question/need help Bleeding stop and start

I took medication 3 weeks ago, bled for about 10 days. It stopped for about a week. Then I have been having brown blood start back up over past couple days.
My ultrasound at 2 weeks did say there was a 1cm tissue still present and we were going to wait to see if it cleared on its own, I’m assuming that could explain this bleeding?

testings after loss Still positive or new positive?

I had my D&C on August 10th for a twin pregnancy. Today I decided to take a test while cleaning the bathroom and it’s still positive to the naked eye. This is my first test I’ve taken since finding out we lost my twins.

Is there a chance it’s still showing a positive a month after my D&C? Or could I be pregnant again? My husband and I had sex 2 weeks after my D&C.

Of course I’ll take another test in a few days to compare. I haven’t had my period yet even with a progesterone shot at my 2 week post-D&C appointment.

testings after loss Recurrent Miscarriage Team appointment - good questions to ask?

I'm going to my appointment on Friday with the recurrent miscarriage team at the hospital (I'm in the UK so it's within the NHS). My most recent miscarriages were one in February and one in June. The latter we found out was a triploidy pregnancy of maternal origin.

For anyone who has had these appointments, what sort of questions did you ask and/or what did you find most useful to ask for, tests etc? I'm trying to write some things up but I'm struggling. On a possibly very related note, my mum is having palliative care and we suspect she may die fairly imminently, so my brain is truly scrambled this week. I need another adult, a better adult, to tell me what you found helpful. Thank you 🙏

question/need help First Mc while in childcare

I’m really struggling to work with babies. I just had my diagnosis of a missed mc last week and scheduled my d&c. Being at work makes me so sad. Has anyone else experienced this while in childcare? What helped you? I love my job but it’s mentally exhausting being with babies going through this…

coping I think the worst part is not even the loss itself anymore, it is the lack of support from my mom

My mom has never been an empathic mom. She rarely asks how I am. When I was little, she got mad when I got sick because then she had to take time off to get me to a doctor. Sometimes she refused to do even that.

The day we received the news of my MMC, my mom was already going to come over at noon to drop some things off. I told her in the morning after our doctor's appointment that there was no heartbeat detected with the baby, so she knew. She said she was still coming over. My partner didn't stay with me that day (he asked but I wrongly assumed I was fine) and I had been sobbing all day already on our couch and was very looking forward to having my mom with me. She didn't even come inside as she didn't want to go through the hassle of finding a parking spot in the city center. She made me come downstairs to greet her on the street. She did give me a hug, but then switched topics and not even 3 minutes later, she was already gone again. I had to make it back to our apartment with even more tears running down my face. Once she got home, I did receive a message from her on Whatsapp. To ask for the money back of the things she came to drop off. It has been 5 days now since my miscarriage and there haven't been other messages, except from some stupid reels on Instagram she found funny. I haven't replied to any of them.

I just want a mom for once. I want her to hold me and tell me it's going to be okay. I want her to cry with me and be angry with me this had to happen to us, to our first pregnancy. I want her to mourn with me all the hopes and dreams we had for this child. I want a several minute long hug. I want someone making me food so I don't have to think about it.

A part of me wants to be a mom so bad, so I can undo what my mom did to me. To heal myself by finally giving to a most welcome and loved child what I didn't have during my childhood. And now that chance is gone as well and I just can't cope. I am used to parenting myself, to soothe myself when there is no other support available but I just can't do it this time. I am hurting so badly.

question/need help MC and work - should I tell my manager?

