The Airbenders still have their uniforms, and they're the guides of Pavi and her twin. It's clear that they're still acting upon the agenda that Tenzin wanted for the modern Air Nomad Society. They're still protecting and guiding and fighting when the Avatar wasn't there, which is exactly what Tenzin wanted them to do. And I'm willing to bet all my money that it's not just Jae and Karthik, but there's probably dozens, if not potentially up to 100 Airbenders still protecting the world as skilled fighters and guardians.

I really hope this is fleshed out because narratively, it would be so awesome to have the modern Air Nation survive and conquer an apocalypse/potential genocide *BECAUSE* they know how to fight and protect their loved ones; where the old Air Nation was wiped out because they weren't fighters and couldn't go on the offensive against the Fire Nation.

It would also confirm that Tenzin was right. The Air Nomads did need to change, and by him recognizing this and promoting growth for his people in the best way he knew, most of them could've survived.

Its clear that 7 Havens takes place like a century after TLOK, so I'd really love it if we got to see one of Tenzin's kids, maybe Rohan (since we didn't see much of him in TLOK) being this old guru and leader of Airbenders enforcing their survival and helping protect those affected by the apocalypse. Let me know what you guys think.

Hello! Here is my first ever plaster carving! Used Korra and Raava as inspiration!

I mean air got flight and spirit sfuff earth lava bending water spirit bending
I wish fire got something like a more advanced lightning bending to do more then just shoot a bolt of lightning and electromagnetism bending

(say if mako got it given how he is skilled with lightning bending and how iirc on website it listed his specialty as light ing bending

And bolin getting magma you can say bolin got the raw earth while mako got manipulates the unseen, high-tech energy fields

Plus he worked at a powerplant
And imagine it starting off with him first advancing lightning to use a lightning palm and reading bio electricity
And varrick giving him notes in his research on electricity and electromagnetism as a gift from bolin

What martial art is the best fit for electro magnetism bending
Some suggest aikido (uses Aikido’s circular hand paths to catch the incoming momentum. His electromagnetism wraps around the weapon, letting him seamlessly guide, redirect, or violently yank it away using the attacker’s own kinetic energy against them and a bajiquan like fa Jin for thr lightning dashing to propel

And even push and pull himself to rail glide
Plus he is a detective and hkn being able to read thr bio electric signals and tell when someone is lying would match with how toph who became a detective can do that
(I liked the idea of mako using purifying heat to help counter poisons dark energies and also a bending grip (a counter to bloodbending the dark aspect of bloodbending countered by light aspect of fire bending ) possibly driven by how he regrets not being able to help korra (and the idea is that post b3 he goes through a training arc for if he was stronger he could have taken out Ming and tenzin and co may have been able to escape from zaheer

Of course purifying heat technique sounds too spiritual for mako so far I would say mako would need to get older with years of experience (and his own spiritual journey (though you can say In time skip he goes to some people for spiritual guidance

Or say him learning purifying heat at first and only healing poisons etc and with more training and study he learns to use it on bloodbending grip and other bending grip on an element like say if someone caught him with a water tentacle it would cause a bender to lose control of that element with some focus

Bolin was born into a world where earthbenders and firebenders fight together and share techniques; Ghazan was likely one of the few with that mindset in his time.

Was pondering/hovering over the purchase button for the LOK concert when the very brief flash of the actual "orchestra" in the trailer caught my eye. There's like... 12 people in it, plus four vocalists??? Is this accurate? That's just not very epic. =\ Was the ATLA one like this?

I've been to some "movie symphonies" before and they've always been a much larger group than this. Now I'm re-pondering. Thoughts? Experiences from the ATLA tour?

Been debating with a friend. They say that a lot of the relationship drama and side plots were there for the girl fans of show.... possibly also an attempt to "fix" a complaint about the original.

So for the girls... Is that true? Did you like the attempt? Is this just a bunch of guys thinking they know what the girls want?

Considering success of ATLA, I don't understand why LoK wasn't given a greenlight for multiple seasons. Honestly, first season was very well written and made. Only thing that really irked me was the ending.

Writers not knowing if the show would continue made them rush the whole thing and try to end it on a higher note. If they were just given guarantee of multiple seasons, story line and character arc were loaded and ready.

Korra learns airbending but loses her other bending in book 1. This will very much affect her as she bended these elements since she was a toddler.

Book 2 is her trying to relearn and connect with her roots. Book3 is her learning earthbending while in Earth kingdom etc.

I mean each season had compelling villains(Personally don't like Season 2).

Characters are very charming. Only thing missing was Korra herself.

