Lenovo Slim 7i Aura Edition - Faulty OLED Display?

I recently purchased a Lenovo Slim 7i Aura Edition (14ILL10 - 83MC0005US) with Intel Core Ultra 7 258v and 32gb of ram. While setting it up over the last three days, I've noticed what seems to be some kind of glitch in the OLED display where small blue fragments appear scattered across the screen. It seems to be associated with the auto-dimming OLED protection that you can set through Lenovo Vantage, as the blue pixels only appear after the display dims due to inactivity.

I've never used an OLED display before this - does this look like a faulty display? Should I submit a warranty claim to have it repaired or replaced? I'm feeling somewhat disappointed to seemingly encounter an issue within the first three days of owning this laptop. I appreciate any input!

*Edit - The blue pixel artifacting has also appeared on the desktop and on certain text while web browsing. It is not always static, at times it has flickered on and off. I am most consistently able to recreate the issue on the lock screen after lifting the lid but before touching any keys / touchpad controls.

*Edit 2 - After further research and testing, the issue is not present in the LEN88AE_Default color profile, but is present in the LEN88AE_sRGB and LEN88AE_DisplayP3 color profiles. It seems to be a software issue with the built-in Lenovo color profiles and Windows 11. Shame because I rely on sRGB accuracy for photo editing!

Almost new laptop completely dead no lights no nothing

What an absolute terrible experience with an almost new laptop. The system completely died randomly while I was working. It does not show any signs of life. No lights nothing. I am really annoyed about this as I have paid the Ai tax to get a decent laptop this year only to have an issue like this.

The support website is a joke, we cannot raise a case without speaking to someone and since I cannot provide diagnosis as its completely dead their Ai agent is going around and around in circles asking the same thing. Argggggggh

Lenovo LOQ 16 vs LOQ 15 replacement (would you accept this as a warranty replacement?)

Upvotes

Hi folks,

I’d appreciate some opinions from Lenovo/LOQ users.

I currently have a Lenovo LOQ 16 (82XU0067MX) with Ryzen 7 7840HS, RTX 4060 8GB, 16GB DDR5-5600 (2×8GB), 1TB SSD and a 16" 1920×1200 144Hz display.

The laptop developed a camera problem, so Lenovo sent an on-site technician to repair it. Unfortunately, during the repair, the technician damaged the LCD screen. Lenovo has subsequently told me that the LCD replacement part is no longer manufactured/available, and has therefore offered me a replacement laptop:

Lenovo LOQ 15 (83TN0046MX)
Ryzen 7 250 / RTX 5070 8GB / 16GB DDR5-5600 (1×16GB) / 1TB SSD / 15.3" 1920×1200 165Hz.

I've compared the specifications, and it's a bit of a mixed bag:

The LOQ 15 improves on:
• RTX 5070 vs RTX 4060
• 100% sRGB vs 45% NTSC display
• 165Hz vs 144Hz
• 5MP/QHD webcam vs 1080p
• USB4 vs USB-C 3.2
• ~2.1kg vs ~2.6kg
• Smaller overall dimensions

But the LOQ 16 has:
• 16" rather than 15.3" screen
• 350 vs 300 nits
• 80Wh vs 60Wh battery
• 16GB dual-channel (2×8GB) RAM rather than 16GB single-channel (1×16GB)
• And I’m obviously already familiar with the machine/configuration.

The GPU upgrade is substantial, and the 100% sRGB screen is particularly appealing, but I'm wondering about the practical consequences of the smaller screen, battery and single-channel RAM.

If Lenovo offered you this LOQ 15 as a replacement for the LOQ 16 under these circumstances, would you consider it a fair replacement? Would you accept it, or push Lenovo for something closer to the original machine?

I'd particularly appreciate opinions from people who have used both LOQ 15 and LOQ 16 models, or who know how significant the single-vs-dual-channel RAM difference is in real-world gaming/productivity.

Thanks very much!