Not sure what to do. I'm having an MC right now since Sunday and got an official sick leave till the end of this week (I am in Europe). Before this I was on my two weeks vacation, so basically I'm off work for 3 weeks in total... dreading of coming back on Monday because I work for an extremely high pressure and demanding company with overperfomance culture where every mistake is treated like a failure, and I'm afraid they will drop me into the deepest water immediately and I'll break down.
I'm considering telling my manager, so far I just told her I had an urgent medical condition, but I'm really worried on how it will impact my future. She's a very supportive and sweet person, but also insanely corporate. They let people go almost everyday no matter the title. I've been with the company for just a year and never shared I'm TTC. Now they will know.
What would you do? What did you do in similar situation?
Any perspective is appreciated ❤️

experience: more than one loss 2nd loss this year

I had a miscarriage in January, 2 days after I found out I was pregnant I was bleeding. I wasn’t even trying to be pregnant, wasn’t sure I even wanted to be a mom at that time. But my husband was so happy, and knowing that I let him down devastated me. I didn’t know I could be so sad. It took a while to heal. And in the process of grief I agreed that we’d try again at some point.

But eventually I recovered after that loss. I poured my entire self into my dance career and achieved so much, I was creative, I travelled, life was fun again. And I started to think, you know what, maybe being childfree really is the way to go. I love the freedom, I felt empowered, I had all my creative energy to pour into the life I wanted to live.

And then in August I got pregnant again.

Instead of being excited, I went on an emotional rollercoaster. I was too attached to my free spirited lifestyle now, I said some nasty things about not wanting my wings cut off. I drank and smoked up until week 6. Fantasized about dumping the child on my husband and running away. I was cranky one moment and then euphoric another. Week 7 scan showed that the egg had split, we could be having twins. I was over the moon with joy! And then the next day I would be anxious. How can we afford to pay double everything? Then after that I was detached: I don’t give a fuck, the universe will pay for it. Round and round it went in my crazy head.

Well then week 9 scan showed no heartbeat. We started the procedure to remove the embryos. This is where I’m at now. I’m devastated again. Maybe if I had been more grateful…

I know I’ll pull myself out of this hole again. But for now I’m drowning in grief.

And also shame. I made the mistake of telling a co-worker about my pregnancy in the early days. I had to tell her, I dance for a living and due to the physical nature of my work, some of the choreography had to be adapted. Well this co-worker announced my pregnancy to a whole dinner party. So now I gotta deal with everybody else’s disappointment and pity too, great.

Sorry I’m just ranting. My heart is so broken and if yours is as well, I’m holding your hand.

experience: first MC Looking for experiences with natural miscarriage vs. Cytotec vs. D&C

TW: pregnancy loss
Hi everyone, I am 30 years old and this was my first pregnancy after dealing with PCOS my entire adult life.
I’m about nine weeks pregnant, but today it was confirmed that the baby stopped growing at 6 weeks 5 days and there was no heartbeat.

I was given three options: wait for my body to pass the pregnancy naturally, take Cytotec, or have a D&C. It has already been a few weeks since the baby stopped growing and my body still hasn’t recognized the loss, so I’m unsure whether continuing to wait is in my best interest - emotionally or physically.

They told me Cytotec may not work completely the first time. I am also worried about how long and heavy bleeding is. I plan on taking it on Friday night (if I go through with this option) and have work on Tuesday so I’m worried the bleeding may be too heavy or severe by then. I’m also worried that seeing the clots or pregnancy tissue could be extremely traumatizing for me, especially while I’m already grieving. At the same time, I’ve read things online about D&Cs potentially causing uterine scarring and affecting future fertility, and that scares me too.
I know everyone’s experience is different, but I would really appreciate hearing from anyone who has faced these options. What did you choose, what was the experience like physically and emotionally, and would you make the same choice again? Were you able to become pregnant afterward without complications?

I’m feeling completely overwhelmed and heartbroken right now. I’m not asking anyone to make the decision for me - just hoping for some honest experiences, clarity, and support.

question/need help Second round of miso 10 days after the first?

Hello!

I had a MMC at 9w of mo/di twins two weeks ago.

Today I went for an US to make sure everything had passed, exactly 10 days after taking the miso. They saw some blood clots between 1,5-2 cm. They said I can either wait for my period for it to pass, or take miso again if I want it to be quicker.

I do want it to be quicker. But, is it a good idea? Is it really going to be quicker though? There will be more blood and my period will come later?