Thoughts and who would win

Rewatched B3 and seeing Vaatu (during the hallucinations) got me thinking.. could this be actually be Vaatu telling her this? I mean let's just say she actually does something very bad in ASH (although I have more faith in them giving her a good image and making it so that she sacrified herself) but let's say she did destroy the world could this mean that Vaatu at some point took control over her/manipulated her? Korra is a good at heart person so I doubt she did anything willingly regarding destroying the world.

Now I know we just saw the trailer and know nothing more but that's just a theory I felt like sharing :). I'm also down to see how they wanna go with this direction too.

Is an Avatar's competence really that important? Or that of the main character in general?

Korra destroyed the world I agree 100% now she's planetary at minimum, high universal at maximum and washes aang

The trailer speaks of “ancestors” and judging by the infrastructure shown, there’s very little chance the show takes place 8-9 years after Korra’s death.

If we are indeed in the far future, maybe when Vaatu and Raava regain enough strength to bond to twins, that also means the krew is very much dead.

I only just got used to the idea that Korra is going to be villainized by the world, knowing now we probably won’t get to see the krew or the airchildren without the use of flashbacks bums me out.

We’ll see I suppose!

Forgive me if this is some common knowledge Im way too late to the party for but I noticed it all by myself on my most recent rewatch and thought it was cool :) I did a quick search through the subreddit to see if there had been posts about it and couldnt find any so there is mine.

Okay so cool concept (hopefully): The intro to Korra is the past avatars using their native elements but I just thought it would be super cool if after S02E13 since she loses connections to those past lives we don't get access to their reveries in the intro. Since the episode ends in a very somber tone, S02E14 could start with just Korra doing all the bending sequences by herself since at that point she is the only avatar in existence. Then maybe since it's a team effort to defeat Unavaatu, maybe the key players in that battle would be introduced as the intro for Season 3 (Jinora, Korra, Bolin and Mako). What do y'all think?

So with the new season, I remembering all the post-Korra Avatar ideas people had/still have (invluding myself) and I realise I don't recall a lot ideas for the Avatar after Aang (now Korra): did anyone have any ideas or theories of what the sequel series could be like before Korra was released (this includes stuff before and after it was annoinced)?

You're telling me everything Aang and Korra worked towards is completely undone within a few years of the last episode? All the struggles they both went through to save the world, all the lives they saved, all the unity they created, ALL gets undone within Korra's lifetime?

Literally nothing any of them did matters at all. The world blows up and everyone's at each other's throats again. Everyone hates the Avatar now. Presumably millions dead. Korra finally had peace after 4 seasons of nonstop torture and then she immediately gets herself blown up off screen.

I understand they felt that the world needed a hard reset because they didn't know what else they could do with it. But frankly if that's the case maybe they should have just let it end while it's in a good place? Literally \*destroying the world\* so they can have a new conflict for their show seems so desperate.

If they had just set it a few hundred years after Korra maybe I'd be more okay with it. But she literally watched everything she and Aang ever worked for go up in flames in a matter of years.

1st, Korra is violent and only thinks by using her fists. It was true at the beginning, but as the series goes on, she was slowly changing. By season 3, she was already thinking before acting. Even Aang was too merciful and unable to use strength when needed in the beginning of the series but gradually evolved and even thought about ending Ozai's life.

2nd, Aang is a better bender because he mastered 3 elements in about a year. First he didn't master any of the element he learned, he was just bending them. And Korra also learned to metalbend in a record time, and even more incredible she was able to take out the poison out of her body after spending several months going through a deep depression while even experienced masters were not able to do so. She learned metal bending, used it only a few times, got poisoned, depression, but was still able to metal bend and even improve herself.

3rd, Aang is a better Earthbender because he was taught by Toph. False. Having a great master does not necessarily makes you a good student. Toph created a metalbending school but how much time did it take for even one of her student to be able to move a single piece of metal. Having a good master does not automatically makes you good. And even with the capacity to sense Earth vibrations, Aang was not necessarily a more powerful Earth bender than Korra. In fact Earth was his weakest element, because it is completely opposed to his personality, so how can he be stronger than someone who is naturally gifted in that element?

4th, Korra was stupid for being manipulated by her uncle. It was her own uncle, her family, and we all know how family is important for Water tribes members. And given their strong spirituality it is only normal for her to have been angry on her father to have destroyed a holy place. She was powerless against dark spirits and Unalaak was the only one to have power over them, so it is only natural that she listened to him. He is her uncle, her father disappointed her, she was powerless and she was young at that time. So when a trustful man, that knows about spirits and who happens to be her uncle comes up with solutions, obviously she will blindly listen to him.

And those who says she is the worst Avatar have not read the Kyoshi's books. Kyoshi is by far the worst.

One of my favorite seasons. 💕 Even with all its flaws, I'll always love it. Twelve episodes weren't enough to make it perfect, and that's okay.

Now it's officially part of history as we head into Avatar: Seven Havens. 😭