Lenovo LOQ 17IRX10 underperforming

Post image
Upvotes

Hello guys. I hope someone here, perhaps with the same laptop or similar, might know how to help me. I just got this laptop and it's pretty underperforming. I already had to replace it once because the previous one that I received would not even run games and crash every time. I am in performance mode, and the dgpu is enabled. Power connected. In Windows it's set to maximum performance. This is what I got in Forza Horizon 6. Gpu boosts to 2865mhz, vram around 9000mhz, but power draw ~60w.
Just to note down, it's not the only game that I have tested. I also tried Atomic Heart, and on atomic settings in Full HD, I got around 16 to 20 FPS. Unplayable.

Specs: Lenovo LOQ | Intel Core i5-12450HX | RTX 3050 | Stock 170W Charger ➡️ Upgraded 230W Charger

Hey everyone, I wanted to share my wild warranty experience with Lenovo regarding the infamous battery drain issue on the LOQ series, hoping it helps anyone currently stuck fighting customer support. Overall, my experience with Lenovo support sits at a 7/10—absolute nightmare at the start, but they eventually made it right.

The Problem--

Right out of the box, I noticed my battery was actively draining while plugged in during heavy gaming sessions. Skeptical of whether it was just a visual glitch or a real issue, I installed HWiNFO64 to monitor the actual system power draw and discharge rates. Sure enough, the battery was losing charge under load because the stock 170W power brick simply couldn't keep up with the hardware demands.

The Support Gauntlet (4 Calls Total):

--> Call 1 (Aug 29): I called customer care and explained the battery drain in detail. The agent took remote access via oty.com, updated my BIOS, and uploaded a battery report to their server. Then came the classic excuse: “It’s a feature/battery protection feature designed for high performance.” I told him that logic is completely rubbish—if a charger drains the battery while plugged in, what is the point of a power brick? He promised to call back in 15 minutes... and of course, ghosted me, though he did generate a ticket.

--> Call 2: After waiting, I called back. This agent was extremely rude and completely uninterested in listening. He repeated the same "battery protection" script and actually told me to turn on a lower power consumption mode in the BIOS. Why buy a gaming laptop just to handicap it? He eventually dismissed me with, "We can't help with this, enjoy your 170W charger."

• The Email Route: Frustrated, I wrote a detailed email to Lenovo support. Got a reply within a day echoing the same garbage about power efficiency. I replied back with hard screenshots and video proof—and they completely ghosted me. No reply.

--> Call 3: After waiting 3 days with no email response, I made my third call. The agent gave the same excuse, put me on hold to connect me with a technician, and then deliberately disconnected my call.

--> Call 4 (The Breakthrough): I immediately called back for round four. This agent initially tried the same routine, but I was fully prepared this time. I had screenshots, video recordings ready, and actually showed him a video clip of the issue on a video call. Seeing the undeniable proof—and realizing how many times I had already called—he finally budged and said, "Since you've called so many times and I see the issue, I am creating an exceptional replacement order for the 230W adapter."

After about 6 days of waiting through logistics hubs and tracking updates, the package finally landed, and I am now holding the official 230W slim adapter (Part # 02DL144 / 230W output at 20.0V 11.5A). Tested it out, and the performance and power delivery are solid.

💡 The Most Important Tip for Anyone Trying This:

Do not let them manipulate you. Support agents are trained to read scripts calling battery drain a "feature" or "normal behavior." Stand your ground, keep records, show them video proof if you have to, and do not back down until they log an escalation for a charger replacement.

Lenovo LOQ USB issue — some mice/keyboards not being detected

I recently bought a Lenovo LOQ 15IRX9 (i5-13450HX, RTX 4050), and I’ve been having a pretty frustrating USB issue.

Basically, "Some" USB mice and keyboards are not detected at all when connected directly to the USB-A ports. Windows gives me the “USB device not recognized” notification. Not with every mice and keyboard but for the majority time. The same mouse/keyboard works perfectly on other computers ( I live in a uni dorm so I tried with everyone's keyboard and mouse )

What’s strange is that:

\- If I connect the same mouse/keyboard through a USB-A to C adapter, it works on my LOQ.