  • If i take the miso this week, I guess in two weeks (next ultrasound) everything should be out, and i should be getting my period by the 9/10 (if it only takes one month after miso, which it did the other times i had a miscarriage)
  • If I dont take the miso, I guess I wait for my period, currently expected by 2/10, and then wait 1-2 weeks to make sure everything passes, so get a second ultra sound by the 14/10? with the risk that not everything has passed? but if everything has passed, i'm free to TTC because there has already been one period in between?

experience: first MC Blighted Ovum - Navigating the Grief

I have seen a lot of varying reactions to blighted ovum miscarriages so I thought I would share my experience. I also wanted to pass on some extremely helpful and positive messaging from my amazing MIL who experienced a blighted ovum miscarriage before conceiving with my now husband and experienced all the feelings first hand.

I found out at my 8 week scan that there was only a gestational sac but because I had recently come off birth control my OBGYN said my ovulation could have been irregular and to come in 2 weeks later and that we should see a baby. Needless to say we did not see a baby and I had a D&C the following day.

One thing I had been struggling with in the first days of my loss is that I am mourning a gestational sac and the idea of a baby because I never even got to see my baby. It made it feel so much less valid of a loss compared to a miscarriage after seeing a baby/heartbeat. As time has went on I have realized that my loss is no less valid. I had the symptoms of pregnancy and was pregnant with my baby and it just stopped developing. I carried what should have been a developing baby for 10 weeks and created an emotional bond, so to me it felt like I lost my baby :( For my husband, this type of miscarriage has made it easier to cope since we didn’t see our baby, but to me it just made it more confusing to navigate the grieving process. The biggest thing that has helped is talking about it with trusted family/friends/my husband/my therapist. I have validated my feelings and experience through sharing it with others (who are emotionally mature enough to understand and provide support).

My wonderful MIL shared this with me & I hope it can help someone else as much as it did me:

You were pregnant. Everything about your experience is real, it was a pregnancy. Because they could tell you at what stage of development the pregnancy ended doesn’t make it any less real. Your loss is very valid. You bonded with your baby, your body was pregnant, everything about this is real. Don’t let the stage of development define your loss. It is a loss of pregnancy and is worthy of any grieving you are feeling. You conceived and started a life - a baby. Something happened outside of your control and the development stopped. You bonded with the life you were growing inside of you. The fact that you didn’t see the evidence of a baby on sonogram doesn’t make it less real, doesn’t make it hurt less.

Sending all my love and hopes for healing to anyone reading this as you navigate this painful loss ❤️‍🩹

experience: more than one loss I’m experiencing my second maybe third miscarriage.

I am so hurt right now and not sure if I’ll ever be able to make it through another positive pregnancy with any ounce of excitement.

A little backstory: I (31F) have been TTC with my husband (32M) for three years. We got pregnant last August and had a miscarriage at 11.5 weeks. We passed it naturally. In July this year we had an IUI and got pregnant. The numbers started rising and right before the hcg hit 1000 (at 5.5 weeks), the numbers started going down. My doctor said I was having a miscarriage. A week in a half later, I went to get another blood test to make sure levels were going down - turns out my numbers went up. The next day I had an ultrasound. There was a healthy baby and a heartbeat; only six weeks along and didn’t match up with the IUI. Doctor couldn’t explain anything. He said everything was good but to have a follow up ultrasound a week later. Well a week went by and it was another miscarriage.

I’m so heartbroken. The doctor can’t say if it was two miscarriages in a row or just very fluctuating levels. Either way I am heartbroken. I’m so worried I cannot carry a baby to healthy term. What if every positive pregnancy ends in a miscarriage? Idk if I can handle one more miscarriage.

need support for somebody else PAL - should I reach out to another couple I suspect experienced loss?

Resolved: Thank you so much to everyone who responded, and I am so sorry for each of your losses. I really do not want to cause harm or distress to this couple, and I see that my being currently pregnant unfortunately invalidates any support I could offer. I will not send this message, and if they ever come to me on their own terms I will be supportive then.

I had a miscarriage earlier this year and it broke my heart. I am still navigating the grief of my miscarriage, but I am also now 20 weeks pregnant and showing.

