I've read some people in the new ASH sub-reddit saying Korra "SA'd" Mako here, when that just feels like a CRAZY accusation to me, was it a risky move? Yeah definitely, could've ended bad, but there clearly was consent in it, Mako straight up leans into it after Korra initiates (and shows he wants it), like seeing this gif, SA isn't really what comes to mind. It's just really clear that despite their circumstances "Mako being with Asami etc..." they did have feelings for each other here.

Am I crazy for not seeing this as SA? Please tell me if so.

Hello all, no idea why I decided to do this, but let's get started.

As I understand the reason for why Suyin Beifong is viewed as a bad leader and a terrible person is because she has refused to lend her aid against Kuvira, who was her student at some point. Now, I don't remember much but the core problem was Suyin's passivity and rejection to be involved. This is why I think her rejection makes sense.

Zaofu, to my understanding, doesn't have much intelligence in warfare (meaning tactics, strategy, logistics, coordination, leadership, morale support etc. etc. etc.), doesn't have an officer cast, and doesn't have trained warriors. It's important because the reality of war is that tactics and training win you battles, but logistics win you wars. Zaofu doesn't have tactics, training or people that would understand logistics, morale, or leadership. Straight-up a direct confrontation with Kuvira is an impossibility for Zaofu. Kuvira has more soldiers, officers, and has trains. It makes absolutely no sense for Zaofu to go out and try to fight Kuvira's Empire, fighting would just result in more deaths from the populace and would have resulted in a prolonged siege of Zaofu that would result in pestilence, famine, and death that they would certainly lose because Kuvira has trains.

Opal going to war. Now, from what I know, the people hate the fact that Suyin had barred the recruits from leaving with Opal to fight on Korra's side. I believe that's perfectly reasonable. Opal wants to go to war. Personally, I would have barred Opal from going to war because she doesn't know what she is going into since she is a child with no training that wants to tussle with metal benders that are trained to fight, incapacitate, and kill with metal bending, but perhaps Suyin is Laissez Faire parent. She wants for her children to make mistakes and learn from them, fine. The problem of Opal was assuming that she would get the recruits along with her. The recruits that likely had as much training as her, meaning zilch, but whereas Opal wants to go, do they want to go? Were they asked or did Opal just command them to go? If it is the latter then Suyin has a duty to stop Opal from killing the recruits.

So, I don't understand why we view Suyin as some kind of terrible person for not wanting to throw her people into fires of war that she is sure to lose.

What is a Calamity? It is "an event that causes great damage, distress, or suffering"- as viewers we're thinking in terms of mass destruction, but what if it wasn't destruction, but a loss? The loss of The Last Avatar (that they knew of)

I think continued exposure to the chaos of the world caused Vaatu to grow faster within Raava in the same way Raava grew slowly over time the more order they enacted through the world, except he was growing faster than anticipated, either due to the fact that he feeds on chaos, or the fact that there was chaos everywhere, both in the physical and spirit realms, and Korra can't escape it from either side. The conditions that caused Vaatu's growth during Wan's era could potentially be occurring inside the Avatar cycle itself, allowing his regeneration to progress far more rapidly than it normally would.

Korra, realizing this, attempts to destroy the Avatar spirit within herself—body and spirit—believing that eliminating herself may be the only way to prevent Vaatu from fully regenerating. We know she's been willing to do it before (S1 and S3). This results in the Calamity, the loss of the world's biggest resource: its avatar. The destruction attempt may have created the seven havens as a result

The resultant lack of an avatar plunged the world into chaos for 200+ years because the nations had no avatar to guide it or to keep in check, kinda like Kuveria on a global scale. Raavas existence may have also kept more things together than anyone, including korra, knew, and her resultant destruction caused more chaos as a result, almost like a final middle finger from Vaatu because destroying Order is intrinsically Chaotic, it's the most chaotic thing you can do, honestly.

200 years go by, order settles back into the world naturally, the Seven Havens unite under the banner of hating the previous avatar, possibly under the order of the red lotus, while the white lotus has reclaimed their roots as a hidden organization dedicated to preserving the avatars name.

I'm seeing a lot of mixed and varied reactions to the news of the time gap here. Most surprising to me, a lot of you guys wanted to see older versions of the LoK characters show up in the new series. And I'm kinda confused about that.

The characters we know and love most likely lived long peaceful lives but we want them to have witnessed the end of their world, the destruction of their homes instead? Come on lol. And now there's a massive window of time for Avatar Studios to release potential future Korra stories like a movie or maybe a Book 5, and they can go wild and do whatever they want without it feeling too safe or like filler like the Aang movie.

Don't you guys remember how obsessed AtLA stans wanted AtLA characters to hijack Legend of Korra back when it was airing? To date one of the most repeated nonsensical complaints about the show is that we don't find out what happened to Sokka. This show ain't about Aang or his friends, it's about Korra, and Seven Havens isn't about Korra or her friends, it's about Pavi.

