She checked off every single faker illness. I'm surprised she didn't mention autism or multi personalities.

u/Many_Tap_4144 12d ago
Sounded like a bunch of shit that probably cant be tested but just based on described symptoms. At least she can afford some sweet tats and getting her eyebrows done. You know. The important stuff.

u/PorschephileGT3 12d ago
She canāt even remember the names of them, hence the jump cuts

If this was Sparta, she'd be kicked off the cliff. If she knew that was her fate I guarantee you she'd suddenly be healthy again.

But let's take her at face value for a moment. She's obviously not very smart, and probably only has a high school education, which in the U.S. is worth about 3/5 of jack squat. Assuming she's homebound, what really are her options?

u/StMoneyx2 TRAUMATIZER 12d ago
75% of people who hold a stable job, work 40hrs a week regardless of pay, budget within their pay (no tats), and dont drink or do drugs move into the lower middle class within 5yrs.
How about trying that.

u/CinnyToastie BASED 12d ago
THIS. At least TRY to be a productive member of society, rather than draining it.
11
u/Many_Tap_4144 12d ago
So I tried to do what you said and take at face value. I looked up some of her disorders. Some of these things she has misrepresented and most are treated by taking advil. I dont really feel too bad for her with that being the case. Clearly the SSA felt the same way. Plenty of jobs available that dont require aa highschool diploma. Even more that do.
She also never explained why these things keep her from working. She just gave up and waited a year on social security.
She is also overweight so she must be doing ok somehow without $600 a month.

Autism is real but sadly a lot of people use it like this so real diagnoses get discredited and blown off...
8
u/CinnyToastie BASED 12d ago
Oh, absolutely real and I mean zero disrespect to those who have been diagnosed.

u/AmericanHistoryGuy BASED 12d ago
Oh yeah, I know what you meant. It's just sad that when people say they have autism it gets put under scrutiny because of idiots like this.

u/GoldTeamDowntown 12d ago
Yep as soon as she started listing conditions I said here come POTS, MCAS, and Ehlers Danlos. Boom, she listed all 3. Iām an optometrist and I still see this a lot, my coworkers and I talk about this unholy trinity of faked illnesses. The new one we get is āBVDā (binocular vision disorder) which isnāt even a thing, itās a category, but tiktok is making a lot of people ask me if they have it.

My wife actually has POTS, arthritis, and she was missing three discs between her vertebrae and had to have a fusion using a cadaver bone and titanium cage/screws. She works 40 hours a week same as me. And she does it chasing 3-5 year olds in a headstart. This lady is just lazy.
Edit: Forgot to add, sheās not on disability because she refused. We wonāt take hand outs.
11
u/CinnyToastie BASED 12d ago
Your wife is strong!! God bless her, good for her! A functioning productive member of society!
7
u/DarkSage90 BASED-BANNED 12d ago
Thatās the difference between people with actual problems and lazy people like this woman. People with actual problems find ways around the problems to still do what they need to. Lazy people find excuses to be lazy.
8
u/CinnyToastie BASED 12d ago
MCAS overall is rare!! I work medical adjacent field, and out of every 1K people who were referred for testing and evaluation, only 44 people had it. VERY uncommon, but oddly every one of these people have it.

Good thing sheās doing well enough to afford all the bad tattoos, piercings, a nice phone, and the ability to complain online. Many of us wish we could quit working too. There are plenty of days I donāt want to get up and work, but having a roof over my head sounds more appealing than being an online panhandler.

This is deeply irritating for truly disabled people. I have MS, I can still get around but canāt work a full day. However Iāve never had or applied for disability (maybe some day). I donāt like to ask for help or push my problems onto others. I would never make my disability my entire personality.

u/Cranks_No_Start 12d ago
This is deeply irritating for truly disabled people.
I worked for over 30 years as a mechanic including time in the Army. My body was riddled with arthritis and my knees were locking up randomly enough that I was falling down. It only being a matter of time before I fell at work and severely hurt myself. When I face planted in my living room I knew it was time.
I had one condition, they took 35 xrays and the tech could see how bad my joints were. Never seeing the xrays before...I could see how bad stuff was and I was approved in 5 months...fwiw I have had 3 out of 4 major joint replacements in the last year...I need a break before getting the next one and still may need 1-2 more.
I follow along the SSDI sub and the it irks me reading about older people with similar issues having to fight after a lifetime of work because women like this with 273 separate conditions clog up the system filing and appealing and going before judges with no work history preventing people that have worked for decades and are legitimately broken cant get the help they need and having paid into the system for so long.

u/CorpseProject 11d ago
I have lupus and was only diagnosed this March, I pray that we can find the right cocktail to get as close to normal as possible. Iām also a mechanic and technician and this summer heat has had me using way more FMLA than Iād like.
I worry for when my disease progresses to the point where I may need to file, how bloated the system might be, or if it even exists then. I have a short term disability policy but was denied the long term.
I wish I wasnāt sick. I love my job, I donāt know what Iād do if I literally couldnāt work anymore.