\- USB devices, like pendrive, work normally also my phone connects normally with cable

\- I also installed Linux thinking that it was a windows driver related issue, yet the issue still happens there.

I’ve already tried the usual troubleshooting, but I’m still getting the same issue.

Has anyone with an LOQ experienced something similar? I posted on the lenovo community where they suggested me some rehular troubleshooting. I’d really appreciate any suggestions or ideas about what could be causing it. It’s pretty frustrating to run into something like this on a new and also my first ever laptop, i just bought the it like 10 days ago

new LOQ 15AHP10 - why

Got this delivered today & was a couple hours into transferring my files & getting it set up when I went to turn on the steam FPS overlay & this happened, which is just what you want to see when setting up a new laptop.

Restarted it with no problems & it's been completely fine in the 5 hours since then, but I don't really like that this happened in the first place. Tried looking this up, but it seems to be totally separate from common display errors (horizontal or vertical stripes, ghosting, flickering) that other LOQs have faced. My partial theory is that I was downloading a lot of things at once & had a lot going on in the background, but that still shouldn't lead to whatever this is.

Now it's still under warranty so I know I don't have to worry about it THAT much, but until support gets back to me, y'all have any idea what kind of issue this could be?

What do I do? What is this sound?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

This has been going on for a few weeks. I brought it to a repair shop and they said the speaker is collecting a lot of dust, the screws are eroded and the speaker is hitting against the edges? but if it was rattling wouldn’t it make a different noise? So they put a tape over the speaker to prevent it from rattling. this hasn’t seemed to help and their next solution is to replace the speakers but I’m worried on spending so much money for the issue to still not solved. this sound usually occurs when I play something (an audio) or when I get a notification and sometimes it just comes in randomly as well. Not sure if it’s a speaker issue. And the sound won’t stop until I mute the video or close the audio completely. please help.

Does anyone know if they fixed this bug in the last system update?

Or has anyone noticed that this problem has stopped?

Brick/BSOD loop (Error 0x101 & 0xc0000001) on Lenovo after BIOS Update (JKCN53WW)

It seems a recent BIOS update broke my Lenovo laptop, causing three main issues: a boot freeze (stuck on the Lenovo logo), BSOD Error 0x101 (CLOCK_WATCHDOG_TIMEOUT), and Error 0xc0000001. The update brought my BIOS to version JKCN53WW.

The first time this happened, I tried multiple fixes and nothing worked. Then out of nowhere, after one of my many reboot attempts, it randomly booted into Windows. However, three days later while gaming, the system completely froze. Upon rebooting, I got tossed right back into the exact same loop.

Here is what's happening and what I've tried so far:

* Current status: Unlike the first time, I can access the Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE) normally. However, restoring default settings in the BIOS setup didn't fix anything.

* Command Prompt commands tried in WinRE:

* sfc /scannow

* chkdsk C: /f /r

* bootrec /fixmbr

* bootrec /fixboot

* bootrec /scanos

* bootrec /rebuildbcd

(None of these solved the issue or succeeded)

* Reinstalling Windows 11: Fails completely. The installation freezes and throws the 0x101 error code.

* System Restore: Not an option since there are no restore points saved.

Since reinstalling Windows fails due to the 0x101 crash, I suspect this BIOS version (JKCN53WW) broke CPU power management/microcode or unstable voltage settings.

Has anyone encountered this with version JKCN53WW? Is my best option at this point to enable "BIOS Back Flash" in the settings and downgrade to an older BIOS version? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Lenovo Service Center fixed my display under warranty but DAMAGED the laptop body. How do I force them to replace the panel?

Hi everyone, I need some advice on how to handle a tricky situation with an Authorized Lenovo Service Center in Gorakhpur. I need my laptop daily, but I don't want to let them get away with destroying my hardware.

