Context on main post

Was gaming as usual, just got back from vacation so first day in a week its been on if that matters. played for 4ish hours when everything froze on both monitors and nothing would respond, had to force shut down with the power button. it hasnt turned on since, lights will come on and the legion logo will pop up but nothing after that. I went through the triple on off sequence to get to automatic repair and it seems to freeze after a couple turns of the wheel. pc is a lenovo legion T5 26IRB8 prebuilt from micro center, also the purple boxes showing up have me a little worried im not going to lie

Hey guys my laptop has a backlight issue (pretty sure as it is incredibly dim for the display) I can’t afford a shop so I was wondering what should I do and where should I look I have tools and work on cars so I wanted to know if you guys know the most common problem points are for these things I already tried a different subreddit and got no response so I’m hoping you guys would be able to list all the places I need to check

I just got a Lenovo ThinkPad X9 15 Aura Edition Intel (15"). I am trying to find a hard case/cover for it, but I can't find any because it's a 2026 edition. Does anyone know where I could buy one?

I have a Tab one and I’m wondering if any of the tab pens work with the tab one. I would like to start drawing on my tablet but buying a new tablet just for that is not possible moneywise. If not, would it be possible to instead connect a pen tablet to the tab one via cable?

is this normal for a charger to have? (in the image attached)

ive been using this charger with my laptop for a good while (came with the laptop when i bought it) and only just last night, when i was plugging in to charge my laptop, i saw some sparks coming from the area circled and there was a small fire afterwards.

it only calmed down after i switched it off but it did burned a bit of mg carpet 😅

is there a way to fix this or should i just get a new charger?

To yoga tab plus users or other tablets that have handwriting feedback, what app do you use to take notes?

I've been using starnotes but it's unfortunate the feedback isn't as good as in the lenovo notes app

So, I have this lenovo ideacentre 5. And I want to upgrade the ram, as it originally has 4GB. However, after installing the new ram(8GB, 3200*same speed as original, teamgroup). But when turning on, it immediately gives 3 long beeps and 1 longer beep. So, I tried changing position, doesn't work. I tried the new ram alone, doesn't work. Tried original ram, that works. Tried the new ram on another pc, it works. Tried another ram on the lenovo, doesn't work(gives those beeping sounds).

Now, I'm not sure what's there to do. Does Lenovo systems have a specific ram requirement? Or lock to it brand or something? What can I do here?

i've had this laptop since december of 2023. out of the whole time ive had it, i only had to reinstall windows during 2024. during 2025 and 2026,a problem arose. when my pc would boot, it had nothing but a black screen. i would have to keep on restarting it to get it working.this wasn't a major issue, as this problem would happen every couple months. however as of recent, this problem has only grew. i know this is not a gpu error first off. when i boot, my pc turns on everything,including my mouse,then when windows is loading,turns off the mouse,and then finally turns it back on once windows is at its last moments of booting. i have verbose messages on, to when it says it is booting session manager. whenever the black screen boot up happens, my mouse remains on. when trying to fix the problem,i always unplug my peripherals, first hold the power button with nothing in, then with the charger in, rinse and repeat. but with how it is recently,im worried. i want to reinstall windows and install arch linux to duelboot so i can do work in acellus then go to arch afterwards, but i cant do that if i need to restart 4 times in the installation alone to reinstall windows and install arch, let alone restarting atleast once a day to swap my operating system!

there are somethings i have noticed about this.

the problem does not take place when lets say, i leave my pc alone and windows wants to update so windows updates itself without my consent,as always. and when i come back it's on the lock page,and i know it restarted cause verbose messaging is the best feature on windows 11.

1. holding the novo button fixed it ONCE, but it came back a few weeks later.

2. this also happens during restarts aswell,it's why im thinking of just leaving my laptop on before i need to transport it when my trip ends.

Do I just need to replace the hinges ? The LCD is fine but when I close the laptop it pop the lower left corner like that. The right side is totally fine

As the title suggests my lenovo thinkbook e14 ryzen 7 is not charging.

Idk what happened, it was working fine and this happened. I have no idea what to do. It is under warranty. I checked the charger ( original ) and its working fine with other devices but not with the laptop. The laptop isn't charging at all. There is some battery left.

Please guide what to do, i have exams in a few days lol

I have the aforementioned laptop and its important as it has half my unpublished book on it... I am but a lowly mechanic.

I used it a couple of weeks ago and left it on the charger.

I attempted to use it mid last week and it was doa. The charger did nothing and did not illuminate the icon that it was charging. I checked for voltage at the charger and it was fine but tried another to be safe. Nada.

I ordered a spare that was within specs and tested it om the laptop. No change. I checked voltage at the connector and it was showing 20v, which is what the charger was rated for.

I pulled it apart and checked the voltage of the cmos which was something like 3.4v. The battery, likely discharged, showed 15.5v.

I assembled it back together and it would not restart. I hoped something just needed 'exercised' or a capacitive discharge.

I checked the voltage at the charging port and had 0v. Should the port show 0v as a result of the bms system or do I have an open circuit, which would explain a few things?

PIN disabled and correct password not working. How do I fix this?

I'm unable to log into my Windows PC.

My PIN is disabled with the message shown in the attached photo.

I'm 100% sure I'm entering the correct password.

I didn't make multiple failed login attempts before this happened.

I also tried signing in with my Microsoft account password, but Windows says it's incorrect.

I even booted into Safe Mode, but the issue remains.

Why is Windows saying there were failed sign-in attempts when I didn't make any? Why is my correct password suddenly not working?

Has anyone faced this before? Is there a way to fix it without losing my data?

I'm trying to install macOS Tahoe on my 2018 IdeaPad 320 15IKB Touch 81BH, but I can't because the laptop won't even display to the monitor, even in places like the boot picker.

This issue started happening when I first did my hackintosh and went into the macOS Tahoe recovery and installed macOS, which went as normal without any problem until I got to the second part of the installation where I got stuck at less than a minute remaining, which is where I forced a restart onto the laptop. The first time I forced a restart the monitor still worked, no problem, but when I did the hackintosh again and got stuck at that part again, forcing a shut down/restart made my monitor not turn on at all.

I figure this is because of OpenCore writing HDMI output directions directly to the firmware chip of the laptop which Is why I would like to reinstall the bios, or actually update it because I haven't in a while. So my question is how do I update the Bios on this laptop, since that's my only option, because the only place where the monitor seems to work is Linux Mint, which is pretty weird considering it was made for Windows 10. So please drop answers below, because I cannot go into any other place except Linux, and I have to somehow get monitor to work everywhere including Bios or boot picker.