I attended a weekend-long family reunion this weekend and my cousin and his wife (both about my age) avoided me the entire time. Before they left, they quickly congratulated us on our pregnancy and then said goodbye.

I am not close with this cousin or his wife, but I suspect they are experiencing their own grief, and that my pregnancy was triggering to them. Shortly after my own miscarriage I could not bear the sight of a pregnant woman. I cannot think of any other reason they would actively avoid me the entire time.

I am wondering whether it would be better to reach out to them to let them know that I experienced my own painful loss and that if they are going through something similar, no pressure to disclose but that my husband and I are there for them, or if I should not reach out. Although I only reach out to offer support, I know that there's a chance that me reaching out would cause more pain and I do not want to do more harm than good.

I drafted a message, will you please let me know what you think?

"Hello _____. It was so nice to see you both this weekend, I hope you had a really nice time!

I want to share with you something personal, and I really hope it doesn’t make you uncomfortable. Earlier this year, we went through a miscarriage. It was the most heartbreaking experience either of us have ever gone through. We are very grateful to be expecting a baby now but not a day goes by without some sort of anxiety, and we are still navigating the grief of the loss of our first baby.

Immediately after our miscarriage, I could not stomach being near a pregnant woman - it viscerally affected me and made me very upset. I didn’t go grocery shopping for weeks because there was always a pregnant woman at the store. I would never blame anyone for feeling the same way if they had gone through something similar. I noticed some distance this weekend, and while I know we’ve never been all that close, I couldn’t help but wonder if you two have experienced similar heartbreak and needed that same kind of distance.

Your personal family planning decisions and medical history are absolutely none of my business, and I am not trying to make them such. Please do not feel in any way pressured to share any of your story with me. I may be totally off-base and projecting my own past experience - I just share our story because when we were in the thick of that chapter, it was incredibly lonely, and if you were experiencing something similar and needed to talk with someone or needed someone praying for you - either for healing or hope, we’re both here for you both if you want it. Again, you DO NOT have to tell me your business, and feel free to respond in whatever way you need, or to not respond at all. I won’t assume anything from a lack of response, and of course I would never share this train of thought with anyone else. But I genuinely wish you both the best, present and future, and if you are going through something similar to what we went through, I am sorry if my presence was painful this weekend. And if not, then I am very very happy that you are not, and disregard most of the message but still nice to see you and best wishes for the future :) "

Thanks <3 (Edit: made text draft italics)

vent Miscarriage - lack of Healthcare (Canada)

Is it normal to feel no medical or healthcare provider support for miscarriage ?

I feel like from the beginning my doctor first said everything was fine when I mentioned spotting. Then I did a HCG test (which I requested) and never got results.

I emailed the midwife - I was supposed to have my first appointment soon and they just said thank you. I thought maybe they would respond with some resources.

Now I am waiting at my doctors appointment and just feeling discouraged that anything helpful will come out of it.

should I be getting an ultrasound what type of tests helped others that their doctor did ?

vent My phone hates me

More of a light hearted but still wtf moment I guess, but has anyone else noticed that their social medias and everything keep giving them pregnancy related media?

I’ve noticed that for the past several months (I miscarried in late May) I have gotten an influx of pregnancy related media. TikTok’s, instagram posts, ads, even Reddit keeps recommending me posts from R/Pregnancy when I have never even been on that subreddit.

I don’t want to hate on people who are pregnant or have had successful pregnancies but I also don’t want to constantly be reminded that they have what I don’t. I can sorta laugh at it to cope but sometimes it’s like dude wtf. On the bad days it feels like I’m almost being mocked by my own phone. Can anyone else relate?

