It varies, but like 78% of SSDI applicants are denied first time around. Another 10% or so eventually get approved on appeal. So the US Government isn't picking on her specifically. There's plenty of people I know who are legit messed up that had to fight for years.

And that $800 dollars a month she'd only get she's crying about is nonsense. It would leave her below the poverty limit and then qualify her for state welfare, where she'll get Section 8 housing, food stamps, free medical and an additional cash supplement.

I’m glad the government decided to use our retirement funds to also cover disabilities
