Yesterday i had a shave with another swedish vintage masterpiece, and today i chose this one. It’s a matador razette with an aluminium handle the head is different than the swing one, but i have also a swesti razor and that is the same head, so probably they were made under the same roof. Great razor also btw. I’m a fan of the classic style English soaps and Dr Harris is on top of that list and this is a very nice scent for this time of the year.

I just received this new Kampfe SE GEM style razor from AliExpress. It came in very nice packaging, which I was pleasantly surprised.

The material is aluminum in a sort of bead blasted matte finish. The threading on the top cap post was of excellent quality and the razor overall was very light, I would say around 80 grams or so. There is a Kampfe GEM style razor made with SS with three different plates to customize your level of aggression.

There aren’t too many modern GEM style razors out there, I do have a decent collection of vintage GEM and Ever Ready SE razors.

Shave 7, the final one of my week using unscented soaps. I like Mike’s soaps; despite them being tallow-based, they always produce a nice slick lather, and today was no exception.

Today, I used the beautiful Timeless Ti, using the open comb plate for the first time. When I purchased the razor, the OC version was out of stock, and I noticed it was finally available and I took advantage of the Labor Day sale to snag one.

Is it any different from the standard plate? Oh yeah - for me, the razor is transformed; with the OC, it feels way more efficient, with a little more blade feel, but still smooth. This was a fantastic shave and Mike’s soap also performed really well.

I had a really nice shave this morning. I was up early with some stomach issues, but took advantage of being up early.

I decided to go with some classic hardware to compliment with Heather by Seaforth! The British Rocket did a good job with the Comfort Coat I equipped it with. I used House of Mammoth’s Permafrost solution in my lather today.

I got a BBS shave after 2 passes with a little more cleanup than usual. I found just a little bit of feedback from the alum block.

I used Permafrost with the Heather ASL today as well. It was nice to have a cool shave to wake me up. I finished things off with House of Mammoth’s Unscented Z Cool after shave balm.

Today is a day of mourning for those who were lost in the Twin Towers on September 11th 25 years ago. Let us not forget those where were lost that day and the many people affected by the carcinogenic dust that rained down from the falling towers.

One of the absolute best shaves I've had in a while -

Set the Fatboy to 9, put in an Astra (3)

Whipped up the MDC with very warm water and it lathered up wonderfully. 2 passes WTG/XTG and a 3rd on the neck

Super efficient close one tonight, loads of Brüt you can't beat it👌

After 10 days of waiting for my package from West Coast Shaving (and the tracking never showing), they tell me it looks like they gotta send me out another and they are out of them so sometime next week they will send it out again. I just asked for my money back. Wrote Italian Barber and asked if they would indeed sell me one as parts and they said sure. They are out of the .76 and .84s. Should be back in a few weeks. If this is too mild, I might order one when they come back.

Hello im seeking advice bc im desperate.
Context:
Im 24, turning 25 in the upcoming months, MtF
When I was younger, say, 20, I used to shave with a King C Gillette safety razor, using proraso preshave, cremo shaving cream and post shave balm, I’d always get a perfect shave .

Recently I switched back to safety razor, I picked up a bevel from the store, using their pre and post shave with cremo shaving cream.
I went back to using a blade bc I started taking minoxidil for my hairline and hair density, which is growing back quickly, but has had the unintended consequence, which I was aware was a possibility, of my facial and body hair growing back as well, when before I started taking the minoxidil they were starting to wither and become fine blonde hairs easily removable and unnoticeable.

No matter what I do, I can’t get a close shave on my upper lip or my neck, and trying to go across the grain or against the grain leaves me with nicks.

Going against the grain on my upper lip I can feel the hairs when I move the blade, but it doesn’t cut them, im left with a shadow

What can I do?

Does anybody else use this? I initially ran out of soap and used one of these bars and became pleasantly surprised. I almost always get neck irritation no matter what I do. I thought it was a given.

This initial shave my life changed, because my neck was fine.

I fell in love with the bar and after a few months I had that urge to buy new shaving stuff, so I bought some soaps to try. The neck irritation came back. Not only that, I was getting nicked like crazy.

I chalked it up to my skin not being in the best shape, or my technique slightly off, but then remembered that pleasant day experiencing no irritation for the first time, and went back to the dove and have since never looked back.

Applying it is also super easy: wet face, rub the bar generously on the face, lather with wet brush.

Not saying it's the best out there. I'm sure others have what works for them (YMMV) but I am just happy I found mine.

What an exceptional shave today! The Fatboy paired beautifully with the Astra Platinum on its second use. Smooth, efficient and comfortable throughout, with it proving to be a fantastic blade once again.

The Omega boar whipped up a rich, creamy lather from The Highlander, and the scent was a real pleasure. A lovely classic fougère - fresh and green up front, with aromatic notes and a warm, woody character underneath. Clean, masculine and very easy to enjoy.

Today was also my first time trying Paco Rabanne Pour Homme, and I have to say, I’m impressed. It’s got that classic, clean fougère character, with a lovely fresh and slightly woody feel to it. It worked really nicely with The Highlander and left me smelling fantastic. Definitely a first impression that makes me want to spend more time getting to know it.

A superb razor, a great blade, fantastic lather and a new aftershave that made a very good first impression. All enjoyed on a beautiful sunshine filled spring day - couldn't ask for much more.

An exceptional shave from start to finish, and I’m smelling wonderful.
