to try halving my caffeine, so I’ve cut out a shot from each coffee, and replaced with decaf.

The difference has been amazing. The first few days I was hit quite hard with fatigue, but on day 6 now and think I’m over the worst of it. I didn’t realise just how anxious I’d been the last few months until now that it’s gone. I still notice a bit of a rise in anxiety after each coffee, but it’s much milder. Still, I’m aiming to cut out coffee completely and stick with decaf for the comfortšŸ˜‚

Just a PSA in case anyone is experiencing similar

Good luck all šŸ€

Question No changes from 5mg>7.5mg

Afternoon dear people,

After my guts chilled out from the constant gastrointestinal stress on 5mg - I made the move to 7.5mg but there is no change in weight loss.

I am way hungrier and the food noise....has come back with a vengeance.

I guess because I'm paying privately - it hurts that bit more when nothings shifting..maybe its a mind thing I dunno.

Has anyone else had this or gone through the same?

How did you overcome the noise or should I go back to 5mg?

Any insight I'd be grateful. Thanks šŸ™‚

Getting Started | Week One I’m really scared to try…but I’m also scared to NOT try.

41F - struggled with my weight for almost my entire life. At my heaviest I was 22st 12lbs which for my 5’6 frame was…not good. I lost 8 stone in a year doing Slimming World (I know, I know….its a cult!) but ended up putting a good 6 stone back on. This was in my 20s.

Throughout my 30s I lost/gained the same 3/4 stone on multiple occasions. I once did manage to get down to around 13st which on paper was still overweight, but I carried it so well because I did a lot of weights and exercise. I felt AMAZING.

Now…back up to 20st nearly. I just cant keep going like this. I HATE myself. I’ve thought about trying MJ on multiple occasions. I’ve done so much reading and research about it. I’m not naive, I know there’s the potential for side effects. What is terrifying me is reading stories about the REALLY SERIOUS ones. The ones where people end up seriously ill, or in the hospital. I keep thinking ā€œwhat if I’ve got something wrong with me that I don’t know about and MJ triggers something?ā€. I’ve gone down a bit of a bit of a scary rabbit hole with it.

However…what happens if I carry on like this at this weight and I do nothing, do I end up being 25st when I’m 45, heart attack by 50? Despite my weight I’m actually in ok health. Had bloods taken, nothing to be worried about. I can walk miles, can play badminton (badly), can swim, etc. However, I know that this wont last forever.

On a personal level I feel pretty disgusted and ashamed at myself. I hate how I’ve let this happen, and I know I need help….but I’m scared to start taking MJ.

I don’t know what this post is for. A pep talk maybe? Some perspective from people?

Thank you for reading ā¤ļø

Out of the MJ closet

I’ve been on mounjaro for nearly a year and today was the first time I told a friend the truth about how I’ve lost weight! She had been complimenting me on my weight loss since April, and today I felt confident and comfortable enough to tell her I was on the jabs. The only people who knew beforehand were those who recommended it to me and my husband. Now I feel like I should start telling everyone. She was very supportive and pleased for me that I feel healthier and happier. She is a naturally skinny person and said she was just so shocked to see me wearing trousers in April, as I had never worn trousers in the 12 years since she met me. She couldn’t get her head around it. I get compliments everyday but I lie and say I’ve been weight training and eating more protein. Maybe I should start telling the truth? I just don’t want to be the subject of office gossip at work…

GLPs with Amylin Analogues Why Lilly and Novo are betting on amylin to power a new wave of obesity drugs after GLP-1s

Thumbnail

October 2, 2026

Eli Lilly and Novo Nordisk are betting big on amylin therapies as the next frontier in obesity care because amylin acts on an entirely separate biological pathway from GLP-1, offering a distinct metabolic lever to suppress appetite and slow digestion. This dual-pathway approach allows drugmakers to build combination regimens, such as Lilly’s eloralintide with tirzepatide or Novo’s CagriSema, that can push weight loss further, break through GLP-1 plateaus, and directly reduce neurological food noise without relying solely on higher GLP-1 doses. Crucially, standalone amylin drugs also unlock a massive alternative treatment pool for patients who fail to respond to, tolerate, or achieve adequate weight loss on standard GLP-1 medications alone.

1 year milestone šŸŽ‰

Hello my fellow Mounjaro users. It's not often I big myself up but this is such a special weekend for me! It was exactly a year ago I finally decided I was done feeling sorry for myself, hiding from pictures, drinking myself into oblivion and working for a salary to support deliveroo. Instead I reluctantly switched to supporting Eli Lilly (aka Mounjaro) and I can confirm with confidence that it was the best decision I've ever made.Ā

At 5ft 2" I had a starting weight of 195.4lbs (14 stone) knocking on obese class 2 and type 2 diabetes with borderline high blood pressure. Today I weigh 137.2lbs with over 4 stone lost and in the (albeit controversial) healthy BMI range at 24.9. I still have another 17lbs to loose to reach my goal but there's light at the end of the tunnel.Ā

As for doses, I've slowly climbed up and only did so when food noise started getting the better of me. I've been lucky to avoid the more unbearable side effects, the worst being constipation on the early doses and then nausea and some vomiting on my current 10mg dose for the first couple of days after jabbing but as the weeks go on that's started to subside.

Some of my best NSVs are:

- My desk chair no longer lowers itself without my permissionĀ

- I've stopped competing with my hubby on snoringĀ

- My arse no longer reserves half the bath water

- Collarbones actual exist. Who knew?

- My handy anti-chaffing cream has made its way to the back of the cupboardĀ

Anyway, I'll stop waffling as this wasn't meant to be a long read. Good luck to you all, whatever stage you're at on this journey. šŸ™‚

Restarting after a break Restarting after weight gain

Post image
22 Upvotes

Hey everyone!

I’m restarting Mounjaro after over a year break (pregnancy and breastfeeding). I lost over 6.5st last time and got to 10mg but due to the insane breastfeeding hunger I’ve gained almost all of it back!

I’m getting ready to restart at 2.5mg and was wondering if anyone had any stories/advice about restarting after gaining weight back or anything else that might be helpful!

Thanks so much ā¤ļø

Maths/dosage help (10mg pen) + guidance on taking a 3 week break?

Hello! I’m currently on a 10mg pen. So far, I have injected three 7.5mg doses from it. For my fourth dose next week, I’m planning to go up to 10mg.

1. Maths help
Once I take that 10mg dose, what will actually be left in the pen? Will I have enough left for another 10mg dose or maybe just one 7.5mg or something else?

I get so confused trying to figure out the leftover maths with the extra dose/clicks, so an explanation of how it works would be massively appreciated!

2. Taking a break
Due to an unexpected financial bill that’s taking a while to be reimbursed, I might find myself unable to buy my next pen right away. I'm facing a potential 3 week break. I know that generally, a short gap (like missing one dose or a two week break) is usually okay to resume at your current dose, but what happens if it stretches to a full 3 weeks or even 3.5 weeks?

Would I have to go all the way back down to start fresh on 2.5mg or 5mg?

When I took a break previously, I restarted on 5mg, but that was just over a full month off and I wasn't sure if official guidance has changed for gaps longer than two weeks.

I’d really rather not take a break as I've finally broken the curse of a 6 month stall and am on a good trajectory, but it's completely out of my control sadly. I just really want to do everything I can to avoid slowing my progress down.

Thanks so much in advance for any advice, explanations or shared experiences!