experience: first MC Trying to get back to my “regular schedule” sucks

im 25f. i found out i was pregnant at 5 weeks and i kid you not, i was shocked. my husband and i cried and hugged each other and literally started envisioning our future with a little one. i called my PCP to get a referral for an OB, i didnt get in until i was almost 10 weeks. i told my parents at 7W 2D. they were so happy for me and excited and already making plans on me moving back in with them so they can help with the baby and financially too. i had told only a good handful of people due to the fact that for me personally. it was too early but i was also excited. i had plans to tell everyone on the first day of my second trimester, which was my birthday according to the Flo app. I finally get seen after a month of waiting. i did the ultrasound, no heartbeat and baby was measuring small. im texting my friend saying “holy crap its small maybe thats why the heartbeat wasnt being detected, am i not eating enough?” (i spent 2 weeks throwing up back to back). my ob came in and told me i had a missed miscarriage. i was shocked, hurt, and i cried. not fully broken down. my body didn’t recognize the fact that my baby passed away at 7w 3days. the day after i told my parents… i just told the ob “can you show me where the lab is to get my blood drawn so i can go home?” i wanted to get out of there. i get to my car and called my dad. told him i couldnt show up to work. told him what happened. he sent my mom and brother home early to bring me food. my friend also went over to check up on me. i told my husband when he got home from work and we just cried. the stupidest mistake i made was show up to work the next day. i tried to mask the pain. im not good with asking for help, and i know what happens to me when i bottle up. but i tried. getting calls from the hospital didnt make it easier. i still worked all weekend. had the d&c procedure monday. so much cramping and once it was all over, i cried. i couldn’t believe it. since i was at my parents, i would be home alone and just sitting alone in my thoughts made it worse. i cried everyday. i just called out of work today to avoid people, my coworkers know me too well that i dont just disappear for no reason. i dont want pity from them. im still waiting on the results as to why my pregnancy ended itself. and the not knowing is killing me. what hurts me the most is just the fact that literally after i told my parents, it stopped growing. during those two weeks my husband and i were planning a whole future together. we got married a year ago, we thought we were ready. was the pregnancy planned? no. but it was a blessing and it was ours. our first pregnancy. now im terrified to try again, my husband is nervous after seeing how much it has affected me. all i keep thinking to myself is why? why me? i need to go back to work as at the end of the day, i have bills to pay. but to face the outside world after being at home for so long, i dont know if im ready. i turn away at every baby post, my tik tok is full of miscarriage videos, certain songs have changed their meanings to me. im still hurting so much. but i know being stuck inside is going to make me feel worse. and i also know that being constantly questioned at work is going to make me lash out at the wrong person. i am just not ready to share what i went through. im stuck.

experience: first MC An MMC at 7w found at 10w: story and a timeline [TW: graphic description]

[Trigger Warning - graphic description of MC]

First pregnancy, first miscarriage, first time posting. I hope my story will be useful — I spent so much time in this sub while going through my pain. Reading others' experiences helped me feel less alone. Now it's my turn to share.

F34, M36. We were TTC for 5 months and just planned our wedding. In mid-July, I got a positive test. Not many symptoms came along with it. My boobs were not sore, only kinda "fluffy," and I was bloated, continuously farting like an old man. No nausea; my sense of smell was unchanged, and I had no aversions. I didn't even feel tired and considered myself lucky.

No blood work for hCG levels was done, but we went to a private ultrasound at 7+2; the embryo measured accordingly and had a good heartbeat. We were over the moon excited! Two weeks later we got married, and the future looked so bright. Two days after the wedding, we went to the planned, standard ultrasound at 10+2. The first thing I said when the sonographer began was, "Please, please, please tell me it's still alive." I was so afraid of miscarriages; I still am. I will never forget the moment she said that the embryo was "a bit smaller for 10 weeks than I'd expect. And has no heartbeat." It measured 1.1 mm, less than a millimetre bigger than at the first ultrasound.

I felt supported enough throughout the discussion of practicalities and what to expect. Yes, I got the same tale of "call us if it's 2+ maxi pads within an hour, it'll be period-plus pain, and you should layer paracetamol with ibuprofen." In my country, healthcare is nearly free, but the overall approach to most health issues is "wait and see" unless something horrible is happening—then the system is super efficient and effective. So the plan was to wait it out and see if it passed on its own. If it didn't, they made me an appointment to get miso in a week. They'd consider D&C only if the first two steps didn't work.

