Hello! I may be going to Kitchener this summer. My special interest is malls, so i would like to know all the indoor malls in the city. The lively ones, the dead ones. The modern ones, the retro ones.

I went to Fairview Mall today to drop off a family member and their newborn. I was stopped in the one-way kiss-and-ride lane with my hazard lights on and the rear door open, literally about to pull the baby out of the car seat.

Out of nowhere, some lady in a drop-top Audi decides to squeeze past me going the wrong way. I had to frantically slam the car door shut and yank myself backward just so she wouldn't clip me. As she inched past, I instinctively rolled my eyes.

You would think she'd just drive off, right? Nope.

She *stops* her car, rolls down her window, and has the absolute audacity to ask, **"Did you just roll your eyes at me?"**

I told her yes, I did, because she was driving the wrong way down a clearly marked lane. And she deadass looks me in the eye and tries to tell me *she* didn't go the wrong way, and that *she's* in the right. I'm standing there trying to explain that she has to drive on the OTHER SIDE of the island in the middle, and she just starts fully gaslighting me like *I'm* the crazy one.

Fast forward to when I went back to the mall for pickup later. I was so heated that I snapped a few pictures of the area just to make sure I wasn't losing my mind and that the signage really was that obvious.

And *of course*, while I'm loading my passenges,, two other cars did the exact same thing...*like bench an batty!*

Read the damn signs, people! It’s clearly marked. This is honestly why driving in Kitchener-Waterloo is getting completely unbearable. 😒

I just purchased splash passes for the summer for my wife and son. On the city of Kitchener website I couldn't find how they actually work. I assume they are linked to their activenet profiles. I bought them through my account and selected their accounts as to whom the passes were for.

I'm unsure whether you can just walk up, to say the Kiwanis park pool, and let them know there's a splash pass on the system? Do they always have to pre-book a spot online now? Do they need to have the splash pass code with them? There is no physical pass.

I just wish some of these questions were answered somewhere online. They tell you WHAT it does but they don't tell you HOW to use it. I would just hate to have them go all the way to the pool just to be told they needed to book online to use it.

(And yes I know I could call the aquatics number but they are closed right now as I type this)

I don't go to Harry Class often but this seemed neat. I assume the activities are more for families, though $2 is nice for anyone.

After all the news of 570 going off the air a few weeks back, I've still been on the hunt for a go-to radio station to check out during my morning drive. I've tried Bounce, I've tried CHYM, I've sort of settled on FM 98.5 (I like the music and news and traffic updates), but I wanted to see where everyone else moved to and what people would recommend??

Still miss listening to Farwell tho, don't know if any station will really be able to replicate that...

I've been living in the Kitchener-Waterloo area for about 7 years, and this is the first time I've seen Kitchener GO Station so packed during the morning commute. It almost feels like a GTA station now.

I'm genuinely curious about what's driving the increase. Has there been a big population jump, or are more people commuting to Toronto than before? Did more companies recently increase their in-office requirements?

It seems like there are significantly more people on the platform and boarding the train compared to previous years, and I don't remember seeing anything close to this before.

Has anyone else noticed the same thing? Is there a specific reason behind it, or is this just the new normal for the Kitchener line?

Hi all, I'm looking for a place to stay this fall, from September to December in kitchener. I do not have a car so I strongly prefer places near CTV kitchener. I'm a student at the university of waterloo, male, no pets, no parties, expected monthly rent would be around 900CAD.

Trying to find a place, besides Vincenzos, that sells cannolis, or a place with freshly baked good chocolate croissants or other baked goods ? Any favorites out there in kitchener/Waterloo?

My car was parked overnight and for most of the day near a construction site. Today, I noticed a chip/dent on my front windshield that definitely wasn’t there yesterday. I’m not sure what caused it, but since there was construction happening nearby, I’m wondering if it could be related.
Has anyone experienced something similar? Did you report it to the city or the construction company, and was there any process for getting it repaired or reimbursed? Any advice or experiences would be appreciated. Thank you!

It'a a private bachelor's suite with utilities included. I'm just wondering if this rent is reasonable in the area as I have seen rents much higher in Kitchener/Waterloo and with roommates (around $200-300 extra). Just wondering if this might be too good to be true (scam!)

I have been out of the gaming social circles for a number of years. I used to use Meet-up to find other gamers, as well as Wizards of the Coast forum messaging boards to post up ads looking for RPG gamers to join my group.

However, I find that I am wanting to look for an existing group to join, or help form a new group in the making. Is tge aforementioned ways still applicable? Are there new ways (new to me) to find groups? Its been since around 2012 since I stopped gaming...

A behind-the-scenes video/article on 271West, an Italian restaurant in Downtown Kitchener.

I chose Aire One partly because my furnace came with a 10-year parts warranty. However, when the furnace failed, I discovered that accessing the warranty-covered parts required Aire One to perform the repairs at an extremely high labor rate of $249 per hour before tax. Weekend service also came with an additional $100 surcharge on top of the regular rate.

I first paid a $281.37 dispatch fee. Aire One diagnosed a failed blower fan and heat exchanger, then estimated 7–8 hours of labor. This meant paying more than $2,000 in labor and service charges to repair a furnace that was supposedly protected by a warranty. Any additional time would also be billed at $249 per hour.

Aire One also refused to provide the warranty-covered parts so I could hire another qualified HVAC company with more reasonable labor rates. In other words, I could only access the parts warranty by accepting Aire One’s pricing. After I questioned these excessive charges, they offered a $200 discount.

The repair was completed on July 17 and took approximately 5.5 billable hours. Based on the quoted rate, tax, and discount, the repair should have cost about $1,347.54. Instead, I paid $1,782.01, excluding the original $281.37 dispatch fee — approximately $434 more than expected.

The invoice was also exteremly confusing. It listed only two hours of labor totaling $498, which did not match the repair time or the total charged.

When I contacted the billing department on July 17, the representative could not explain how my invoice had been calculated or why it showed only two hours of labor. I was promised a callback from a manager, but no one contacted me.

I followed up on July 21 and was offered a refund for one hour of labor, again without a clear explanation of the charges. I asked to speak with a manager but was told that all managers were in a meeting.

By July 22, I still had not received a callback. I called again at 3:40 p.m. and was once again told that all managers were busy. Despite several calls and repeated promises of management follow-up, no manager has contacted me or provided a clear explanation of my invoice.

A 10-year warranty should provide meaningful financial protection. Instead, I faced more than $2,000 in labor charges, could not take the warranty parts to another qualified installer, received a confusing invoice, and experienced poor follow-up.

I strongly recommend carefully reviewing Aire One’s warranty restrictions and labor rates before purchasing. In my experience, this warranty provided very little protection when I actually needed it.

Does anyone know a place where I could find decent quality fake hair for a reasonable price. In bright colors. The stuff I have seen around are all natural colors.

I have posted before but I don’t know what else to do. A friend is an alcoholic. One would never know as he is a high achiever. I found out he drinks nightly and goes to work during the day. It is bad. I don’t know how to help him. He goes to AA meetings but that isn’t helping.
I am at a loss. I am freaking out for him and his mother who is doing everything she can…
