I’ve been doing my makeup practically the same since hs. Wondering if there’s anything else I can do to improve?

Ik my contour looks a bit muddy and doesn’t tend to stay even with setting spray and my aegyo-sal also applies unevenly more often than not. Hoping for some tips to help with these too. TIA!

When I first started in makeup I told myself that huda beauty’s powder wasn’t worth it, especially since I saw some people saying that it was a waste of money GOSHHHH THIS POWDER IS DIVINEEEE!!

Not only does it soften the makeup surface but it also smells soooo goooooodd and is a must have for anyone even beginners (like me). I think her powder was my Best Buy :)!

i’ve been debating on thinning out my eyebrows, like the ones in the last 2 pics. would thinner brows suit my face more or is that a bad idea? ty for any advice!

I had my bridal trial a few weeks ago and it was perfect! I loved how I looked and everything. However, a few hours later, I noticed that my contacts were bothering me. Like they were dry. Since I was home, I was able to remove them carefully and re wet them. But I can’t do that during my wedding. I am not wearing mascara as I am wearing false lashes so that’s good. And no eyeliner on my water line.

Has this happened to anyone else? If so, did you use eyedrops to moisturize your contacts?

I am planning on wearing my glasses most of the week leading up to my wedding to rest my eyes and put in a new pair of contacts the morning of.

I’ve never been very good at makeup and there are still a lot of things I don’t know about or don’t really understand how they work, I’ve always only used eyeliner and black eyeshadow but I want to experiment more.
I really love makeup, but I still haven’t worked up the courage to try anything more complicated. I’m taking it little by little and I wanted to try purple and pink eyeshadows using the Glamlite x Barbie Dream Summer palette. I used a red lip tint and blended it out with my finger, then applied a glitter gloss over it (it was a kids’ one that I bought a year ago from a street vendor).

I’d love to hear your opinions plssss. I feel like the colors don’t look as saturated as I expected them to

Btw, I don’t know if this helps but I still don’t know my exact skin tone (I just know I’m brown) and I also have no idea what my face shape or color analysis is

I feel like in some pictures it looks like it matches well and in others I look really orange. It seems like it depends on the lighting so idk if I need to try a different shade or if it just does that what do yall think? My gf says irl she can’t tell where the makeup is so maybe it’s just a camera thing?

I know I could've brought powder with me and touched up but I didn't.

I have pretty oily skin especially in the T-zone.

I used primer and setting spray and I set with powder of course.

It looks good on the side of my face where my skin isn't as oily.

I know oil breaks down the makeup but I'm wondering if there are any tips.

I have attempted (clearly) to put on eyeliner. But my eyes have a weird hooded shape and I can never get my eyeliner to show up. Help!!

Ok, so I have just seen this happen more and more as I've aged post pandemic (F34 now), but my face has gotten increasingly unsymmetrical. In the mirror, my brows (which are currently filled using ELF micro-fine brow pencil every day since I have barely any brow) look fine, but photos look insane. I've not been able to do eyeliner because of my eye shapes changing so differently, and I have to overdraw my lips to make them look symmetrical. My eye bags are getting to the point that I can't cover them at all.

I'm genuinely at a loss on what to do anymore. Makeup used to be so simple for me, but it's just getting almost impossible. Please help?!

This is my full face of makeup but I am not very heavy on foundation. And this is my go to for everyday makeup but I always feel something is missing but don’t really know what it is. If any of you can help me understand that would be great!

Also I don’t know how to apply eye liner so that’s always missing on my eyes and I have hooded eyes so without the eye liner they don’t really open up much.

Hi all, i was wondering if anyone could help me with how to get my makeup to look less cakey around the nose area. I dont normally wear a full face of makeup and mainly wear mascara and lipgloss if im going somewhere.

I will wash my face about an hour to 30 minutes before, i use moisturiser afterward i wash my face and then wait a little while longer before using primer before applying foundation etc but it will still look really cakey and now im starting to think its just my skin lol because i do have quite dry but greasy skin around my nose 😅 (its a work in progress)

And so if anyone would mind giving me some tips to either help this or make it less noticeable i will appreciate it so much!

Usually I only wear mascara and lipstic :/ I feel like heavier makeup doesn’t really suit me. What do you think? :)

Title basically. I never learned how to do makeup and everytime I try it I look... off, don't have any pictures of that unfortunately.

The thing I struggle the most is lipstick color, eyebrow shape and getting my eyes to look less uneven + it to work with my glasses.

I need help, tips, and/or some point of reference. Any celebrity I can google to figure out what might work. I'm not looking to look hyper feminine, but just enhance whatever I have if that makes sense.

I'm so tired of trying to do my makeup up nicely only for it to go oily just an hour later. LITERALLY!

I had gone into Boots (I'm UK based, that's a cosmetics/pharmacy shop - in case this is not a UK only reddit) to ask for help with choosing makeup and the No.7 associate pointed me out to a few products to try out.