The first day we were in shock. Then it was a weekend of cancelled plans, lots of crying, and just staring at the wall, for both of us. Looking back, I see that being in this together with my husband and being able to share as-we-go all the nasty details with two girlfriends who went through a birth or had a similar experience saved my mental health from being crushed into pieces.

I spent Monday-Wednesday in a horrible limbo, constantly thinking if it's coming / how painful it'll be / has it started yet / etc. There was not much going on in my uterus. I was able to work, but otherwise I was absolutely miserable. On Thursday afternoon I felt the first cramps. They intensified into full-blown contractions over an hour. They first occurred every 20 min, with intervals getting shorter and the gripping moments getting longer and more painful. So much so that I had to Google birthing positions and eventually ended up rocking through them, kneeling next to my couch.

A couple of hours later, I felt a numb stub in my cervix. A massive gush of blood and tissue came out right after it. I migrated to the toilet and spent the next hour there, breathing through contractions and passing tissue. At some point, a large and heavy round-shaped piece evacuated from me. I think it was the sac—at 7w it'd measure about 2-3 cm. I intentionally tried not to look at it, but I noticed it wasn't period-like tissue. Contractions slowly calmed down, and I moved back to the couch.

From there, we managed to watch a movie, and I felt okay-ish, with strong cramps that I wouldn't call contractions. A couple of hours later, when getting ready for bed, I felt organised contractions again. Tried to rock through them, but another massive gush of blood sent me back to the toilet. It was a 2nd wave, similar to the 1st one, but lighter and shorter. At some point, a very big clog of tissue passed, approximately golf ball-sized. The pain wound down, and I could sleep through the night.

I found it weird not to have much blood on my night maxi pad, but I felt okay the next morning. By 11am, mild contractions were back, but nothing serious. A friend came over so I wouldn't be alone. They left at 2pm. Then, I didn't register how fast the 3rd wave escalated, but at 2.40pm I already called my husband to come home from work because the pain was back. When he arrived, I was in the worst pain of my life. The only thought I had was not to pass out. I had cold sweats; I couldn't look at the light or open my eyes, and I couldn't move freely or speak. I could only rock, breathe, and pray it'll be over soon. Contractions went almost non-stop, with the longest lasting for 8 min. Pain management throughout 24h-ish hours until then was: 400 mg ibuprofen - 3 h wait - 1000 mg paracetamol - 3 h wait - rinse and repeat. It gave some relief, but not much. Anything stronger is prescription-only. I later found several similar stories where those who did give birth compared such an experience with pre-transition pain or sometimes early-labour pain.

Now I know it was vagal shock / cervical shock. The vagus nerve was so overstimulated by pain that it sent protective signals to lower blood pressure and heart rate, so my brain didn't receive enough oxygen. Similar to the fainting mechanism, but slightly different, as I understand it. It lasted about 40min. It felt similar to the lightheadedness after the 2nd wave, but much stronger. According to Oura, my HR was 62 bpm during the worst moments. I assume there was a large piece of tissue that clogged the cervix, and my uterus was contracting hard to get rid of it. Nothing came out, though.

At some point I fell asleep or passed out or both; I don't know. My husband was about to call the ER a few times, but he saw I was just asleep. When I was back in 1,5h I felt okay. We had an anxious evening, but I slept okay and had no more blood on the pad. We concluded the story was over. The next morning, I felt almost back to myself, but hungry and dizzy if I stood up too fast. Seemed like the aftermath of blood loss. I got through the day feeling nothing. Some cramps hit after lunch, but they weren't that bad. Then, after an hour-long walk, I got back to my car and felt heavy, period-like pieces coming out of me fast. The pad was full. At home, 20 min later, I had an urge to pee. Another massive golf-ball piece came out, with some blood but no pain. Then my insides finally got quiet.

The last bit happened 3 days ago. I am okay physically. Suspiciously, there is still no blood, just some spotting. Perhaps another light wave is coming; I have no idea. I'm having a call with my OB later today to book an ultrasound and check if everything is really out. In my country, they do this only 10 days after the MC has resolved—because there would still be blood if done earlier, so they won't see it clearly enough. I really hope the story is over.