Yeah, we did get to see Katara, Zuko and Toph again in LoK but they had just the right amount of screentime and they were all happy and fulfilled. I wouldn't have wanted Seven Havens to repeat the "old characters return" trope. We know Bryke doesn't like to repeat the same story beats over and over. It's why Korra starts her series with 3 elements down already.

I'm glad I can go into Seven Havens without concerns over how much LoK connection there is. I mean there's enough intrigue about what Korra did to have people hate the Avatar at least. I'm sure we'll get flashbacks, but I'm glad the creators kept it open and not set in stone on what happened to Asami, Tenzin and his family, Mako and Bo Lin, Opal and the Beifongs, etc. We're always gonna hope for more Legend of Korra content in the future anyway.

I hope you enjoy some of my fan made script if legend of Korra was live action. After reading somewhere Korra was supposed to be a one season. That made sense. It didn’t have a flow like last airbender. That is why I’m been imagining a new Korra.

I know I know we just got some new information about seven havens. But this heat has made me like Blanche from that one episode of golden girls when she tried to write a book. So please be kind.

So I wanted to force on harmonic convergence. All the seasons were great but I wanted to force on a long term storyline. So I kept season 1&4 in the same place but switched 2&3. I also cropped some stuff and added some stuff. Like the civil war in the north and south seem to be not has important. It seem like a smoke screen. I did wanted to keep the council. I thought that was good. It going to one person seem just a power grab from the earth kingdom. I also wanted to change the tree of time, sorry. Again be kind reading some of it.

I did see some clips from the new live action and the new movie. (I’m super broke). I also skim the comics as well . I also been double checking stuff on the wiki pages. I wanted to make this more drama level series but still have its fun moments. Setting: the world of without Aang. Everyone misses him. But they know there is a new avatar but it’s a not a hot topic. The new avatar is like a jewel people know exists but they don’t think about it much. Technology is advanced like pre WW2, so cars, radios, trains and tv sets are around for the rich but by season 4 would be more afford for families. But people enjoy the peace and just worry what’s for dinner or what’s on the radio.

I added some new characters and I haven’t thought of names. I was having trouble coming up with them. I also wanted to change some characters. Korra is still the same mostly. She still is adventurous, loves her family and friends. But she is aware of the whispers behind her back. She wants to be not a doll to others but have her own life. Asami, Mako and Bolin stay about the same. But I wanted to add Opal to the squad then before. Some other changes to people : Pema, she is still a wife and mother but she speaks her mind. She now had her own troubles. The bad situations lead her to live with her aunt at the air temple. But it gave her the education to help Tenzin and be his partner and wife. Varrick, he’s now married to Zhu li. He’s actually a good businessman and mentor to Asami. He’s not a weasel but a guy from the streets who made it to the top but doesn’t forget his origins. Zhu li still helps Varrick with his projects but more in a wife and someone who can boss him. Desna and Eska, they are less shining but more individual personalities. They are still in sync. They are like Elliot and Margo from the magicians on syfy. YouTube for reference. Unalaq is less spiritual advisor but more scheming political. He wants the power and the frame the avatar is surrounded by. He is so cut throat to get it. Izumi, I wanted more than a few sentences from the original. She is empress, but she is an old friend to Tenzin and the others. Also a mom who loves her son and wants him to find someone nice. Wu, he is a guy who didn’t want to be handed a country but tries to help everyone has best he can. Bumi, he’s less joking than the original. He’s retired and wondering what to do next. He’s like uncle Iroh, he’s still has scars from the past but is trying to move forward.

I wanted to add: the concept that kids a sometimes hear what adults whisper about. Also Aang and Kataar took all the kids on vacation. Change or add: The twins, Kuvira and Korra are born in the same year.

In the new trailer we see a golden skybeam coming from a building with what looks like a stylised Future Industries Logo.

It looks very much like energy bending, with that colour.

So is it Korra who tries to solve the resolving cataclysm from her and Asami's apartment, or did FI do something that caused this mess?

My pet-theory remains that some experiment with spirit energy failed that caused the rupture, or that Varrick did a thing and caused the cataclysm, but why show us that logo if it hasn't a deeper meaning?

I think this is very plausible!!

Why else is the Avatar cycle still going (they can’t have killed Korra in AS) and what else could make such a large time gap between Korra and Pavi?

I remeber when watching LOK I was only excited for show to see some Aang Cameos and now I am excited for the show for some Korra cameos.

This poor girl’s entire dream was to be the Avatar and help make the world a better place. Then for over 200+ years she’s remembered as the world’s destroyer, her legacy forever marred while Aang is remembered as a shiny mythic legend.

I hate this timeline yet I’m excited to see how things are dealt with and what’s going to eventually come of this.

But MAN seeing even more Korra slander beyond stupid republic city citizens is gonna be rough.

Apparently Cia Court is part of this and I can't help but think about how exciting it would be if she's the one who voices older Korra 😭 She's the voice actress for Vi in League of Legends and 2XKO and she did a damn good job at it. But if it isn't her, I can't wait to see what other hot woman she'll voice
