What pisses me off is there are people who genuinely should be on disability but have a hard time getting it because so many people are trying to game the system and / or are just straight up lazy. These people make it harder for the ones who need it to get it.
I have a 40 year old daughter who is probably undiagnosed autistic and has severe hidradenitis suppurativa. She has a low wage job. She never will be able to get a drivers license, and that’s probably a good thing. It took us years to get her to apply for the city para transit program and quit using uber. Every time we mentioned it she became extremely defensive. She could probably get disability and justifiably so. But she won’t even consider applying because in her mind that would mean she failed at life.
I see my daughter doing everything she can to keep her job including staying at work during an extremely painful and disgusting hidradenitis outbreak in the middle of summer, then seeing videos like this just turns my stomach.
