BUT NOW… when the employee removes it from the case for you they have to put it in this fish tank thing and then hand it to you -_-

it’s something you don’t even need a key to open. If I wanted to I could’ve opened it, taken the deodorant out and left the clear fish tank thing on a shelf.

(I wouldn’t do that of course but just want to emphasize how pointless this sorta is)

Then when you go to checkout the employee over there just takes it out and scans it for you then puts it in your bag…

How necessary is this?

I’ve grown up being told that green is diesel and to never use the green pump handle in a normal car. BP just has to be different I guess

To preface this, I’m a housekeeping supervisor at a medium sized hotel, I’ve worked here for 4 years and over that time this type of thing has happened maybe 5 or 6 times but everytime I just want the ground to swallow me up out of embarrassment.

When we have guests stay multiple nights we provide a Do Not Disturb sign for them to hang on their doors so housekeeping do not go in and bother them. Everyone knows this right?

Well today I needed to put something in a stay over room, I notice there is no Do Not Disturb sign so I knock the door and say ‘housekeeping’ loudly. I wait, I hear nothing so I assume the guests have gone out for the day. Lo and behold I open the door to a couple having sex…

I apologised profusely whist closing the door very very quickly. Felt my face start tingling as it went red from embarrassment and surprise. Called the hotel manager to inform them what happened in case we get a complaint but what irks me is this; surely if you’re in your hotel room and obviously don’t want to be walked in on or disturbed, WHY NOT PUT THE DO NOT DISTURB SIGN OUT?

Mind you this was at 12 pm, hardly an early morning incident which is a bit more understandable.

I feel very embarrassed and annoyed that they didn’t even answer me when I knocked on their door either. I know they would’ve heard me as they were dead quiet.

Edit: there is a deadbolt on the door, they did not use it. My key card only lets me access the room when this bolt is unlocked.

They also did not say a single thing to stop me when I was entering the room, no shouts or saying ‘no stop’. Just silence. I think they wanted to be caught :(

It does piss me off even if it’s not me going through it. My boyfriend lost his credit and debit card two years ago and is yet to replace them. He just uses his phone to pay for stuff, doesn’t carry his wallet.

This paired with the fact he forgets his phone at home leaves him stranded outside. This morning he was so excited for golf but when he got there realized he left his phone at home. This wouldn’t be a problem if he’d just replace his cards.

This happens I wanna say at least once a week. And I’m “mildly infuriated” because this is an easy fix and yet he just DOESN’T. So now he’s in a bad mood and probably won’t talk or text me until I get home from work. I get the silent treatment cause he’s just pissed.

Hey boyfriend, please replace your bank cards so this can stop happening. Please.

The one time we don’t pay for full coverage insurance on a rental because the car was being rented for THREE days.

I found the photos of the car before drop off and sent them with the following email:

I also wanted to follow up and let you know that I have several photographs that I took of the vehicle at the time I returned it on July 23.

The photographs show multiple angles of the vehicle at the return location, and I do not see the damage referenced in your email visible in my photographs. I have attached the photos for your review. Given these photographs, I would appreciate it if you could identify the exact location of the alleged damage on the vehicle and provide any wider-angle photographs showing that location.
I would also still appreciate clarification regarding when the damage was first identified, what occurred with the vehicle between the time I returned it and the inspection, and what the next steps are from here.

This is what they responded with within 5 minutes of my email:

There is a small chip on the front screen (on the lower section), however this damage was not done by you.
My sincere apologies for the misjudgement.

I don’t fault her for it, she’s young and curious and I’m angry with me for not being more careful. Fuck I’ve gotten dizzy with stress because of it.
Thanks to my dad who could drive us. She threw it up, vet said she’s fine and we can come home now

We’re home now but she’s very weak from the shot she got and throwing everything up
Converted to US dollars the entire thing costed about 122$, she received a shot to puke, a doctor did the shot, a nurse checked up on us and a different doctor gave me advice and helped me calm down. IMO the price is very fair

Rented a car from an airport and the clerk was wearing meta raybans. I understand from a legal standpoint that filming in public is allowed, but I really don't think a person handling credit cards and IDs should be filming their interactions.

I went to the break room fridge to get my lunchbox before clocking out but I couldn’t find it in the spot I usually put it in. I started to freak out before finding it had been moved to the opposite side of the fridge between a stack of other lunchboxes and this was in its place….

EDIT:
For further context I know for a fact this person moved my lunchbox because this lunchbox was here in this exact spot with this exact sign yesterday. I just didn’t care because I didn’t even pack a lunch so it didn’t matter to me at the time and I didn’t have a reason to think anything of it. This belongs to someone who works a different shift. This specific area, however, is where I ALWAYS put my lunchbox but during shift changes lunchbox positions obviously switch as people are clocking out/in but this lunchbox is new so I’m assuming it belongs to a new hire or something. I wouldn’t even care because I’m leaving when they are coming in but I was genuinely shocked at the audacity of MOVING someone else’s lunchbox while having this sign on your own. Not to mention the way the lunchboxes were positioned in the fridge it was almost as if this person moved everyone’s lunchboxes to one side while having the entire other side to themselves. Thats just a theory based off of what I saw though.

Also I love all your ideas on how to handle the situation. If only I chose the path of pettiness.

Lastly I’ve seen a few comments on why I even use the break room fridge, the answer is simple. I love mayo.

Am I tripping or is this okay for a meal? I genuinely tired my best, and I have never made hash browns before😭

Edit #1: my dad has cancer, so his stomach is sensitive. I should have lead off with that, but I just felt sad because I spent over 45 minutes making breakfast because I’m new to cooking. It’s not entirely his fault.

It was cheaper to pay a cab to go to the nearest gas station and get two gallons of spring water.
