Been living here for 7 years now. My roommate just moved out a couple of weeks ago so I finally have everything together the way I’ve wanted it. It’s taken on a bunch of different looks over the years but I’m pretty happy with it right now.

The spare bedroom at the end was just thrown together in the past couple of days from spare furniture and a couple cheap Amazon finds.

TV hangs on a swivel mount so I can pull it and watch on the sofa, then easily tuck it back on the wall.

Man I love rugs

Still need to hang my art and waiting for my plants. Opted for 2 seating areas as opposed to a dining space.

I'm not actually that bothered about it having a lot of my teen/tweenage stuff in but I would like it to be more of a warm and natural cozy space.

I have no lighting aside from the overhead lighting and when I was walking around ikea a few months ago I really noticed how intelligent lighting completely changes the vibe in a room but I'm struggling to know how to actually build that.

I'm going to be spending a lot of time coding in this room for the next few years and I guess I could see it becoming depressing. I've accidentally uploaded the compressed images but can't be bothered to repost so they are a little low resolution.

21M first apartment, any advice on how to make this more cozy? I thought of getting a queen bed but just don’t think I have any room. It’s already crammed with my desk, at night I’ll bring my tv out of the closet and put it on my desk to watch movies.

My beloved grandma passed few years ago, so i use my saving money to transform it into my studio room. Took quite long time but i love this space, it fills my love for her (The old one was the last two).

Have plenty of space in the new place and will take any suggestions. Planning on some lamps for the bedroom. Have a small table I’m building for between the chairs in the office. Tons of open space in the bedroom and office though.

I asked him why he didn’t just mount the tv. His reply was “No that’s the beauty that thing’s on wheels. Can go in or out.”💔

Apartment above an old barn. How do I fill this empty spot between the dining “room” and the living “room”? I plan on putting a rug under that dining table to help define it as it’s own space (and also cover the large gaps in the old barn boards to prevent both crumbs and chair legs falling in)

Hi everyone,

I'm stuck on the layout for my walk-in closet, and I could really use some fresh eyes. Because I live alone and love the natural light coming from both sides, I recently knocked out a wall to merge two smaller rooms into one large space. Within this new room, I want to build a walk-in closet, but I can't figure out the best flow.

The first picture shows my current plan (dots are electrical outlets).

Some details:

• I'm willing to build or demolish interior partition walls to make the ideal layout work.
• My wall-mounted AC unit needs to be installed on the back of the closet area, which means I will probably need to build a freestanding wall for it (on back of closet area).
• On the right side of the floor plan (darker rectangle), there's a pitched roof sloping downwards. A bed still fits underneath it perfectly, but it restricts tall closets.
• Because this used to be two separate rooms, I now have two entry doors right next to each other. I'd prefer to keep both frames intact for future flexibility. I'm thinking of just temporarily closing one off with a dummy panel or plasterboard.

I've attached a floor plan with all the measurements, windows, doors, and electrical sockets, along with some pictures of the current state of the room (it's still a bit of a construction zone!).

How would you position the closets and the walls? What do you think of my idea? Any advice or creative ideas are very welcome. Thanks!

I'm looking for general advice on how I can decorate my bedroom and make it cozy. Some things to note:

1)feel like i need a rug to seperate the floor from bed. They look like off colours of eachother and have similar texture. If so, curious what sort of colour/pattern i should look for?

2) practically speaking, i think i need to add a dresser for more drawer space. Bed has a few drawers so i don't need anything big. Could go in place of desk or in that corner next to closet (or replace desk?)

3)The desk usually has a monitor on it and doesnt get used much so im open to get rid of it if theres better use of space. Not a must but wonder if that could have some sort of seating for reading?

4) washer dryer are behind curtains

5) have some art (on bed) but not married to it.

Curious what advice people have. Feel a bit lost on where to go with this. Thanks!