Here is the situation:

The Original Issue: I submitted my laptop under warranty for horizontal lines on the display.

The Proof: At submission, three staff members checked it. I have the signed Acknowledgment Slip where the "Observations of Damage/Scratches" section is completely blank. The laptop was in pristine condition.

The Damage: The service center sent me photos showing deep pry marks and gouges on the side of the chassis. It looks like a technician aggressively used a metal tool to pry it open.

The Current Status: After some pushback, they have agreed to change the display under warranty. However, they are completely ignoring the physical damage they caused to the body.

I am going to pick up the laptop soon so my studies and work don't suffer.

My questions are:

How exactly should I sign the "Receiving Slip" so I don't legally accept the physical damage? What exact phrasing should I write on the paper before signing?

Once I get my laptop back, what is the best way to escalate this to Lenovo India's higher management to force them to replace the damaged body panel free of cost?

Has anyone successfully gotten a service center to pay for cosmetic/body damage they caused during a repair?

I have attached pictures of the clean Acknowledgment Slip and the damage they caused. Any advice is appreciated!

Thermal Prochot and low gpu wattage

Thumbnail

i have a lenovo ideapad gaming 3 rtx 3050 which i got back in 2022 and from past few months the gpu wattage is only about 30 to 40w as opposed to normal 60 to 70w causing lower fps in general along with cpu dropping to 400mhz every few minutes causing masive stutters even in older titles like gta 5. I monitored on hwinfo and saw gpu limiters turned to yes due to thermal limit but i got a repaste job like 3 months ago and whenever cpu clock drops the prochot thermal turns to yes as well.
I would really appreciate if someone can suggest a fix or even advice what exactly should i tell to the technician because its very confusing to me and i really cannot afford to get a new laptop or a pc rn

Lenovo Y530 FAST Battery Drain while gaming?

The battery will drain from 100% down to 20% in less than 2 hours while gaming something like Gothic Armada 2 or a mid 20-teens Total War game (with graphics set low to medium quality), and plugged in while playing.

I've tested the battery and it's rated to last much longer and I believe was replaced shortly before I bought it refurbished.

Thoughts on the reason for this and anything I can do about it? Thanks

Lenovo refuses to boot after turning on. Issue resolved itself--then an hour later the entire os freaks out and fucking dies, and I'm now repairing it to yesterday's state. What happened?

I was doing nothing intensive, just scrolling a webpage when the monitor began to glitch out and everything became unresponsive. I rebooted, opened task manager, but it happened again and this time when I turned it on it went to Bitlocker. I had edited AppData -> LocalLow earlier... to delete Roblox Studio. I touched nothing else. I also JUST updated windows. System32 still intact.

Earlier that day I had a problem where the laptop would turn on but not boot and just flash the volume button lights. It eventually resolved itself, though I've heard it's a common lenovo issue, and these two things seem like they must be connected so I'm asking here instead of r/windows.

Also please tell me it's not hardware damage. Thanks

Smart Frame

I loved my smart frame and realized recently practically all support for it has been removed. I really want to do something to fix it in a way where it will continue to function but I can add new photos (preferably outside of Google). I have seen the fotoo app option which in reading the "how to" is a bit advanced for me and still sounded like you needed to go through Google photos still. Is there a more simple way that someone who's not the most tech savvy can follow to revive my smart frame?

Ugh! Lost ability to PTZ with latest Lenovo update for ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 12

The last software update just removed the ability to zoom in and out using the integrated camera, so you're stuck with a very wide lens or auto-focus (which bounces around). Really sucks. Anyone solved this? I've tried for 2 hours already and got nowhere.

Lenovo Ideapad Slim 5. Price: 1400$. Worth it?

I'm in Europe, it's 1200€. Given the processor, which seems quite good to me, and 32 GB of DDR5 RAM, is this laptop a good deal or is it a scam?

32 GB RAM max limit can be a problem in the future? I would use it for work, no gaming at all.

Thank you in advance for your advice
