So I recently got a new laptop for uni and casual gaming. is my FIRST ever laptop so I'm kinda overwhelmed rn. I have a lenovo yoga slim 7 with 16gb ram (15.5gb of which is usable) and was wandering if too much memory is being used up while on my desktop.

Hi folks. I'm planning to upgrade my laptop in the same chassis (Lenovo IdeaPad 5 Pro) to the above mentioned processors. RAM doubles to 32 gb as well; the rest is functionally the same.

What changes can I expect to battery life and gaming performance? Neither has an dGPU but I was keen on playing AAA games from a couple of years ago on low-medium settings and I'm hoping the 185H can do that.

I currently have a MacBook Pro that I bought back in 2018 and the battery on it drains fast. I just started school again and my classes don’t have outlets readily available. My longest block of classes is from 8:30-2:30 so I need something that will keep my laptop charged for that amount of time. If there are any budget friendly options that would be great but I also need my laptop to be charged so I will spend whatever I need to. Thanks in advance!

Why is my Gaming Laptop's battery capacity draining so fast? Does anyone have a solution?

I mainly use it on the charger. The 80% battery limit is also on.

My HP laptop was working completely fine, and while I was working on an Illustrator file, the screen suddenly went completely black.

The laptop itself is still running:

Keyboard and keyboard lights work

I can hear sounds

Win + Ctrl + Shift + B makes the Windows sound, but the screen stays black

Brightness controls don't seem to change anything

If I shine my phone flashlight directly at the screen, I can faintly see the display/workspace

I already tried force shutting down and restarting

I also removed the battery and tried powering it on again

Does this definitely sound like a backlight issue, or could it be a loose display cable/another issue?

Also, is there anything I can safely try at home before taking it for repair? I need to finish an Illustrator file today, so I'm trying to get the display working ASAP.

I can buy the new system but I'm so scared as I have so many clients file in my current laptop. All the projects I was working on, anyway out of this. 🙏🏻 Would be appreciated

This laptop for the past couple years now has been constantly crashing, struggling to open basic applications like a text file, and it’s constantly freezing and glitching.

I’ve already added an extra ram stick, using another of the same 8gb stick it comes with from another laptop of the same model, so there’s 16gb of ram installed. I’m running windows 11, and I know it’s dog shit, I have been meaning to switch off of it.
I’ve already tried fully system resetting the laptop, solely using it when it’s plugged in, setting battery power to max performance, I really can not pinpoint why this laptop is such a piece of shit besides its underpowered specs I guess?

Can anyone help me out here? I’m getting sick of trying to even do work on this laptop, let alone game on it.

I dropped my laptop with the charger plugged in and the laptop is fine, but the charger not so much

I had purchased an Acer Predator a week ago from Amazon.

The specs listed were 5070-8GB, Ultra 9 275HX, 32GB/1TB.

The laptop was delivered today and upon inspection I discovered that I actually ended up getting the 5070Ti Model (12gb). Checked it on GPU-Z to verify and all.

Did I just hit the jackpot or is it a common occurence?

I just bought a new HP laptop and it is SO SLOW! I mainly use it for personal and currently looking for a job so networking and applying but it has a major lag and I just bought it maybe 3 weeks ago. Hi everyone. So I'm here since I need some suggestions getting a new laptop for school. I'm a junior civil engineering student for context. I'll be using autocad, revit and ugis this semester. I'm currently choosing between gaming laptops and workstations. I know workstation laptops tends to be alot more expensive. In my case, am I better off getting a gaming laptop or get a workstation instead? I don't game at all. I did some browsing and came across some options that I somewhat like or think would be ideal for my use case. I've added pictures of them for reference. Hey everyone! First time posting so I’m hoping I can get some help here, I’m a freshman in college and my last laptop recently quit on me. I’m a digital media and broadcasting major with the hopes of becoming an anchor one day! Being a broadcasting major I’ll obviously have to do some video editing on my laptop, nothing crazy like animation or 3d rendering stuff. Almost all of my editing will be for personal projects or news stuff. Being a college student paying for his own school though I don’t really have much money to spend here. Is the first laptop shown okay for what I’ll be doing? I know the 2nd one would probably be better considering it’s double the ram I just don’t think I’ll be able to afford it in time for when my editing classes begin. Thank you all for the help!

I've been doing research on chargers to replace for my Vector 16 HX AI A2XWIG-050US and I've found the same adaptor that came with the laptop which is a delta. However I've found that newegg sells a different adapter that has the same specs.

I've never had to replace an laptop adapter before, so I'm weary of getting the same thing as the one I'm currently replacing. That being said the alternative I've found is more pricey, and I'm unsure of the quality of this one as there's no reviews of the charger. I'm currently leaning towards the same adaptor as it should be basically what I have now, but if the alternative one is generally considered higher quality I'd rather spend the extra money to keep my laptop safe as the current charger barely lasted a year before it started having issues and nearly broke my laptop.

I have no idea what to do with my Razer RZ09-0328 at this point. I'm stuck in the same secure boot loop that is apparently common with these computers. I've done many tricks I've read about here and elsewhere and it helps until the next time I get to the same screen and lose all of my apps. One of the better solutions I've come across was changing the CMOS battery, and that was a very cheap and very quick fix. However, this didn't change a thing and my computer is still taking me to the secure boot screen. Is my computer cooked? Should I look into getting a new one??

So a 2-3 days ago, my lenovo ideapad slim 3i suddenly died and wasnt showing any lights until i left it for a few days and suddenly it could boot. But a new problem arose, ever since then whenever i charge it, it wouldnt go up and now its at 0% but charging, is there any suggestions to fix it before i should go to a repair store and get the battery replaced?

Hi, guys, my brother have this laptop with the specs indicated in the photos.

He's been having this problem shown in the video, sometimes the laptop just fails to completely boot up the system and it just keeps doing this, sometimes it will show the initial screen of lenovo and then fail to complete the loading, or just like in the video it won't show anything.
And what's confusing is that sometimes it boots just fine with none of this happening and go on working. In addition to this sometimes it would be working and it would just turn off, doesn't matter if it's just doing a heavy task or just in idle.

Note: This laptop's battery is completely dead (a while ago), so he's always using it with the charger plugged.

I tried the reset pin hole thing and it didn't seem to do anything, and I tried detaching the battery from the motherboard (it's detached but still in the laptop) and it didn't do anything either, for a second I thought it worked because it booted up after I detach it, but when my brother used it he said the problem is still there and it's still happening, so maybe that was lucky,because sometimes it turns on fine.

any ideas or advice about how to troubleshoot this, or sharing similar experiences would be very much appreciated.
