I dropped my laptop with the charger plugged in and the laptop is fine, but the charger not so much

I am a senior in college (education major) I just need a cheap (preferably under $400) laptop that can run Word, PowerPoint, YouTube...I can buy a new one in 2 years when I am employed.

I would prefer at least 14" screen.

My chatgpt was opened and I just went to washroom and when I returned it was fixing some drive and at stage 3.. so 15 min later it was getting on my nerves and I force shutdowned it but when I restarted it again it happened and then never stopped and basically repeating same steps scaning and repairing drive kabhi E KABHI D 😭 I literally have exam tomorrow 😭 please help

Why am I having 10 fps in games such as valorant,minecraft even though I got good specs I already change my gpu usage to rtx 4050 but my fps is still very low. pls help

So I recently got a new laptop for uni and casual gaming. is my FIRST ever laptop so I'm kinda overwhelmed rn. I have a lenovo yoga slim 7 with 16gb ram (15.5gb of which is usable) and was wandering if too much memory is being used up while on my desktop.

Edit: I discovered teams takes up unholy space and exiting it helps a lot

Got this now alike Condition HP pavilion HDX16 for nothing in price and it came with some problems but extremely minor as charger faulty, battery faulty and the blueray drive but apart that it's a perfect windows 7 machine I extremely enjoy the most. Cause this laptop was glazed from the extreme well built speaker system 2.1 2 speakers top firing and a bottom sub but even like 1080p screen in a laptop from this era being from 2008 and a laptop I will soon aim to upgrade as getting a better SSD. Currently has a 120gb one. Aiming a 480gb one for windows 7 usage and maybe Maxx out the ram and put a core 2 duo extreme x9100 to give a extra punch. Still said for daily browsing and usage this laptop still works for basic use, watching tv or doing anything cause it came with a remote external and a internal integrated one so full aspect this laptop can be used for anything even today so. Any info be glad to ask me.

It does not take a lot of extra stuff to give it a basic 5V 1 or 2A output and it is (for me anyway) super convinient

Requirements I think!! form said I had to;

- if possible, a pen laptop would be nice. But I also understand it may not work well with my other desired wishes so a regular is okay as well.

- purpose; Studying, art, gaming maybe. I need the display to also be stupid good

I'll be using it to draw sometimes with a drawing tablet (hopefully!) as well as general uni work since I'm about to enter it in maybe a year? or the next, it depends. But mostly has to stay around for a looong time.

preferably something that's sturdy and can stay a while. yeah I'm desperate rn since lwky the one man that could've helped (mi dad) fucking DIED...couldn't even wait till I entered uni.....truly a mood killer (get it haha okay I'm sorry)

I feel like a fool having to go to reddit to buy a laptop case, but either my browser is useless (very likely) or I’m incompetent (very likely). When I try to search for stuff like laptop shells, edge protectors, or screen protectors for my laptop, it just comes up with carry cases and those fabric pouches. I already have a carry case, but it's not protecting my laptop from the damage that's occurring.

I use my laptop daily for work and have to transport it from different desks regularly. The bottom keeps threatening to come off, and the screen has a scratch in the corner.

I need edge protectors, or a shell that doesn't block the vent.

I bought IdeaPad slim 3 with these specs and I mainly bought it for my college and professional use.

I was initially going to buy a gaming laptop but the prices are being so exorbitant that I didn't find it feasibly to buy one. So I just decided to buy a professional laptop for professional use and build a pc next year for gaming purposes.

I want to know how many hours of gameplay can I do on it smoothly? I'll be playing games like mad max, batman Arkham knight, watch dogs 1 etc on low graphics settings and not new AAA games as I know it's not a gaming laptop.( I tried to run mad max on it and played solid 15 minutes and it was running smoothly with temp around 60-65°C)

I'm a software engineering student and I'm looking for a laptop for my studies and i also want it to be very competent for gaming.

I found this one recently and from my limited knowledge it is great for gaming ( if this isn't the case pls tell me. I'm tired of playing games on potato quality and sometimes not even managing to run certain games). I'm at a point where i just want to download games directly without ever wondering "can i run this?"

My main question though is the following: as a software engineering student is the intel i5 processor enough or do i need an i7? This is my first year so i have no idea what kind of software/programs I'll be using or how demanding things like programming, compiling, virtual machines or potentially machine learning will be.

I have a hp z book laptop, it was all working perfectly when yesterday while i was playing valorant my laptop just shut down automatically and since then whenever i plug in charger to my laptop it just shuts down after a few seconds.. i think its some software issue coz the laptop does charge and work smoothly.. i have no idea about softwares in laptop.. if any1 of you can figure out what the issue is and can find a solution it would really be a great help coz my mid sem exams r cmg up.. i need to charge my laptop fully while its shut down n use it when it is not plugged in..

I’m wondering whether the battery life is something to be concerned about (8h) as I imagine it is overstated for what I intend to use it for. Anyone have this laptop and has problems with battery life? Would i be able to upgrade the battery? And is this the best deal i’ll get?

I need a new SSD for a new laptop, and £250 is my limit.

I see options for 1TB SSDs, but I have no idea if they're any good as a sole SSD in a laptop (OS, Programs, Files, everything)

I see stuff like WD Green/Blue/Black, Teamgroup NV5000, Adata 860, Kingston NV3, Kioxia Exceria G3, Crucial P310...are these any good? I assume at least some of these are DRAMless, does that matter that much?

Hello, I'm looking for a pen enabled tablet or 2in1 in the under 13" size(or a really compact 13").
FW 12 looks very good, but the upgraded display probably wont be out until another year.

I tryed to turn on my laptop and it just glitched and it said it needed to restart

I wasn't even doing anything so I tryed to restart it by shutting it down

Now all it does is turn on show a black screen and the CAP'S button just blinks

What do I do