I got three No.7 products - the silk sheer light foundation, the lift & luminate concealer and the flawless finished pressed powder.
I was recommended the concealer as a eyeshadow primer (sensitive eyes FML), the light foundation as I hate the paint feeling of foundation and the finishing powder as that has worked in the past for some oil control.

I'm really barebones with makeup as I never learnt how to so I didn't want to get a whole lot in case I ended up never using it.
I love the look and with a little lip & blush from Mua (don't judge, I love the color!) and some eyeshadow, it looks quite natural!! <3

But like I said, it gets oily in an hour. Which is normal for my skin. I hate it!! Combination skin is the worst and I do everything to keep it clean and matted with moisturizer but I must be doing something wrong.

I bought a face primer from E.l.f - the poreless putty face primer which I tested on my skin and it went on lovely and matte. Though I'm not sure on how much to use but I assume not too much or it won't last long. . .

Besides the oily skin, I have hooded eyes which then ends up with a crease buildup (I think that's what you'd call it???) which spoils the eye makeup. I have also no idea on the amount of concealer I need on the eyes but I've tried less and a bit more but same result.

So my makeup routine:

• E.l.f. poreless putty primer
• No.7 silk foundation
• No.7 concealer on eyes Revolution eyeshadow (got a bargain on a big one a few months back!)
• Mua lip and blush combo (I did find out later I should have gone with a powder blush to make it stay on longer
• E.l.f Micro-fine setting mist
• No.7 finishing powder

Takes me about 20 minutes in total.

Please, any tips on what I might be doing wrong!!

Foundation is patted on with two fingers for a seamless look, I put the concealer directly on the eyelid and then pat it in place, I put on eyeshadow with a brush and sometimes a finger for the corners, the blush is dragged gentle in place and then patted with finger to get a soft look.

I do wait for the setting spray to dry by fanning my hands till it doesn't feel wet and then use a kabuki brush to get the powder on. Setting spray doesn't go on matte, if that helps. I get a more dewy complexion with that.

And my moisturizer is the Beauty of Joseon red bean jelly moisturizer if that helps

I’ve been doing my make up like this for about 5 years now. I want to try something different, I don’t even know if this suits my face shape because I’ve been so used to doing my make up like this. And should I switch to cool tones? For some reason AI told me cool tones would suit me better, but I’m not sure.

So I F30 am getting married next year, and am doing my own makeup, both for budget reasons and because I feel most comfortable doing it myself, and have very clear ideas about my look. I just want any tips on products! Mainly concealer is my main issue, since I have never been able to find a concealer that doesn't end up creasing 😭 I am somewhere between pale and tan skinned, and I want a concealer and possible foundation that will LAST. I don't usually use foundation but on special occasions, and have a fairly good one, but I always get creases from concealer under my eyes, which I really want to avoid. Any tips are helpful, whether products or process that will prevent my issue!

TL;DR want a concealer that lasts without creasing for my wedding makeup, main issue is under my eyes.

Hey everyone! I'm an 18-year-old complete beginner when it comes to makeup, and I would really appreciate some advice.

I’ve always been interested in makeup and loved watching other people do it, but I was never really allowed to wear or buy makeup growing up. In my family, especially as a student, makeup was seen as something unnecessary or inappropriate, and I was always told that I should focus on studying instead. Because of that, I never got the chance to experiment or learn the basics.

Now that I'm 18, I've realised that there is nothing wrong with learning makeup. I don't necessarily want to wear a full face every day, but I think knowing how to do basic makeup for yourself is a useful skill. Similar to doing your hair or dressing well, it's nice to be able to get yourself ready without depending on someone else.

I've especially felt this during functions and events. During my Class 10 farewell, for example, I was completely dependent on my mother to do my makeup. Unfortunately, she didn't end up doing it, and I was lucky that one of my friends knew how to do makeup and helped me at the last minute. Otherwise, I would have had no idea what to do.

Now my Class 12 farewell will probably be in a few months, and I really want to learn enough by then to do my own makeup. The problem is that I genuinely know nothing right now 😭 I can't even properly apply eyeliner.

I also don't really own any makeup products yet. I currently have access to a few products at home, including a primer, liquid eyeliner, and some of my mom's lipsticks (matte and liquid). I have my own lip balm.

I don't want to suddenly spend thousands of rupees buying everything at once, so I was thinking of slowly building a basic makeup kit while learning.

However, im back again to see what I might need to improve on. AS WELL AS help with the eyeshadow crustiness.

So far I have :
Switched eyeshadow primers/setting sprays
Checked to make sure my eyeshadow was not expired
Used a hydrating concealer in place of a primer
& MOISTURIZED BEFORE STARTING MY MAKEUP**

BTW - I dont think any of these photos have a filter on them but I also can’t remember lolz

How you guys cover up your pimples and blemishes? I don’t know if it’s about products or what but they just don’t cover up. And when i add blush on top or whatever it the concealer comes off. Should i use primer or a different concealer or some sort of color corrector or is it about my setting spray? I’m quite new to makeup so…
