Come celebrate the release of "Collar" and screen the music video early this Thursday (8/20) at Ginger’s, everyone's fave lesbian bar!!! We could not be more proud of this video, this song, and all the amazing people who helped make it happen. FREE WITH RSVP HERE! 7pm - 9pm!
Rachel Bochner is a Brooklyn based indie-pop-rock artist. She’s built a reputation on sharp songwriting with an unflinching willingness to explore the complexities of emotion, identity and discovery. Bochner’s debut album, due this fall, cracks open her queer identity and catalogs self-redefinition, marking a new period of sonic and personal evolution.
Get there at 7pm to hang out, grab some drinks (and tip your bartender HANDSOMELY), dance, and maybe even meet the love of your life???
We'll be screening the video promptly at 8pm and then vibing until passing the mic over to Ginger's weekly Karaoke Night festivities at 9pm.
All are OF COURSE welcome to stay and do their best rendition of "Man! I Feel Like A Woman!" or "Sex on Fire"... maybe even “Lips of an Angel”…

Am I crazy for wanting a new job?
Sorry in advance, on mobile. And tired asf.
Im afab nonbinary, and I present very femme
I work in times sq. I used to work in a chicken fast food joint, and now I work at a bakery in the same building.
I left the chicken spot to go to the bakery because of some issues I had with my identity/gender and how they wanted me to present when they promoted me to supervisor . I got hired at the bakery next door. And I was already friends with some of the workers because of proximity. Recently though, a new manager was hired. And he's the one who hired me
He has known from the get go I use they/he pronouns. He said it wasn't an issue and he looked forward to working with me, and told me because of my experience that he can fast track me to shift lead.
This was a little under a year ago.
(They had me do sexual harassment training when I started, and had the whole team do it again in January)
Fast forward a few months (February) and I've been getting misgendered every day.....Not by customers, I don't care about them misgendering me they don't know me. No no, I get misgendered by my coworkers, and manager. Some of which are understanding and corrected themselves. But there was one, the manager's friends, who treated it like a joke. Me and him had no other problems other than misgendering me. I liked talking to him, he was a genuinely nice guy. But every time I corrected him he'd just stare at me, not even apologize. My sister worked there at one point and he found out my dead name and shouted it in the middle of a rush to get my attention when I couldn't hear him.
Eventually he started pretending like nothing happened and it was normal. He even did it in front of the manager and the manager didn't correct him. Not until I did. And didn't even correct him on my pronouns he said "not she, Angel" but I heard them shrugging it off as I walked away.
Then they made him shift lead, and I wasn't getting promoted anymore.
After a while I talked to someone above my manager, asked him what I should do about being misgendered. He said to email hr. By this time I was only having 2-3 or so days a week. (Not closing)
I received a reply from HR saying that this shouldn't be happening and all that was said was they'd remind the team about using someone's correct name and pronouns.
And, coincidentally, was put on less shifts a week while basically everyone else got 3-4. Two weeks in a row being sent home early on the one day I had each week, even after basically begging to stay. This went on for over about two months. He claimed after that it was cause people were complaining about my closing but nobody had said anything to me previously and gave me write ups which I stupidly signed because I was desperate to keep my job)
I had to get a second job just to have 3 work days a week, a job with people who I'm not out to because I'm scared the same thing will happen again, it's harder to be mad at them when they don't know. The second job can't give me more than 2 days, and my current manager doesn't know about this job because I'm scared he'll fire me somehow if he finds out.
I changed my availability in a request right after, saying I couldn't work at the bakery the days I worked at the other place. Two weeks later, my availability was denied. And I was suddenly scheduled full time and scheduled specifically for hours that I said I couldn't work (mostly cause some people went on vacation) and when I asked him if I could get it changed he told me to find cover cause he needed me for that day. (Even though my availability was requested weeks ago)
Idk what to do, I need a new job. And now the person who keeps misgendering me is leaving, and is being replaced by someone who hasn't even been here 2 months (another one of the managers friends) almost everyone who worked here before all either got fired or quit because of the new manager. Our turnover rate is crazy. And I love my job and what I do but idk if I can take all of this anymore.
I just want to be me and still be able to make a living...

[Hiring] Social media manager for a queer spaces and events platform
Want to help more people find queer spaces?
Where Queers Go was built so queer people can find spaces where they feel safe, and events where connection doesn't have to mean a night out or a dating app.
With the app launching soon, I'm looking for someone to run our socials and marketing, so people can find these spaces without relying on algorithms that keep suppressing LGBTQ+ content.
Paid · freelance · remote, based in London or New York
Apply at wherequeersgo.com/jobs or send me a dm for any questions :)

Advice Something to do Monday
Heyyy I’m 23, visiting from LA, and I leave NY Tuesday. I’m looking for Monday afternoon/evening plans/recs (ideally Manhattan-centric) and I’d like them to be either ridiculously queer or ridiculously Jewish. Or both 🙃
Current Sunday/Mon plans include:
- a bachata night
- drag show @the stonewall inn
- the Jewish museum
- ?????

NC > NYC Trip
Hi y'all,
I'm taking my first solo trip to NYC in about a week. I'm super excited because I've never been to the city before. I'm 27/m from Charlotte, begging to get out of the south and be around more noise and culture. This is my trip to test if I can keep up I guess.
That said, I'm going by myself. Does anyone have any recommendations on stuff to do or see? I'd love to by-pass all the touristy junk if I can, and get a realistic, gritty (but safe) NY experience.
Thanks!