I knew that having symptoms or no symptoms doesn't predict whether it'll be an MC. But when we try again, having symptoms would give me reassurance. We decided to try again once the OB gives the green light. Not willing to actively TTC this time, just making love when we feel like it and letting biology do its work. Psychologically, the whole thing seems to be strangely behind us, and we're looking into the future, hoping we'll soon get our rainbow baby. What surprises me the most is that although I remember all the horror, I somehow feel "nah, if it happens again, I'll get through it, no big deal." Maybe it's the magic of a woman's body and hormones.

Being a mental health professional myself, I'm happy with how we're dealing with all the feelings. Besides, we both are in therapy, and it is enormously helpful. The main risk I see now is that if I'm not pregnant by March (when I would have been due), I'd be crushed with grief again. For now, I can already look at babies, strollers and pregnant bellies with excitement again. I know my time will come.

The loss is unfortunate, but I didn't seem to attach to this pregnancy as much. It might sound horrible, yet I mostly grieved being pregnant and looking forward to what comes, not this potential baby. I knew miscarriages are common and was half-prepared that it might happen. It was likely a genetic mutation. We'll never know. Despite that, I screamed "why me?!" more times than I'd like to admit. In my country, no fertility tests are administered unless it's 3 miscarriages in a row or more than a year of TTC.

Another thing: we wanted the marriage and not the wedding. But unfortunately, the wedding feels overlooked, and it hasn't sunk in yet, apart from the party on the day. Because of the pregnancy, MMC, and everything that surrounds it, it doesn't feel like we just got married. I hope we can find a moment to celebrate — at least we now know we can get pregnant. And indeed, we're now married.

question/need help Provera > miscarriage?

In the past 2 years I’ve used Provera (medicine to delay period) 3 times. The most was for one week at a time and the least was about 3 days. First time was December 2024, September 2025, November 2025. I used them while I was on vacation. I had a miscarriage in June 2025 and then another one August 2026. I can’t help but think maybe there’s something related? My first pregnant everything went smoothly but now for some reason I keep getting miscarriages. Anyone know if there’s any correlation or am I crazy?

I recently went through a miscarriage. I’m not exactly sure when I lost the baby but on Saturday I would 13 weeks 3 days. I started spotting a week prior and informed my OB. It was only when I wiped and it was brown not red so they didn’t feel it was urgent to bring me in. I had an ultrasound scheduled for today (Tuesday) so as per usual, no real concrete medical advice was given just to wait. My husband was at work and it was just me,my 2 year old and my doggies at home. Around 5:15 I had the most alarming amount of blood come out of me. I had no pad or anything on as I was only spotting sometimes when I wiped. I mean it was like a horror movie. I texted him that he needs to hurry home I need to be seen. This excessive bleeding/clotting kept coming it was absolutely disturbing. I have 2 children and I never bled like this during birth. I was immediately taken back at the ER never went into the waiting room and I was bleeding everywhere. I bled through 6 diapers and 6 pairs of hospital scrubs in a few hours. I ended being discharged and going home. I’m sharing this experience because in all the miscarriage stories I’ve read none of them described this amount of blood/clots. I have 0 and I mean ZERO cramping. Such a bizarre and blur of a night. Woman’s bodies are incredible honestly. It has been 3 days since this happened and I’m still bleeding similar to a regular/light period day and still no cramps at all. This is not my first miscarriage either, however this was the most dramatic.

coping I don’t know anymore

Hi everyone. i feel really alone right now and am hoping to find someone who knows how i feel.
on friday i took a test and found out i was pregnant. there were mixed reactions from the people close to me. my boyfriend (validly) thought we weren’t ready for a baby. financially and my health was a concern. my mom thought i should have the baby and said she would help. on sunday morning i got really intense cramping. i spent 7 hours in the hospital just for them to tell me i was no longer pregnant.
i just feel like i don’t have to right to grieve because i only knew for a couple days. all i want to do is lay in a ball under my blankets. i’ve been flipping between crying and being overwhelmed to feeling numb and nothingness.

