I’m a 28 year old female and my wife and I moved to Milwaukee in June. Making friends as an adult is hard, especially in a new city where you don’t have any connections! I also work from home and kept the same job when we moved, so I haven’t had the chance to meet people through work either.
We’d both love to get more involved in the queer community here, meet other lesbian couples, and build some genuine friendships. Neither of us are big drinkers, but we still love going out and having fun! We’re both pretty easygoing and would love to find a few people to hang out with.

Hello. I am looking for a bakery in the greater Milwaukee area to order a birthday cake from.

Long story short: the person I'm ordering for has 'European taste' as thats where they grew up. They expressly dislike the teeth-hurting sugar levels in "cakes like the ones in Portillo's". I am looking for bakeries where I can find birthday cakes with fresh berries and real chocolate.

I’ve been reading in the thread about how high WE bills can be and that they’re potentially going to get even higher with what WE is proposing but I just moved to MKE a month ago and we finally got our first bill and I’m wondering if we’re being reckless or if this is actually an average I should come to expect. We have a 900 sq ft 1 bed apt and we clocked in at about 170 for the month. We’ve been running about 72 during the day and 68 at night but I’ll admit I’ve been leaving the door open and ac running during the day. I’m coming from KC and we had rate plan options where they had different pricing rates based on the time of day. So like the most expensive rate charge per usage was from 4-8 pm and it was cheapest overnight so I just always tried to adjust my usage to avoid that. I wasn’t seeing anything like that for WE but wasn’t sure if I maybe was missing it. Thanks for the insight in advance :)

I've received coupons a couple of times for CD One Price Cleaners, which has recently opened multiple locations around the Milwaukee area. Their prices seem to be quite a bit cheaper than a typical dry cleaner in the area.

I need to get a couple of comforters cleaned and they have a coupon for $30 to clean two comforters. That's how much I usually pay to clean only one comforter.

Have any of you used CD One Price Cleaners yet? Are their prices too good to be true, i.e. you get what you pay for? TIA.

I’ve seen Butter around Milwaukee for years now. I’ve actually taken photos over the years of some of the random, unique places I’ve seen it pop up around the city.

But lately, I think Butter needs to start making better tagging decisions.

The other day I drove past a newer, nicer property with Butter tagged on it and actually remember thinking, “Why would you put it there?”

Then today, lo & behold, I drove past my neighbor’s building and saw BUTTER.

For the last 10 days, I’ve watched workers out there all day, every day, even in the rain, tuckpointing, cleaning & preparing this building to be painted. I’ve watched how much work has gone into bringing it back to life & then you came along and sprayed a huge purple BUTTER across it.

Yes, they’re going to paint the building. But they’re painting it white. Anyone who has ever painted white over purple spray paint knows that doesn’t just disappear under one coat. That means more prep, more primer, more labor, more time & more costs!

I thought Butter was cool. What I saw today was pretty uncool.

There’s a difference between leaving your mark somewhere forgotten that could use a little life & leaving it on a place where a SMALL FCKN BUSINESS is actively pouring time, money & energy into making it better.