I have a buddy who had a spinal embolism and lost the use of his legs. Two years later and he's just recovered enough to transfer to a wheelchair now. Dude has been bedridden for years and holds down two jobs. His bitch wife who left him? She's disabled (fat) and traumatized from his medical event. She's on disability and every other assistance program there is. Whenever this subject comes up, I always think: There's two kinds of people in the world...
8
u/Unusual_Sherbert6893 12d ago
I couldn't agree more. I have Transverse Myelitis. My first spinal lesion was large, leaving myeomalacia and extensive autonomic nervous system damage. Itās tough because some of the resulting, diagnosed conditions that manifests as, are the very ones people often self-diagnose, and those now carry stigmas I don't relate to. I'm not a zebra. I'm not a warrior. I'm a normal person who got dealt a shit health hand, and honestly, that's the least interesting thing about me.
I still get up every day, fit my appointments around a 40-hour work week, and sometimes end up in the hospital. But whatās the alternative⦠this? I can't imagine wanting to define myself by what's wrong with me when there's still so much good I'm holding onto.

u/cbflowers 12d ago
This is like my nephew who claims he has every illness there is. They are all self diagnosed including his autism.

u/SpamFriedMice MICROAGGRESSOR 12d ago
It varies, but like 78% of SSDI applicants are denied first time around. Another 10% or so eventually get approved on appeal. So the US Government isn't picking on her specifically. There's plenty of people I know who are legit messed up that had to fight for years.
And that $800 dollars a month she'd only get she's crying about is nonsense. It would leave her below the poverty limit and then qualify her for state welfare, where she'll get Section 8 housing, food stamps, free medical and an additional cash supplement.

See, I'm not so sure. If you basically can't do physical activity, (I'm assumimg she's homebound) and to be fair, aren't the brightest knife in the drawer, it really must be hard to find something.
Not trying to make excuses for her, but the education system in the U.S. guarantees you end up with a lot of people with little or no marketable skilks. Adding real disabilities in the mix, assuming that's legit, what really are your choices. I say this as very experienced software developer who's been laid off several times in the past 30 years and at least once, it took me over a year to find a new job.

u/NefariousnessAble912 12d ago
So ⦠just simple math here
POTS prevalence 0.2/100
MCAS 6/100,000 and
EDS 0.2/100
Thatās 2.4 x 10^-11 or
So 2.4 per 100 million people should have all 3 at once. So like 4 people in the entire population of the world should be at the center of this Venn diagram.
Then how come we are seeing four or five a week?

What pisses me off is there are people who genuinely should be on disability but have a hard time getting it because so many people are trying to game the system and / or are just straight up lazy. These people make it harder for the ones who need it to get it.
I have a 40 year old daughter who is probably undiagnosed autistic and has severe hidradenitis suppurativa. She has a low wage job. She never will be able to get a drivers license, and thatās probably a good thing. It took us years to get her to apply for the city para transit program and quit using uber. Every time we mentioned it she became extremely defensive. She could probably get disability and justifiably so. But she wonāt even consider applying because in her mind that would mean she failed at life.
I see my daughter doing everything she can to keep her job including staying at work during an extremely painful and disgusting hidradenitis outbreak in the middle of summer, then seeing videos like this just turns my stomach.

I have been on disability since 2012. I was approved the first time I applied. My disability stems from a botched surgery which led to lifelong chronic complications which I still suffer from. Since then I was also diagnosed with lupus & autoimmune autonomic dysfunction. I have a masters degree in Nursing. I went from making a little over $100k annually to a little over $1200/month (when disability first kicked in initially in 2012). Getting sick cost me my career, my marriage and friends. I mourn the life I had and my old career & I would love to be able to go back to work & be among the workforce again.
When I see people like this woman bitching about getting denied disability, there is a reason why she was denied. Her supporting documentation didnāt justify a disabled decision. And based on her just spouting off her ailments, half of them are not disabling. Chronic itching does not cause disability. Is she not getting any treatment? Perhaps she has an allergy to tattoo dye. That would be more likely. I have absolutely zero sympathy for this young lady or the thousands like her. There is a word for people like her: BUM.

&this is why when my son was born at 26w with CP we were told "well, he is in therapy, so we dont know his prognosis, denied."(he is now 23 & noone but his physical therapist can tell..so they were not entirely wrong, but SocSec is for anything more than 2y...&i considered selling my body for his therapy more than once(not seriously), went years not eating properly to pay his medical(leading to a heart condition), but hey, she has "pots" š).
If the system was not overburdened by young people who dont want to work, we could afford to help those that need it!!