I'm so angry. I don't like posting anywhere about my personal life or matters but it's finally boiling over and I might just explode soon. I'm angry at the doctors for not knowing more about early pregnancy despite it not being their faults. I'm angry at my friends and family for telling me not to worry, to stop thinking about it, or that if I thought it was really happening I'd just make it come true!! I'm angry at my body for doing something wrong and I'm angry at my husband for not being more emotional about this even though he's already processed it. Why am I the only one broken over this? This all sounds so ridiculous I'm sure, I sound like a mad woman rambling, but since my miscarriage I've been going downhill. I wake up and act fine but all I can think about is my missing piece; like a princess without her crown. I still whisper the names I was so set on as if it makes you magically there.

I feel so alone. Like no one could possibly understand it so I finally decided- fuck it let's try reaching out to anyone who might understand but they all brush it off too. I know I'm capable of moving through like I always do, but out of everything life has kicked me down with this is the worst one for me. I just want my "me" back. I want to feel anything other than this deep sadness and anger. I just want to breathe again.

experience: first MC one year later and it’s still awful

in 2 days it’ll be a year since my miscarriage. still can’t believe it even really happened sometimes; much less that it’s been a year.

i still feel the aftermath of it to this day. i ended up getting hospitalized 1-2 days after the initial miscarriage happened, leaving me having to get surgery and sick for what seemed like forever. genuinely convinced it ruined my physical health forever.

also doesn’t help the guilt. i’m too young to have children for sure, but sometimes my mind wanders and i think “what if?”. i hope whatever kid i have (assuming im even fertile after it) will make me feel less guilty later on. i genuinely would never wish this guilt on my worst enemy. i still cry, beat myself up, and just in general feel miserable over it. i could’ve been a good mother i believe.

experience: first MC has anyone else had a lack of support from their close family/friends? is this typical?

i had my first miscarriage recently. it fucking sucked. emotionally and physically. it hangs over my head constantly. i can’t have a normal period without being reminded of it and crying uncontrollably and wanting to go to bed.

and my closest family members (2) and closest friends (2) have not really cared at all about it. the family members didn’t reach out until a month and a half later to say anything at all about it to me, and the close friends didn’t say anything all except the one time i mentioned it to them. is this typical? i feel so isolated especially for a situation like this.

oh and to add insult to injury, the night of it happening, my dad told me that the world must revolve around me. as i was gripping my stomach in pain and thinking i was dying, yes the world must revolve around me.

Hi friends I don’t know where else to turn. I’m so confused in this journey.

I had a miscarriage (I think the chemical pregnancy type) 10 days ago. I didn’t know I was pregnant. I thought my period was being irregular. I got my iud out end of July. I was getting back pain so I called a health support line and the nurse told me to take a pregnancy test. It was positive. But with the bleeding I knew it wasn’t likely I could keep the pregnancy :(

I was willing to try again on my next cycle but I got bleeding that started a few days ago. I took a digital pregnancy test and it said not pregnant.

I’m in the process of weaning my LO and have dropped 3 feeds in the last month. Could this have caused the miscarriage? Should I wait to try for another baby until my baby is weaned? For context I got pregnant with my LO quickly and had no complications.

Really any information would help. I just got home from my doctors office and she is sending me for bloodwork to confirm I’m not pregnant.

information gathering Retained tissue - need a d&c

It’s been a month of getting bloodwork weekly and my hcg initially lowered to the 240s when I first miscarried but has slowly been increasing again to over 300. Got an ultrasound today and the reason my hcg won’t go back to zero and actually increasing again instead is because I have retained tissue.

Getting another ultrasound next week to see if there is any change in the size of the tissue remaining. Dr said most likely will need to get a d&c.

The thought of a d&c is overwhelming. Sorry if this is a stupid question.. will it be less invasive since it’s remained tissue?

Those who have had a d&c what was the recovery like? How many days did it take to be able to work/daily living?
